With all the wineries dotting the entire state of Oregon, Hubs and I decided to visit Airlie a second time since we were so pleased with our first visit. And we were not disappointed.First, a note about us. I am a native Californian and remember going on winery tours in the Napa/Sonoma region when I was a kid. I seek out the small, family-run wineries – off the beaten path – who have to rely on the quality of their wines and the friendliness of their tasting room staff rather than the showmanship of their pretty wine tasting rooms. Airlie delivers on all counts.First of all, to get there – pay attention to your navigation system. It’s not off any main road and you have a long, un-paved driveway to negotiate. When you round the corner nearest the tasting room , you spy a small lake (large pond) with a covered picnic area adjacent. Up the drive you go where you are greeted by at least one (if not all) of the vineyard dogs. Find a place to park (areas are not marked) and wander either into the tasting room or have a seat on the patio – dependent on weather. Mary (the owner) or one of the staff will be happy to serve you.Their selection is wonderful including some varieties I haven’t tasted elsewhere. Prices are reasonable. I don’t recall there being a fee for the tasting – it could have been that since we purchased a couple of bottles, the fee was waived. Service was excellent and very friendly. The tasting room has little ambiance and no gift shop but, hey, I’m here for the wine, not the décor. And the view outside the window is outstanding.Hubs and I plan to retire to Corvallis in about a year and we love this winery so much, we plan to join its wine club. Take the time to meander out here. It’s worth the drive.

If you are in the Salem-Monmouth area this is well worth a stop. The owner, Mary, is friendly and loves telling you about her winery. All the Airlie wines I've tasted are excellent.

We went for wine-tasting with friends to the Monmouth area over the Labor Day weekend. We pulled in at %, when the sign said they were closing, and the owner, Mary, who very graciously allowed us a tasting even though she was supposed to be closing. The wine was very good, so after buying a couple of bottles, we pulled out our picnic lunch. I will definitely be buying this wine again from our local market, but would love to bring others out to this relaxing, lovely location.

We were greeted by the winemaker's two red setter dogs. This is another Willamette Valley winery with a lovely location, this one has a large pond adjacent to the tasting room. The wines were so reasonably priced it surprised us. We will definitely be returning.

What a great visit...we sat at an outside table with our dog (everybody there had a dog) and they brought our wine out to us, sat with us and explained about the wines, which were very good. We really like the atmosphere, and the wine. Would definately go back.

not bad; I like that it's local; they have some pretty good pinot noir

Lovely place for wine-tasting. Our group reserved their covered picnic area for an event. The staff is extremely helpful and generous. Great wines a bonus!

Driving in to the winery is rewarded by a friendly greeting from the owner's dogs and friendly staff. A wide variety of wines available.
