It a fun place to visit, I have been here a couple of time for company events. It is interesting to see the history in each of the building. It is a nice little day trip for the family.

We arrived at this small village not knowing it was closed for the season but it did not matter to the staff there who opened up all of the buildings for us and answered any questions we had. Very nice way to spend the day

Usher;'s Ferry is a reconstructed 1800's village. It is very well done and set up nicely. There are a variety of homes and businesses to explore. A couple of the shops were not open which was disappointing, but it was a fun way to spend the morning.

Not an actual village, but a collection of historic buildings from around Iowa brought to one location. Quiet and enjoyable - a very interesting glimpse back at life in the area in the 1800s to early 1900s. Sometimes runs events (but I was not there for one). About an hour or so will allow you to wander around.

What a great family outing place. Love the park next to it called Seminole Valley.Great place to take the kids to learn about how they lived back in the 1800's and earlier maybe. Check it out!!!!

I haven't been here since the flood, but it had a great collection of old buildings and artifacts. Different functions take place through out the summer and fall. An enjoyable place to visit.

kind of Improv meets Sergio Leone in the corn. Walk up to the Sheriff and ask questions of him as though you are a citizen of this nasty little river village. He will play along. As long as you stay within the parameters of this ... waiting for God to?.......... you'll have some fun. Ask Sheriff about the ladies of the evening, and if they pay their tribute as they ought.

I met my sister there several years ago...They were celebrating a special day or year....While going through the school house & the family home...we were reminicing about so many of the items that we remembered using back in the early 40's etc..As we were leaving the home, A young couple with several young children stopped us and said "THANK YOU" for all the info you provided as we followed you through...The children had been asking "What is this and what is it used for??" and so many we did not know....You helped us learn as well as our children...This made my sister & my day.....that we could help them....

For many years I have donated my personal time to assisting at Ushers Ferry and have thoroughly enjoyed this investment of love. From painting historical buildings, to leading the singing of carols in the church at Christmas time, to reading children's stories in the sweltering heat of summer donned in chain mail and tunic, I wish to thank the Ushers Ferry staff for allowing me to share a part of history with others. While times have changed and my personal association with this venue has also undergone transformation, the quaint buildings and historical value of this little village remain the same.

This little historic village is a collection of houses from yesterday - the volunteers are informative and connect the visitor to a past era. It's a bit of a chore to locate, though.

We went here for the candlelight walk in the fall of 2011. Ushers Ferry is not what it used to be before the flood of 2008, however that being said, they have really done a good job of restoring some of the original buildings that weren't carried away in the flood waters. Most of the trinkets and such were also destroyed in the flood, but seems they have found more to replace the originals by donations and collections.

The volunteers and donors that work at this location take great pride in this village. We have spent many hours at this location.
