Before 7:00 they were showing a reel of Jerry Lee playing, plus interviews. Then a band warmed up, tuned up and played. They were pros, but I'd have preferred the Lewis impersonator. The red beans and rice comes with a lot of meat in it, very generous cup. My pulled pork sandwich was good. This was a rainy cool Sunday night, so they didn't expect a big crowd for the top acts.
The guy working the door was cool. He sort of enticed us to come on in, and we were sure glad we did. As soon as we walked in, there was a guy singing Elvis songs, and he sort of looked like Elvis too. The waitress told us about their special WVU cups that had a special price on refills, so I got a little memento of the evening. Got to know the manager and he was really a nice friendly guy. Offered to get us a cab if we wanted to stay longer and not ride the shuttle bus back to the hotel. It was nice to be 700 miles from home and have people make you feel as welcome as the did at this place. Top notch, great time! Oh I forgot the highlight of the evening's entertainment was a guy who played the piano every bit as good as ol' Jerry Lee himself... he put on quite the show!
Looking for a place to relax, and enjoy the scenes on Beale Street, then try the top floor at this establishment. Great views for all the parades and activities that happen on Beale Street, sit back enjoy a cold drink, and try the Nachos with shredded pork.
Memphis is known for it's blues music, but this place rocks - as in Rock and Roll. We had dinner, drinks, and dessert here while enjoying the band. They were great and of course played a number of Jerry Lee Lewis classics. The lead singer/pianist was really into it and ended each act by setting the piano and drums on fire. Stop by and enjoy the show if you are in town.
We ate at Jerry Lee's, the food was good. They have a great, friendly guy working the door and the wait staff was great and attentive. Later we returned for a show, the Elvis impersonator was so entertaining and really made for a great and fun night in Memphis. The place was rockin'. I was drinking Rum and Coke and there was hardly any rum in the drinks... c'mon Jerry Lee - REALLY?? But there was no cover charge so the show was worth the price of admission Great Memorabilia on the road - outside Jerry's car is parked for a photo op. There is a huge projection screen in the dining area but during the day, it's too bright to really see (but we loved the large open New Orleans' esk windows). Music is playing constantly.
Spent late Saturday afternoon here for a live Elvis performance. Very entertaining, energetic and fun. Staff was great too!
this bar was brilliant, we became regulars. Jason James who does Jerry Lee was very professional and unbelievable on the piano and guitar, great entertainer. great at setting piano on fire too:-) we bought his CD he was that good. THe guy (Joey) that follows him sings Elvis/johnny cash, metallica, AC/DC - can sing absolutely anything and has great sense of humour. highly recommend this place, check it out on You tube
