We were at SpalshDown last July. We took the grand kids there for the day. If you want a membership it's very reasonable for a family of 4. Expensive if just going for the day. It has lots of pools and slides to enjoy. It even has a beach. Food is not allowed in. You can bring water. There are a lot of food choices so bring quite a bit of money with you. There are also lockers to rent. The kids enjoyed the lazy river and the various slides through out the park We also enjoyed the Wave Pool. Make sure the kids are good swimmers. The park is spread out and at least 15 acres if not more. A lot of walking involved. It is very crowded and hard to control the meanderings of a 7 and 9 year old. If you live near by and need some summer fun then I recommend Splashdown. If you are only coming for the day you may have to spend for 4 people well over a hundred dollars admission.

I never heard of this place and I don't even remember how I came across it but I took my 10 &12 yr old here on labor day wknd and we had a great time. I've been to bigger water parks and even though Splashdown is small it was alot of fun. The kids got to do the rides they liked over and over. NO long lines. I bought the tickets online and saved some $. I found the cost of food to be the same as every other amusement park. The parking lot is close and you can walk to your car easily so pack food if you want to save. Also no charge for parking. I didn't purchase a locker b/c I didn't have valuables and left my bag on a beach chair by the wave pool. There were lots of chairs all over the park. That was a plus. Everywhere we went there were available chairs. We're from NYC and it took about 1.5 hours to get there, but we will def go back and we recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, calm water park.

This water park is only an hour away from NYC. The location is perfect, and near the highway,so easy access to it. The park is not to big, but it has lots of water slides, lots of lifeguards and very caring staff. The food is affordable, since they don't allow outside food. One more tip, if you want to bring your lunch and have all food packed, they have a another entrance just to allow you to bring your own food to a picnic area on the side of the park but with access to the water park. My family loves this park, since it is very safe for the whole family.

My family went here for a day trip and it was fantastic. Yes, it is expensive for a large family and the food is overpriced but it was great fun for everyone. We took a 5 and 2 year old and there was plenty to do. The park was immaculate and safe! The bathrooms and changing rooms were clean. There was also life jackets at every pool area for all different sizes so you don't need to bring your own. The park was also very accessible for strollers (and wheelchairs, if needed). My father is 70 and walks with a cane and he was able to get around. There were a lot of campers there the day we went but the place is so large it was not an issue. Also, you do not need to eat inside the park. It is easy to go back to car and get food to take to picnic area next to parking lot. We would probably do that next time. We live about 30 mins away and would even consider season pass next summer!

I went here three times this summer, in June, July, and August. I believe that June was the most crowded and that it got less so as summer rolled on.I purchased tickets online twice. There is a five dollar per ticket discount when buying off the website. There is also however a three dollar buying online fee for the entire transaction. Therefore, if you are only buying a ticket for yourself it may not be worth it, but if you are going with a group I would recommend this. When I bought tickets they were $28 per person for the whole day, although now I see that at the end of season the price drops to $23. This is for anyone over 42" and purchased online. You can also buy half day tickets for less cost.I arrived within an hour of opening each time that I went. The parking lot fills up fast, but parking was pretty painless. There were not any parking fees as large amusement parks tend to try to extort people with. There are people directing cars so parking is organized and quick. However, do not expect to get the closest parking just because you were there first. They were parking each row from the back of the lot to front. The park did not seem overly crowded most days, although camp buses would drop off and pick up many children throughout the day.Getting in the park was very easy. First you must stop at a table where two employees check your bags to make sure you don't bring outside food or anything dangerous. Each person was allowed to bring in one unopened water bottle. I recommend doing so. Everything in the park is expensive. There was not a long wait for the bag checks. Next you either purchase tickets to the left or go directly to your right and have them scanned if bought online. There wasn't too much line for either option and we got in quickly each time I went. (Although I always went on weekdays. I'm not sure how weekends are.)Once you are in the park there are lockers on your right and small open stores on your left. The shops have overpriced toys outside to entice your children., beware. It is not very clear, but you must go to the gift shop with the fake shark on top in order to rent a locker. If you are unsure of anything most of the staff is friendly and helpful. I used a family size locker each time. It was initially $16 which is pretty pricey, but you get $5 back at the end of the day when you return the key. The locker was large enough to squish in the towels, flip flops, sunblock, etc for five of us but it was a very tight squeeze. I thought it was worth getting. Near the front here there is a large sign with a map of the park. There are also paper maps in the restaurant, although you can't expect paper to last at a waterpark. The Cosimo's building was air conditioned with a front desk that had helpful employees. There are large clean bathrooms here as well. For the most part all of the bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. One sink of three ran out of soap once and someone said they would fill it immediately. The food at the restaurants was as expensive as you would expect in a theme park. Nearly double whatever it would be on the outside. It was decent, but nothing special. There is a small picnic area right outside the park if you would like to bring your own food. I thought this was worth it. In order to leave the park they give you a bracelet you can return. Again, it was simple with no lines. I kept some food in a cooler in my car and ate it there with my family. The area was clean and well cared for. There were ample picnic tables and garbage cans.I visited this park with children ranging from five to nine. I think this is probably the perfect age for this park. Very young kids will have only a few rides available to them. Teenagers may want bigger thrills than this park provides. The five year old most enjoyed the shipwreck lagoon and the lazy river. The seven year old loved the wave pool, although also seemed to enjoy the Pirate themed water slides and the shipwreck lagoon. The eight and nine year olds liked the water slides and half-pipe although they still liked the wave pool and shipwreck lagoon area. None of the rides had outrageous lines so we were able to do the rides many times. I was glad that they had information on the website about water testing, because it made me feel better having children in the water all day.The Rides:There are three enclosed water slides which you ride in tubes that share an exit pool. All three of these can be one or two person rides. The "Pirate's Revenge" and "Pirate's Plunge" rides share a line so it goes very quickly. Pirate's revenge is a good starter ride if your child has never done a water slide before. I think of it as the lazy river of water slides. It starts out open on top, but even as you are enclosed it is never pitch black. It sort of meanders down. It is not extremely fast or scary, but fun all the same. It is still a water slide. Pirate's plunge is similiar, but a bit shorter and faster with more of a drop to it. Each ride has an employee at the start going over the rules and safety. They are very friendly and made it more enjoyable. The "Bullet Bowl" was the third enclosed waterslide, but this one has it's own line. The line is usually longer than the other two as it is more fun. You are plunged into darkness as you descend, but then come out in a large toilet bowl type area where the water swirls you around the bowl a couple times before you slide down the second part into the pool. This is probably my favorite ride in the park. Normally adults will be sent out with enough force to get close to the stairs. Unfortunately my five year old niece's tube stayed near the exit of the ride and she thought she could jump into the pool area to get out. Instead she immediately went under water which was higher than her head. As any adult would do I jumped in after her, but was reprimanded and told to get out by the teenage lifeguard. Apparently I was supposed to wait for him to save her. There is a small "beach" area near here with lounge chairs if you want to relax. It was pretty deserted as most people don't come to a waterpark to relax. There were also absurdly expensive cabana areas which were pretty empty as well. The "monster wave pool" was a big hit among nearly everyone. It is made to look like a beach with lounge chairs on the outside. These were usually taken. The wave pool seemed like a decent size for the size of the park. People could go in as shallow or deep as they please. There was a buzzer to warn when waves would begin. The waves would go onabout twenty minutes or so and then would die down and it would be a regular pool for awhile until the buzzer would sound again. The "Humunga Half-Pipe" was the most thrilling and most crowded ride of the park. This is another tube ride that can be for one or two people. It seems less scary from the ground, when you are at the top it looks as if you are going straight down several stories. If you ride with two people, one person rides backward down, but as this is a half-pipe they will go back up the other side forward anyway. I thought it was pretty scary, but my eight year old niece loved it.The "Croc Creek Wavy Lazy River" was a nice ride the whole family could go on together. There was a little crowd at the front trying to get tubes from the river to start, but it was a nice ride once it got going. I thought this was a decently long ride. Each person grabs a tube and for the most part floats down. There are different things along the way such as buckets that may dump water on your head, mini "waterfalls", small sprinklers, or bubbles from below. The "Coconut pool" is your basic pool. I would think it would be good for young children, except it is too deep for very young children to play in. No one liked this pool very much."Shipwreck Lagoon" was very much enjoyed by all the kids. There is a large "Pirate ship" which has two small slides coming off of it. It looked like they had alot of fun. The larger slide however had an entrance on one end and an exit on the other. You can not see one side from the other and it is a distance around, so if you want to keep a close eye on your kids you basically need a parent on each end of this slide. The "ship" was located in a shallow pool of water easy for kids to play in. There were small and large fountains all over this area. This is a great place for children to play awhile. The "Bob the builder splash works" seemed to be for toddlers so none of the kids I went with played there. It looked like one of the few things that the youngest kids at the park could do.The "Bob the builder Dizzy's Water Whirler" was okay, but no one's favorite ride by any means. Four people are buckled in around a giant green or orange "bucket" each armed with a water gun. The bucket spins in a slow circle while also rotating around. You crank your water gun while everyone else on the ride and spectators all sqirt theirs. Everyone shoots water at each other while spinning. This sounds more fun than it is. I think this is most fun for very young children. When I went on two of the four water guns were not working properly. It's something else to try at least. The "Arctic Plunge" is a racing waterslide. You ride headfirst on a mat with handles in front. Four people can ride at once and "race" each other down. (The heaviest person will always win the race and lightest will always be last) This ride is worth trying, but beware. It was fun until I got to the end which has sort of speed bumps to slow you down. Most people found this uncomfortable, some people said it was painful. The last ride was the "Cowabunga Falls". This was again three slides that ended in the same pool. The lines went pretty quickly since they would split into three rides. These water slides you go down with no tube or mat, but on your back with arms and legs crossed. Each one is a little different so it was fun to try them all. One has a tunnel, one is faster, one more turns, etc. One of them was a little tougher on your back than the others. I think it was the orange one. I would recommend these though, they were pretty fun.The "Safari Outpost" was not a ride, but an animal show. My nephew was very interested in this and wanted to see it. They have each wild animal from monkey to large cats come out and do a trick. They do three shows a day, each one maybe twenty minutes long. My nephew really liked it. Although my sister and I were concerned about the animal welfare. I wish there had been information on how the animals were being cared for. I could not find anything about it on their website. They do birthday parties here and my niece asked her parents about this, but they ended up doing it elsewhere. Birthday parties here are $450 for a "basic" birthday. This includes ten kids and two adults. Kids each get a slice of pizza, drink, and piece of cake. I would never recommend having only two adults to watch ten kids here, but that is just my opinon.Overall, I thought this was a great park for children. The kids could basically do everything in the park and there was enough to keep them entertained. We stayed about four to five hours. This is close enough to home and less expensive than bigger attractions in the area. I would recommend this park as a summer treat to anyone with children.Remember to reapply sunblock!

We went on a Tuesday at the end of the summer so that camps were largely finished. It was a beautiful day and we arrived when the water park opened. We had the run of the place from opening until around noon. After that the crowds never let up. We had a great time and did all of the water slides at the beginning expecting increased crowds, but not to this degree. The rest of our day was spent in the wave pool or the lazy river. The wait times for the slides was an hour plus. Our family rented a cabana and it was the absolute best. Very clean, attentive service, and away from the chaos of the crowds. If you need shade your only bet is under one of the few trees or a cabana. I would definitely rent one againFood: many people have been saying how expensive the food is at the park. I found the prices to be as expected, maybe even under what I was expecting. Overall a great experience but minus one star due to the greed and not limiting crowds.

Not too big and not too small, just right! Things to do for kids of all ages and adults alike!...I love the fact that they have a large staff of lifegaurds in all areas, and all staff I've encountered have been very friendly and helpful. The negative side to this park is they accomodate lots of summer camps so it's very crowded from about 11-2ish. No outside food is allowed and the food/snacks there are extremely expensive, but they do have a picnic area just ouside the park so if you're looking to save $$ pack a picnic lunch..they'll give you a wrist band so you can re-enter the park. After 3:00 is 1/2 price, however, check website, some days the park closes @ 5p, so arriving at 3 will be a waste.

Took my 9 and 7 year old kids here over the weekend for some fun. And fun we had! All the rides were great. The parks not huge but definitely had enough to keep you occupied for the day. Yes it was crowded, but what water park isn't on a warm sunny summer weekend day. Biggest down side is the food. I don't mind paying $30.00 for a ticket into the park, but paying $3.09 plus tax for a bottle of water I do mind. All the food and drink is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced, so know that going in. Get there early for better parking and shorter lines, the later in the day the more crowded it becomes.

Take the nephews here every summer and they always have a great time. Its a great little place and they seem to add something new every year. There is water slides, tube rides, lazy river, wave pool, regular swimming pool, couple areas for the little kids to play and even a safari show. There is also an indoor arcade if you go inside the eatery in the front. Plan to spend most of the day here. The time really flies. General admission is $33 & $28 for the little ones so it is a bit of money considering the size of the place, although not that terrible if your spending the whole day and have a coupon. The food selection there is ridiculously expensive and mediocre at best like a typical amusement park, but hey your there to swim not to feast. If you can hold out there are a lot of great restaurants in the area to dine at after. All in all its a fun day with the family.

Went there for a birthday party so I got to experience the party room, arcade, cabana, and rides. With a 3 & 6 year old was unable to go on some of the bigger rides, but managed to spend 4+ hours on the attractions geared to those under 4". Food is expensive, as usual, but there was a decent selection. I wouldn't go out of my way for Splashdown, but if you're in the area it is worth the entrance fee.
