We visited recently on a cold, snowy day. We were actually on a ️winter road trip, and we noticed the signs on the highway and decided to stop. I tried the wine, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the wines. I am not a wine expert by any stretch,,but several of the wines tended to be sweeter, and that is usually what I prefer. My husband tried their distilled offerings ( free!) and they were very tasty. I also loved how the wines were named after animals that lived on the farm. The restaurant was not opened yet, but we chatted with a worker from the restaurant ( and a fellow NY Giants fan) and he mentioned that there are future plans to include brewing beer. We purchased some wine, and went on our way. Would come back, it looks like it would be really nice on a summer evening.

Started at the moonshine bar with flavored shine apple and cherry was great. Then went up stairs for some sandwiches. This place is casual and fun. The food was very good and somewhat unique. Will be back.

Thank you for your nice comments about Heston Farm Winery! Sorry we were low on stock on the dry wines when you stopped by, but we have some nice ones. Hope you can stop by on a sunny day and enjoy the courtyard and dinner at Foxfire restaurant, too. Glad to hear that you discovered the rooms upstairs in our meeting and event center. Every time I’m up there, I think I see something new. The restaurant is operating on fall/winter hours right now, so I hope you get a chance to try it on your next trip!

We’re very glad that you had such a nice experience in the Tasting Room at the Winery and that you enjoy visiting us at the farm! We try to make everything here casual and fun. I’m very sorry that you didn’t have an equally great experience at the restaurant. The restaurant has been very busy, and reservations on weekends are suggested, but not required, so as to alleviate long wait times. I apologize for the tone of the message from the host and appreciate you calling our attention to it. We’ve implemented some changes and discussed this with staff to prevent this from happening again. I hope that you’ll stop by the farm again for dinner. Please contact me personally if you have questions or if there is anything I can do to make your experience better. 304-366-WINE

Thank you! “We always have a great time here” is like the ultimate compliment! I’m so glad to hear that you’ve come to so many different events and functions here and had a great time. We’ve been growing by leaps and bounds and I apologize that we were a little short staffed on the day you were here. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Stop back and see us again! We’ve got more fun things planned.

My husband and I visited the Heston Farm Winery for the evening. Due to poor weather we were unable to sit outside however we had an excellent evening with the wine tasting assistant. The wine tasting has a fee however the moonshine products and other spirits are free to sample. Our experience with other WV wineries as well as other state wineries - the spirits are pricey as are some of the wines. A few miles north to Cheat River Winery will lend a more inexpensive experience with equally or better quality products and the wine tasting is free. There are a few very good selections the cab and the merlot are my favorites. The outdoor area is a nice place to enjoy a bottle of wine with friends; several nice sitting areas for small and large groups. There is a restaurant - somewhat pricey entrees; beer is sold on the premises as well. This is a nice wedding venue as well as a reception venue. There are multiple events at the winery including live music.

Staying at the Lakeview resort, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to explore Heston Farms. Everything is fabulous! Mr. Heston entertained us with his ingenuity and stories. We are so thankful for the time he spent giving us a tour. The wine is fun and tasty and the food is amazing and a value! Being at Heston is like your neighbor inviting you for dinner-just a good, relaxing time with hospitable hosts!

This past Saturday my fellow and I were headed to visit family and we were on the road for several hours. Just before arriving we decided to stop in somewhere to unwind from the road trip. We saw the sign for Heston Farm Winery and Pinchgut Distillery and had to give it a shot. Wow what a treat. We went into the Tasting Room and were immediately greeted by Ashley. She was all smiles and very pleasant. My fellow doesn't drink wine, however, with Ashley's infectious positive attitude we decided that we would do a full wine tasting. He actually liked two of the wines - liked them enough to buy one of each. We also sampled some whiskey. Just a nice way to spend some time. We then went next door to the restaurant and we were greeted and seated right away. I loved the atmosphere. Heather was our server who ensured that we had everything that we needed. At one point I must have made a face because Heather was over immediately asking what was wrong. Nothing was actually wrong, the dipping sauce that I had asked for wasn't bad it was just different than I expected and when eating a bison burger (with the smoky bacon and really melty cheddar) you need that just right sauce. Heather ran back to the kitchen and brought me another type which was perfect. What a perfect place to unwind! Oh, the fresh iced tea was very tasty too!

We were able to try several wines on a recent visit, and none were the type of wine that my husband and I enjoy. If you like homemade wine, light-bodied and sweet wines, this is the place for you. The distillery's ramp-infused bourbon was quite good, and would be wonderful as a glaze for salmon (with a little brown sugar added), but I didn't want to buy a $38 bottle just to cook with as I am not a "bourbon drinker". And since there are also reviews for the Foxfire Restaurant on this page (which should be reviews for the winery, the "attraction", only) I will only say that we all thought the restaurant was very nicely decorated and unique but the food is expensive for the area and does not at all live up to the menu descriptions (and our hopes).

I highly recommend going to Heston Farm Winery. This place is great for casual dining date or celebrating a special occasion. The menu has recently been updated with more choices as well as the place being expanded to accommodate more folks. Our first taste of Heston Farm Winery was their Pig Moonshine. It was an absolute hit at our wedding and our guests were craving for more. There is a taste testing area with the staff being extremely knowledgeable about all of the offerings. If you get the chance you must stop by and enjoy the scenery, the wine and some great conversation.

Heston Farm Winery is hidden jewel off the Pleasant Valley Exit on I-79. We have been frequent visitors since the opening and we are pleased with the changes/additions the winery has completed to their restaurant and overall menu selections. We have attended birthday parties, girl's nights, comedy/band nights and the recent zombie run this fall. We love the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant and the outside seating is perfect in the summer and fall seasons (complete with outdoor bands and firepit). The added seating downstairs allows for ALL family members to attend social gatherings without requiring difficult navigating of the stairs. The recently revamped menu items offer a great variety for all. From roasted red pepper humus to the traditional meat and cheese tray to steak and chicken options to vegetarian items. They also offer a kid menu featuring steak, chicken, grilled cheese and pasta. The selection of wines again offers something for everyone. I'm partial to the "Siggy" however "Jade's Sweet Reward" and "Little Red Train" are also favorites. For non-wine drinkers (we have a few in our group), the menu offers beer selections as well as typical soft drinks. Don't forget to sample the moonshine! The jugs of moonshine are packaged as pot-bellied pigs...perfect for a gift OR to keep for yourself. Make sure to check out their facebook page for upcoming events as they entertain many local bands and shows throughout the year. Definitely worth your time...You will most likely end up being a frequent patron.
