A super place to take the kids and walk or it's miles of trails. With wide paths and scenic views it make it one of our favorites.

I like the fireworks displays around the 4th of July. Both the downtown and the Ellis displays are great. The programs at the amphitheater are great also. It is also a peaceful place to hike or walk the dog. I live 4 blocks away.

I can't seriously believe there is a place to review the Cedar River. I drive over it every day getting to work. If I have my window down, it smells. When I park my car and have to walk to my office, it smells. The only thing that wants to be close to the river is the geese, and they leave their marks. They had to put spikes on our metal tree art to keep the pigeons off. Seriously, if you need to see the Cedar River at any point through it's course through Iowa, you need a vacation. It smells. It's dirty. Don't swim in it because the low head dams are dangerous. Don't eat the fish from it. There is no river walk, this isn't San Antonio.

I really like walking by the Cedar River trails! It's a nice river and it's the heart of Cedar Rapids. I would like to see the City maybe think about a floodable river walk-way like the one they have in Grand Rapids, MI and other places. It would be nice to walk on the banks of the Cedar River.

The Cedar river is a pretty river. Looking at it at night on the west side of the city , Looking towards Quaker Oaks is beautiful. Great for fishing and boating. The 4th of July Ellis Harbor is lit up and makes the river look magical.

The trail that heads south by the YMCA, is smooth and great for bicycle rides, roller blading, walking, or running. I enjoy a bicycle ride every week and in the fall the leaves by the river are so colorful, it is a very enjoyable time, I even bring my Chihuahua's in a bike basket, I think they love the ride even more than me.

Ran the trail route south of town. It follows the river. Nice views of the river. The path is paved. But it is not lit, so plan accordingly. The path (after it leaves downtown streets) is isolated. If you want to be around more people, go north. On the north side I lost sight of the river, but there is a stream with trout on a section.Nice and relaxing.

I would have liked to seen it when it was pristine, but still a nice river. In CR a nice place to river watch is Ellis Park. The boat houses are interesting, and you can watch people playing on the river. People enjoy the river all up and down it's run. It would be beautiful to cruise but the dam at CR shortens your run. Because it has been filled by erosion, people don't enjoy it when it floods.

Those of us who reside by this lovely waterway despise its ability to get out of control and flood lives away forever. While it is not the cleanest of rivers, it does provide opportunities for boating. While some continue to fish from the waters, I have chosen otherwise. Many enjoyable walking trails are present along the shorelines and the plentiful foliage is beautiful throughout the year. When visiting the area, please consider bringing along a life preserver for everyone in your party since the promised levees to curb the disastrous flooding were not developed and the community remains a ticking time bomb. When one traverses the river daily and the first thought is to observe the current water level, you know it isn't very stable. A drive along Ellis Blvd will provide visitors with a view of the barren lots that many Cedar Rapidians once called home. A monument to these loving souls should have been erected in their honor some time ago.

There are great trails along the river in Cedar Rapids. Beautiful nature and views. Great for hiking and biking, you can stop to fish at any point.

It's home. On the river daily. Whether ice fishing, washing animals, or watching the water...the Cedar River is my place. It changes as the seasons do and makes me smile all year around. Something to see constantly, and never has the same scenery twice.

Looking forward to spending more time canoeing, fishing, hiking and exploring all along the river. Appears to be a river in stages of development since the flood several years ago. Looking forwarrd to some good additions.

If you want to take a trip to see a river, you need a hobby. It's wet. It's big, and in 2008 it was angry and gave half the city a deep bath.Don't eat any fish from it. Also don't swim in it. People go missing in it every year.

Well, the Cedar River runs right through the middle of our town. Splits the east side from the west side. Flooded in 2008, destroyed many homes and structures. Other than that, not much to say. It's a river, nothing much to do along it but fish.

It's a river. There's fishing. There's boating. There's .....whatever else you do with a river..... I live nearby so I think it's great but if you want me to compare it to the Seine....well there is no comparison.
