navaho code talkers exhibit

The Navajo Code Talkers exhibit at the Burger King was very well done, such a surprising find for a fast food place. They also had Wi-Fi and comfortable seating, plus a play area. A great place for a family stop or to get a fast food fix after time traveling in the canyons. It is like another world out there in the red rock.

I'm not sure why TripAdvisor rejected my request to correct the spelling in the name of this attraction. "Navajo" is spelled with a "j" not an "h".This museum-quality exhibit is well done. There are additional posters and photos of the code talkers in this Burger King, plus an educational video. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area to visit Monument Valley.

Signs along the highway advertise the Code Talkers exhibit - in a Burger King restaurant. Strange place to have it, but as we were getting ready to leave Kayenta, we stopped and took time to view the displays and story boxes. Love reading about one of the mothers receiving a box of Japanese flags.. and the story that she tells. I had to laugh and so glad she shared her story too.Worth a stop!

My son loved the movie WindTalkers, so he would've loved this. They had real equipment and pictures of the real guys. I took pictures while the locals gave me funny looks.

Great slice of WWII history nestled in a Burger King?? Oh well, it is a small exhibit, but has some really decent historical significance and artifacts. I'm just confused as to why this is not in a museum or some place more appropriate. This display deserves more respect. Also, it's "Navajo", not "Navaho" as noted in the title.

We were surprised to find this high quality exhibit in Burger King -- unusual, but this exposes the Code Talker history to lots of people that would not take the time to stop at a museum (like us:). Being a small and targeted exhibit, people can learn about an amazing slice of history without investing much time. Important, interesting, moving stuff here.

The code talkers museum starts in the Burger King then moves outside to the shade house. Worth the stop to catch up on a very important part of our history.

This museum deserved to have its own building and extension, but instead it is incorporated into a fast-food restaurant. BOOO!

A good, if small, exhibit dedicated to the Navajo who contributed to the Allied war effort. Worth a stroll there if you are staying in Kayenta.

This was a very interesting exhibit in the museum. However I found it larger than the overall exhibit, there is more to the Navajo's than the code talkers, let's not outshine the overall history

I learned so much about the code talkers and their major contribution to WWII. There was also very good history of the Navajo people.

very informative exhibit. the Navajo are very patriotic and proud of this, and rightly so. easy to find, it is inside the burger king.

We stopped in at the Monument Valley visitors center, where we highly enjoyed this exhibit. It had been planned with great thought and carried out very professionally. We had heard about the code talkers, and here we learned much more detail about them. It is well worth stopping by for.

We stayed ar the Hampton Inn right next to the Burger King where the exhibit is. They have a laptop that gives you information and there are 2 small areas of articles and memorablia. There was also a little storage house called the Shade House you can visit but it was locked at the time we were there. A very interesting exhibit. They have books for sale at the Hampton Inn.

Ther in Kenya a Burger King has a nice exhibit, a big part of US win the war. Have Navaho homes outside on the grands .
