It's been a while since we have visited this park, but we went back on a beautiful winters day. This is one of the best parks in the region and definitely one of the best for wildlife viewing. Birds you see all the time, but the highlight this time of year are all the turtles that can be found basking in the sun. We probably saw at least 20 on this last visit. This may not be the biggest park around but it delivers. For a popular park, the parking lot is a bit on the small side. Lots of walking paths and interpretive signs. Some historical and some natural. The highlights of the park though are the 2 boardwalk paths out over the water. The second one is where you'll find the turtles. The first one you're more apt to see more birds. Can't go wrong with either one. Plenty of benches are grassy areas to relax on especially on a nice day. Juanita Bay is the jewel of Kirkland

This park is pure nature. When I walk here I leave the stress of traffic behind. There are nice paths to stroll. It's not a huge park but it is lush with birds including red winged blackbirds and Eagles! When the sun is shining the many turtles shamelessly sunbathe on the logs. Shimmering dragonflies drift by and are mesmerizing.

This park has good parking and outstanding trails and is a good weather place for a nice walk or to take some photo's of some of the wild life in the park. Nicely kept up but some of the garbage needs speedier collection. I will definitely go back again with my camera

A small and very relaxing wetlands park with walking paths and boardwalks out into the wetlands with viewing platforms. We go here to walk and bring our binoculars to watch the many different bird species, including Eagles, all kinds of waterfowl and lots of songbirds. There are always families walking about and exploring the park, dog walkers too. This is a nice relaxing place to visit!

This place is quiet, too quiet for me. But if you want to enjoy lake Washington, read a book or enjoy the wildlife, this is the place!

This park is lacking in the playground department. It's sort of small and the kids lose interest very fast which is no good. About 5 minutes down the road is Waverly Park and the playground is a little better.

it is a place just next to the Lake and one can spend some time here in the park. OVER ALL this park is good to relax after spending time at the Lake side.

Nice playground and beach area...good for digging and lake swimming when it's warm. The children's swimming area is enclosed by a boardwalk so you don't feel like they'd be swept out into the sound.

A pretty large park for just enjoying the outdoor activities like frisbee and the like, but best part is walking out on the walks over the marsh and lake. Lots of wildlife to see, a very peaceful setting. Visit during the week to avoid crowds, perfect at 9am on a weekday.

My son loved running around the trails and bridges, looking for turtles and watching the birds. Such a nice quiet place. We also had our family pictures here last fall.

Great walk on a former road/bridge through the wetlands! I've seen swans in the winter months, red tail hawks, woodpeckers, eagles... very enjoyable.

My boyfriend and I moved out here two months ago. This is heaven on earth as he said it was. He is a former Army Ranger getting through his PTSD symptoms very well now that he is in Kirkland Washington. We moved from NJ and that place kept him on edge. We are an interracial couple and life here is good for us. People are so friendly then there are mountains lakes animals marine life ocean views fine dining adventure health and fitness music walking and hiking biking snowcaps just to name a small few things that I love. My Ranger wanted me to move out here 7 years ago if I knew what I know now I would in a heart beat. My boyfriend is so relaxed I am too. Life is awesome here. He is a smoke jumper now and we have a cozy apt in Kirkland. If you have an Army Ranger in your life and he wants you to come to WA get over yourself and just do it. You will be so happy you did.
