This was our first stop on our recent wine tour. The winery is located in the middle of the vineyards and is beautiful to drive too especially on a snowy evening. The wine is good, especially if you like dry wines, nice selection of souvenirs, and the food was very good and reaonably priced. They have bands playing Friday and Saturday nights which will fill the restuarant, but don't shy away because this place can handle a restaurant full of patrons and provide excellant food and service. Was so impresseed with a group of 18 for dinner on a night when the restaurant was full with other large parties, that we had our food and check within one hour of our reservation time! Steak and lobster was excellant and reasonably priced.

The owners moved an old church to this location and the resulting winery is obviously unique because of that. Add very good wine, wonderful views of their vineyard, a great outdoor area and you have an outstanding winery experience!

This winery is adorable. Service is fast, service easy little snack plates (bread, apples, cheese), tasty wine, unique space, and a beautiful outdoor area. We have been to this winery 4 times!

We stopped here while on a wine shuttle tour. Beautiful setting. This was the most unusual winery we had ever seen. Loved it! They even allow small picnics as long as you don't bring a cooler. Bread and cheese plate: $8.00, Glass of wine: $6, Bottles from $17-$29. Tried the wine sample tray - 4 wines for $6. Very tasty. Blush Ice was our favorite. Interesting beers available too. Bartender was friendly and poured generously. It was the week before Halloween when we arrived. Unusual to see an old church decorated for Halloween. Quirky, but fun. (See pictures.)

Our favorite place to stop when we go to the wineries. Great wine, great view, great atmosphere. Nice to sit by the fire and enjoy a bottle of wine. Can even bring your own snacks such as cheese and crackers to enjoy with the wine.

I've been here twice, and both times I have found the scenery spectacular. There is nothing quite like walking out the back door and on to the patio and seeing the sun set over the vineyards! While I've only been to a few other wineries in the area, I'd be surprised if this isn't the prettiest one!

We tried the wines here during a very slow time... we were the only ones. It's a nice location, the wine house is in an old church - and the views over the winery are very nice.I think a weekend visit would be better than an early weekday.

What a beautiful setting for a winery!! This little church is an absolute must see on your list of wineries in the Geneva area. Their wine is also very good and they serve it properly in a wine GLASS, not a little plastic cup! The outside porch has a gorgeous view of all the vines and is just a great little place to go. I'll definitely be back here.

Go here to drink some good wine on the patio but not to get a tour of the vineyard or learn how wine is made. Cute location.

My husband and I recently stopped here on a tour of some local wineries. I've read some concerning reviews about the staff, but on the day we went there were only some girls behind the bar. The converted church is really unusual and cool. The serving area is pretty small and crowded, and there are not a lot of places to sit inside. There wasn't any food either. But as it was a gorgeous day, we took our wine outside to enjoy the outstanding views. Absolutely gorgeous!

This was our first visit to the winery. It's an old church that was moved to this spot, which added to the special feeling of the place. It was a picture perfect day, and we got the cheese and cracker plate and enjoyed our wine outside on the covered patio. (they also allow you to bring your own food in) We could actually see some people working in the vineyards as we sipped our wine. Very pleasant day-we will return!!

This winery has a nice outdoor patio which we can enjoy picnic with our own foods. I recommend dry-reiesling which is much drier than regular. This small winery is my favorite of all in Geneva-on-the-lake.

I love the setting of this winery and their wine is my favorite in this area. This winery is a beautiful old church and has a gorgeous patio. My only negative commentary is the owner has been rude to us a couple times, but I still would recommend this winery to anyone visiting this area.

Having grown up in the Cleveland area, and being a wine-lover, it is a surprise I hadn't heard of South River before. My mom and I drove up here from the southeastern suburbs and were not disappointed. South River is gorgeous! Since we had such a long drive home, we only shared a flight of wines between us. We tried the Pinot Grigio, Creation, and Temptation. They were all good, but my favorite was by far the Pinot Grigio! We loved sitting out on the back patio area, soaking up the view of the vineyards, distillery, and the gorgeous architecture! While South River does not sell food, patrons can bring a picnic to enjoy at one of the many tables, or the shelter house down below. We saw a couple with a Scrabble board and agreed that this would be a great idea as well. So glad South River was recommended to us! We had a fun afternoon and this was our favorite of the wineries we visited!
