Cowboy Steve gave us a once in a lifetime experience we will never forget. His knowledge of the area and story telling skills can't surpass his true passion and love of his horses and the island itself. We not only had a great adventure but made a new friend. We will be back next year and meeting cowboy steve was a huge part of that decision. -Kelly & Allan

This is one thing you just can not beat anywhere!!! Stephen and his horses are just amazing!! The location was easy to find and Stephen was right on time every time. When everyone on the ride gets there he will have you stand in a circle and have everyone introduce themselves and give their riding history and experience level. Then he will introduce you to his horse and will tell you their name and their difficulty level. He will then tell you to pick your horse so you get matched up with the best horse for you (I got to ride his pinto Sundance!) after that you will mount up and begin your ride! You will get to ride first ip the road to a sugar mill, a couple of his horses will even walk up the stairs into the mill where you can pose for amazing pictures! When you get back down the hill from the mill you get to ride across a big flat lawn and if you are an experienced rider he will let you stay back and gallop your horse to the other side (I did)!!! Next is the beach, you get to ride along the sand and then into the sea! You get to swim with the horses and do a special trick on one of his horses that everyone gets to try (you will just have to go and see for yourself if you want to no what it is)! Then it's a nice walk back to the farm to round out the ride (if you are an experienced rider you might even be able to do a bit more galloping if you choose)! Overall you just cannot beat Stephens ride, it is really the best I have EVER been on! And the first priority is always to have safe fun ride with the horses! And let me just say, I have ridden with other people on the island, and not only the ride, but the customer service surpasses everyone! (I rode with another business while I was here and I will never ride with them again, the horses were not in the best condition and all the trail guid could do was talk trash) and just to show how amazing Stephens business is, when I was here 2 years ago I rode with him 3 times, and while I was here on this trip I rode with him 3 more times! All I can say is great things, Stephen will ALWAYS have my business and my highest recommendation by far!!!

Took a ride with my daughter the other day and we had another group of riders with varying experience. Stephen tool the time to make sure we each had a horse that corresponded to our riding experience and made sure each of us was safe and secure. Unlike most rides I've been on, he was able to allow the more experienced riders to do more so they were not bored while at the same time didn't put the least experienced riders into a position where they felt uncomfortable.Riding on the beach and into the ocean was awesome. Again, Stephen never put anyone into a position where they felt the least bit uncomfortable. This is truly a MUST DO while in St. Croix!

Cowboy Steve is a passionate person about St. Croix and the horses. He is very patient and a good teacher when it comes to riding horses. You will have a great time and learn lots about the land plus get a scenic horse back ride and a beach view and swim with the horses if you want! We enjoyed it very much and would definitely do it again! It was also a very personal experience as we were the only ones on the ride :)

I can't say enough wonderful things about the adventure. If you are looking for the 'real deal' with no fluff then go with Cowboy Steve! He is knowledgeable about the island and truly loves everyone moment spending riding and so did I. Going into the water with Blarney was the best!

Stephen and Noah are truly amazing people. They make you feel safe and really take you on a once in a lifetime ride. If you can only do one thing on this island THIS IS IT!!!

Cowboy Steve and Noah were very friendly and personable. We had a great time riding and took the horses out in the ocean. I haven't been horseback riding in 15 years so Stephen and Noah helped me get reacquainted. They also offered to take pictures for us! Wear water shoes and something you don't mind getting wet in. Also, bring a towel and change of dry clothes to leave in your car if you plan other activities or dinner afterwords.

I have been meaning to write a review for a while. The first thing I mentioned when I came back from our honeymoon holiday was how much of an awesome time we had horse riding. We went in January as we were stopping off at St Croix as part of the Cayamo cruise. We met our cowboy, Steve, at "Eat@Cane Bay" at 10am and he took us to where the horses were located on a pick-up truck. We were introduced to all of the horses and they were rated in terms of difficulty/experience level. I picked "Tinker" who was a lovely 2 1/2 year old pinto - white and turns black in places when in the water. I was amazed how lovely he was to ride especially given his young age. A couple of us were able to ride so whilst less experienced members were getting on their horses we were allowed to ride up to a viewpoint on our own. We returned to the others and went for a walk through forest, along roads and to the beach. On the way through the forest I was allowed to go for a canter through the brush. It was lovely! I also went for a canter up and down the beach too. I chose to go in the water and have some fun pictures rearing on one of the horses (the one used for alot of the photos). Sorry Steve - I got your lovely cowboy hat wet! I also stood on top of my horse and once with one leg on my horse and the other on my partners horse. There were plenty of photo opportunities. Steve took photos of the group and photos of us together. I have included a few of the photos. They encouraged photos and we have lots of great memories. Steve pointed out a few things along the way and that was fun too - wildlife, trees, facts about the island. I cantered back through the brush with another person and we were allowed to decide which route to take back to where we started. It was great! I have missed being allowed to ride outside of a group. He caters for all and you don't have to do anything you don't want to. My partner is not so experienced, chose not to go in the sea and went with some of the less experienced riders and thoroughly enjoyed it too. If I am ever back in St Croix again without a doubt I would go here again. I know there are other places on the island but this is THE place. It was SO much fun!Just to note on travel: We rented a car in Frederiksted and drove to Eat@Cane Bay. If you do not have an offroad car, don't take the "scenic" drive. The start of the road did not have tarmac and was full of potholes so we had to turn round and take a different route. We were a few minutes late but it was ok. It is possible to take a taxi too.

My Fiancee Jen and I stayed in St.Croix for just over a week. We met Cowboy Steve through my Aunt and Uncle. Cowboy Steve's passion for life and horses just blew my mind. Besides having an amazing experience with the horses, we also learned so much more about the horses themselves. If your looking to ride horses in St.Croix, I promise you; look no further. Noah and Cowboy Steve are an amazing duo who know the island inside and out! We miss them already!-Dean & Jen (NY)

Cowboy Steve and Noah are very nice, personable, and very knowledgeable about horses and the island. They took care of the less experienced riders but also made sure everyone had a great time. Worth every penny..

What do you get when you combine 5 first time riders with 5 amazing horses, and throw in a white-hat wearing Irish Cowboy named Stephen? An amazing ride over trails and the down the Cane Bay beach - including a spirited jaunt into the surf - Awesome!!! Our three teenage daughters were excited for this ride and it did not disappoint. I was fortunate to ride upfront - chatting with Stephen about the beauty of St. Croix, his journey to the island, and his beautiful horses. His smile and laughter made sure we were all safe and having fun. This is not a ride on a farm, in a pen, or in a circle - this was experiencing St. Croix from a very different and unique perspective. His helpers on the ride - Natasha and Noah - made sure everyone was enjoying this adventure. We highly recommend Cowboy Stephen and his horses !!!

My wife and I did an afternoon ride with Cowboy Steve. Awesome, awesome experience. When we go back we'll be scheduling another ride for sure!

I recently went riding with Stephen (for the second time). He has several horses and matches their talents and temperaments with the experience (or lack there of) of those of us on the outing. Stephen walked on foot, along with us. We rode along the shore which was beautiful. We then rode the horses out into the ocean and swam with them while Stephen used our cameras to allow us to take home our precious memories.Truly a professional, Stephen conducted an experience not to miss while in St. Croix.

We've been riding with Steve for 5 years now and it is one of the highlights of our vacation and the main reason we continue to go to St. Croix. This year was just as great as the others. There is nothing like galloping on the beach and then riding in the ocean in your bikini. Steve challenges you but always insures you are safe. Steve even said I was riding well which is a real compliment. My favorite is Blarney, a Paso Fino with a really smooth gait for my poor old back. I've ridden in many, many places and this is definitely my favorite ride. Swapping horses mid ocean is a blast.
