这条郊野径应该算是我最常走的一条了。因为很容易,路又平,而且沿途风景很好,有经过房子市郊,有绕过河道,有很多小公园。所以如果是一家三口去的话,我比较推荐。

If your bags are packed and you want something safe to do before you leave, this is the place to enjoy without investing time to get there. We always think of it in two parts - the start in town behind Hunter Creek Condos up to the bridge near the Red Mountain lot, or drive up to the lot and start from there. Definitely not "back country" unless grand homes and wide clear paths are part of that definition. The trail opens into the valley which is very pretty with beautiful views, relatively flat and trails are easy to follow. Step aside for the bikes or get run over. Take a picnic.

This is a great backcountry hike that is close to town. Paths a gelato belt clearly marked. Snow makes things a bit less clear. But if you are a hiker, this is something not to miss in the winter, with rivers, beautiful views and the serenity of surrounding mountains.

This is a relatively easy hike located close to Aspen. You can walk to the trail head from downtown. It climbs off the valley floor alongside Hunter Creek. Get there in the early summer for the high water flow. It's impressive.

We hiked the first quarter mile then shoed up, and we were glad we did. The signs were much improved from our last visit!

This is a fun trail. Hunter Thompson in the past blocked the trail, and hikers had to loop around his property. It is a scenic walk by rivers and meadows.

Slip on your hiking shoes and take off! This hike was so enjoyable. We started from Aspen, at the base. We hiked through the woods, crossing several bridges and in awe at the natural beauty of this trail. Not super challenging, but a great exercise to the top nonetheless. The hunter creek valley has an abandoned shack and horse stable to walk around and explore. It was truly magnificent with all the changing leaves at this time of year! A must see while in Aspen!

I love the trail as you get to hike in the woods and keep crossing the creek. Once you are on top it opens up to meadow. The dwarfed little Aspen trees up there are so cute that one can imagine fairies live there

Up the road from town and super picturesque. I highly recommend going for a stroll. You can walk this trial anytime of the year even when there is snow! Perfect if you have snow shoes!

Wonderful hike, views are beautiful along the way but once you are at the top of the trail, they are spectacular, especially in the fall!

This is one of the best hikes we have had in a long time. The trail is mostly easy and passes through some heavy forest along the creek with several bridge crossings. There are scattered large rocks that require walking in a steady zig-zag fashion. We stopped repeatedly along the way to take pictures of the creek as it roared downhill. After about 20 minutes or so, there is a stretch that gets a little steeper and rockier, moving the difficulty scale measure temporarily up a notch to a more like a moderate level. It is readily traversable by just pacing yourself and being sure to plant each step on stable ground or a flat rock surface. Basic hiking shoes help. My wife and I also each use a simple hiking staff to help balance on the steeper sections. You don't need fancy equipment here, but the basic stuff is helpful. If you are in reasonably good shape, you can do this with no real problem. The views are worth it. I also suggest carrying a bottle of water. And, take a camera! My wife got a couple bug bites so I suggest insect repellant as well.We got lucky and got a parking spot near the trailhead after driving around for a bit. We caught someone pulling out and moved right in. There were no other spots available for at least several blocks. It's not too far of a walk from town if parking is not available. But it was sure nice to have our vehicle there when we got off the trail.Note that the trailhead is about 30-40 yards from the through street. It took us a couple drive-bys to see it.

This hike was fantastic for our group of girls - none of us were avid hikers and one of the girls who did it was actually seven months pregnant. It feels like a "real" hike (rocky trails vs. a paved path) but it is very doable. I recommend following some of the little offshoots or small dirt paths to find the incredible mountain views.

Wonderful walking, going up themountain, wonderful views, creeks and trees, all spectacular and well-marked trails for your return!

Nice hike, following the Hunter Creek, which the trail crosses several times. We went in about a mile, then returned to town. We didn't encounter any bugs (i.e., mosquitos) even though the trail was kind of dark and damp in some places. Trail was pretty easy to traverse, with about average rockiness (not too much loose rock). The highlight, as the trail name would indicate, is the creek, which was running nice and fast with good water flow.

Our favorite easy hike in Aspen. Trail in good condition; fairly rocky but easy handled with basic hiking shoes. Took a video for the view and the amazing sound of rushing water because of recent heavy rains. Trail traffic increases after 10:00. Good hike to adjust to altitude.
