"The Christmas Present" concert here on a chilly Wednesday night, my cousin Sal treated us to a country western concert with three "surprise" acts, one of which was Cadillac III. Super nice venue, lots of room even though it was really crowded. Outdoor area for the smokers in your group. Security staff were very courteous but kept the peace without any difficulty, really impressive. Would definitely go back for another show sometime when we are visiting.

Been to The Emporium a few times -- bands have always been fantastic. Place is big enough to accommodate a lot of people with plenty of seating available. HOWEVER on our last visit, the designated drivers ordered ice waters at the bar. The bartender (Emily) told them she only had bottled water -- at $3.00 each. Driver's re-iterated they just wanted a cup of ice water thinking there was a misunderstanding, to which she again stated she didn't have - but they could buy $3 bottled if they wanted. HUGE turn off -- would think a club would be more supportive of designated drivers. We were there with a decent size group and wound up leaving.

This place holds many concerts and dance parties. I have only attended rock shows at the Emporium. The doors open at 8pm and the concerts begin at about 9pm, sometimes even later. The stage setup changes depending on the band playing that night. Major acts charge more while cover bands I've seen were only $10 each time at the door. The only drawback with the Emporium is that rock concerts tend to be on weekdays and end around midnight.

The Emporium is a must 'Visit', when you are in Ocean Grove, NJ. The Emporium has many beautiful one of kind items. From clothes to jewelry, if you enjoy lovely items different from the every day norm, this store is for you. Currently new Fall items are coming in. During my many visits, and many purchases later, I am enjoying everything.Victor is the owner and buyer. He has a great fashion eye! With a knowledgeable fashion staff. You will enjoy your shopping experience.Have fun!

I was at The Emporium yesterday for a B'nai Mitzvah Party. I was impressed with the room and the workers. The buffet was geared to the teens, but they had vegetarian and vegan selections. They even had vegan hors d'oevres. First time in Suffolk county that I was at a place that had a selection of food to meet everyone's dietary needs. I had ordered a kosher meal and they found me when the meal was cooked. So unlike other caterers who make me search them down and wait a good 30 minutes when everyone else is eating. The space is set out with different sections and you can comfortably hold a conversation when the music is playing. I loved the table area. They even had a bar in the dancing area. The lighting was perfect and the DJ fantastic. This is the place for a party!

I witnessed the most insane, horrific display of abuse of power. It was Saturday, October 19th 2013. I was outside and saw 4 bouncers bodily remove 2 men from the club. I'm ok with that, its what I witnessed after that disturbed me to the core. They beat one of the men in the street almost unconscious. While he was on the ground limp, another bouncer punched him dead in the face. What kind of animals are these bouncers?Honestly...I don't care what, if anything these guys did to get thrown out of the club. Remove them from the property and that's it. But to be beaten so severely in the street and to have to go to the hospital in an ambulance is horrendous and disgusting!I really hope that these bouncers will be held accountable for their vile behavior!Talk about an abuse of power! Stay away from this place!

Attended an event at this establishment and was pleasantly surprised. I expected it not to be my type of place. The venue was very impressive and the food was good. Reminded me of other bar/venues that I visited for concerts overs the years but with a touch of Manhattan style. The crown was an interesting mix of old and young. Was surprised at the level of live talent that the venue attracts. Look forward to returning soon.

We went to see Scotty McCreery. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the food was good. However the real reason we were there was to listen to music. The acoustics were really awful. It can make you dislike a performer that you like. Volume was also to loud for my taste, and the day after, my ears have not recovered.

We've been there twice, the first time we went with friends and had dinner there first, very good innovative dishes, reasonably priced. Then the show started...it was probably the venue we chose (80's hair band rock) but I thought my ears were bleeding, the sound system was horrendously loud, you couldn't hear anything when you left that's how bad the noise level was.We came back to see a Led Zeppelin tribute band (I know, we're suckers for punishment) and believe it or not, the level of sound wasn't as bad as the last time. We really enjoyed both groups and left without having to see an ear doctor!!

A bunch of ladies and I went here for a night out. We arrived about 7pm and there was a $10 cover charge per person. They did have food for purchase but we declined. Thet night the band playing was " That 70's Band". It was a great time! They also had a few drink specials but be sure to ask what time that ends before you order a drink.

Zoso was one REALLY decent Led Zeppelin copy band, much tighter and rockier than the waning Hammer of the Gods and didn't appear "wigged out" either. The sound at the front of the stage was pure rock and the stage is grand & roomy. The room acoustics and sound-reinforcement however did them no favors. The food was decent, the beer was cold with a good selection, food prices are slightly above normal for this town, seating was adequate although tables are a bit rough & beatup. Service was decent and fairly prompt. The waitress, although new to L.I., NY was personable and knowledgeable about the area and the menu. Regarding the sound system, the bottom has mushy bass but NO punch or dynamics, could not hear or feel the kick drum even on the dance floor. In the midrange one can hear about 1/3 of the vocals, the rest of the time vocals are way under the mix, the high end is raspy. Although everything is loud (no shortage of power) nothing is distinguishable except when everything stops for a drum or guitar break. The system is clearly pushed beyond its limit and everything is compressed to where no instrument sounds like it really does on stage and there was frequent feedback in the hi-mids & bass. The dynamic range averages from 114-117db with occasional peaks of 120. In an effort to sound loud in the room (no problem there) most of the attack, tone, punch and musicality is lost. When it comes to audio quality, a club of this intended caliber really ought to be able to compete acoustically with an iPod and a set of $25 headphones. If this place wants to earn a name as a serious music venue, then some professional acoustic tuning and professional audio engineering are needed to really turn things around. There are plenty of other clubs (89 North) or real music venues (Patchogue TFTPA) that offer a better musical experience and the ability to actually have a conversation and socialize with the people you're out with. Lastly, there was the nearly 30 minute wait outside on line in the cold because although they advertise “doors open at 6:00”, even the Security and Restaurant employees were not admitted in on time. When the doors finally opened, there was no real reason people couldn’t have been admitted & asked to wait in the bar or lobby until they were ready. I'd have to be firmly convinced that things have changed for the better before I'd waste my money & time here.

First I want to say... I REALLY wanted to love this place. It is close to home and impressive when you first walk in. I have attended 5 concerts here... EACH AND EVERY time the sound system was beyond terrible. I figured they just opened and needed to get the kinks out.... but then I heard that they really didn't plan well for this to be a true concert venue... and let me tell you it shows. I have walked out of all of the concerts before they were over shaking my head that I will never go back.... but this time I mean it and unless I find out they put some $$ into a suitable sound system they will not be seeing anymore of my $$ for their horrible wine, less than impressive food and tips for their crazy unorganized coat check line! Also the BIG THUGS they have at the door just makes the place look like they think they are all that... and they are NOT! Vanessa the event person is totally not even remotely handling her job effectively. I called... emailed and even texted her... even after she emailed me to call her and I did immediately... no response... wanted VIP seating asked and was told she would get back to me they were working on the plans... and then I heard about it on the RADIO!!! If they want to do themselves a favor they should go to the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey and listen to a concert their... same type of venue... not as much glitz... but the Starland Ballroom obviously knows what The Emporium does not.... THAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO HEAR A CONCERT!

Had a great time at "The Emporium" during the holidays. We had a fantastic meal while listening to "That 70's band" The food was presented beautifully and were large servings. I had the Fresh Lobster Ravioli...yummmmmm. We then moved to the VIP area for drinks and to listen to "Big Shot" who was appearing that evening. The bottles of liquor are served with such a flurish...fireworks and glowing labels.. It is very loud and hard to hear but that is normal for a concert. A fun place...try it!

Attended a company party on a Friday night and apparently it was over 40 singles night. Loud and packed with an interesting crowd. All of the staff from the doorman to the coat check to the bartenders were great. Seems like a fun spot.
