I went with the third grade class field trip. It was great! So much for the kids to do, and to learn. Well worth the stop

While the replica itself was a little hokey, we enjoyed visiting the park. There is a small nature reserve with animals native to Idaho (buffalo, elk, antelope, etc.). It is something to do if you have time to kill.

This gave good impression of what it was like for first settlers The cramped conditions and the starkness of supplies. There are lots of labels to read This could be improved but it is a small museum.

I feel that my fellow Pocatellans at times take this historical monument for granted. Yet, I am grateful for having many opportunities to visit it. It is a small location but with very big historical influence with the Oregon Trail. It is worth visiting for the price of admission and plus to help educate us more about how life was during that time period. Also, the museum itself is interesting because it helps us understand how Pocatello used to be like. At least for me it helps me come closer to my ancestor's lives being that they helped found Pocatello.

I followed the Oregon Trail and so in the process visited this fort. It's not the most elaborate thing in the world, but certainly worth stopping by. This was a Pony Express station, too, if I'm not mistaken.

very historical reproduction of what fort hall trading fort was like in its time. it sits right next to the zoo and is located in the Ross Park. close to town, freeway, university and visitor center of Pocatello

We visited the Fort and Museum with low expectations based on a couple of reviews here, but were pleasantly surprised with the fort, it's layout and attention to detail. I suppose if you were a local it might not impress, but being "from away" and just having seen the Lewis and Clark fort in Oregon I think this is a great replica. The physical condition of the exterior and interior is excellent. The exhibits within each area: blacksmith, meat room, trading room, officer's area are all well done and feature items within each room that match the era. Outside the fort are buffalo and elk. Then across the field is the replica of the old town with school, church, saloon, and other buildings...all in great shape. Then, to complete the package, is the Museum which features a wonderful history of the area. $4 did not ruin my budget for all of this terrific history. Bring the kids to see the covered wagons and the fire engine and let them see how people lived back in the day. This is a class attraction, but take the time to READ as you go; otherwise you may feel disappointed.

I still keep very fond memories of my visit to this fun place in 2007. What fun to ramble around, poking our noses into the rooms, reading about the fur trade and daydreaming. Must go again soon.

they should have a lot more things to show and prices are way to high for what you see.

This is a replica of the old Fort. You can walk all though the various businesses and houses of yesteryear. The staff is very nice and helpful. Kids would really enjoy a trip here. We loved it!

It was a fun place to visit as a child....but they could jazz it up a little. It has been the same way for as long as I can remember!

Small facility adjacent to county museum. Hudsons Bay Company trading post and fort. Open seasonally and a great place.
