The Velvet Note provides the most intimate settings which allows you to fully absorb the live entertainment experience. The acoustics are simply amazing! There are no bad seats in the place & you have the oppprtunity to interact with the performers after the show! Staff was courteous, professional & attentive. The only downsides to this place is that the food is a bit overpriced for the portion size received & food is served on plastic plates with plastic cutlery. In a nice, swanky venue like The Velvet Note, I would have expected real dishes & silverware. However, I highly recommend you visit & experience TVN for yourself as I will be returning in the future! Kudos to The Velvet Note!!!

This was my first time at The Velvet Note and I was totally impressed. A friend found out that one of my favorite not-yet-fully-discovered duos, Roman Street, was playing here and we decided to make the drive across town. Didn't eat here but the drinks were great and the acoustics were nearly perfect for a nice intimate club. Had a great evening listening to some very talented young men get the room in the mood for the holidays. I will definitely plan to return!

We absolutely loved our time at The Velvet Note. The musicians were incredible, and the food (served on plastic) was also really good. We would give it 5 stars, but there was a bit of a mix-up on our food order so it took quite a long time to come out. Our appetizer and drinks were served and refilled very promptly. I can't wait to take people here when they come to visit us. I am just still very pleasantly blown away! :)

If you're looking for a great place to take a date on the weekend. This is the spot. It's different and appealing to those not looking for anything "over-the-top". The venue is located in a small strip mall that makes it look a little out of place, but its visible from the street at night because its the only one with a lighted marquee. It's kind of classic "hole in the wall" with a nice jazz ambiance on the inside. The MC states that room is "acoustically sound" to provide optimum listening without a lot of amplification. I enjoyed a prominent local trombonist (Wes Funderburke) and his band. The price of the event was very reasonable and you have the option of pre-ordering tix online too. The drinks were made with bravado by an experienced bartender. I didn't order food but they do have a menu.If you like to be up close and personal - this is a great spot. Great acts, great service, memorable fun!

Okay....I am telling you up front that dinner and dessert comes on plastic plates with plastic silverware...The food is a good value...The entertainment is beyond compare for the burbs of Alpharetta, GA. We just saw Roman Street and they were thoroughly enjoyable...Great value and a great evening..Highly recommended for a Saturday night date night!!!!

Open mic night is great too and a very good value, if you can get in after the place fills up. Incredible talent shows up every Thursday for open mic, and I've never left disappointed. Great drink menu, and the light snacks we've had there have all been good. Love this place!

Residents of North Atlanta, like myself, are extremely lucky to have this unique music club in our backyard. It is located in a strip mall off Old Milton Parkway, and so you will likely be very surprised once you enter the doors. They call it an Acoustic Living Room, and that is exactly what it is. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and relaxed. The performers are some of the most acclaimed in the business - jazz, blues, piano. And it feels like they are performing just for you and your friends. Go early so that you get your pick of seats. And buy tickets in advance. More and more folks are learning about this special place! Go with friends, or make it a date night. Either way, you will enjoy your experience at this place!

Went to see Linda Cole last night. Our first time at this venue. What a treat! Perfect small jazz setting, amazing acoustics, good drink and food. I can't speak to the price of the food as I purchased a Groupon which included their signature dish, Crab Cakes along with the show. We will definitely be back and will be bringing more people for their first outing at this great venue! Don't wait till the last minute to try to get in, this place has amazing performers in from all over and they sell out. Did I say it was small? And I LOVE that they serve everything on plastic with plastic utensils, no clanging while listening to the music. The only thing I did not really like, although a good idea, is when the wait staff goes around to give the bills out and collect the money during the performance. It is a little disruptive taking the credit cards on the iPad right at the seats.

Excellent venue. Small, outstanding sound, good visibility. Servers polite and efficient. Food was great. Joe Gransden with bass and piano was outstanding. Will definitely return. Great for anyone who likes jazz.

My wife and I attended our first show at the Velvet Note. We're jazz fans and have attended jazz performances at festivals, clubs (from big city to local hole in the walls) and feel we know when a location has a good vibe or it doesn't.The Velvet Note is close to pulling it off completely.Pros:Sound is exceptional. That of course is a huge plus since poor sound quality is usually what stops true jazz fans from coming back again to a venue.Location. Easy parking and located in North Fulton so no need to suffer Midtown headaches.Price. I don't mind paying almost $50 admission for the beginnings of an evening out with my girl and enjoying a well performed jazz experience. No drink minimums, so the place needs to make a profit and I feel that price point is quite fair.Cons:Arrival and seating is a mess. We arrived 20 minutes before showtime and were told we couldn't wait in the foyer. Its tiny and there isn't a bar to enjoy pre-show. So we went back outside to the ice cold winter night and sat in our car. 10 minutes later we see folks going in. We follow and now they are seating folks in the prime seats as they walk up to the podium. But, we were here earlier than them and told to leave...what!? Now we find ourselves in the uncomfortable position of trying to figure out who got there when. Poorly organized. Seats are folding card chairs with a remarkably inadequate seat cushion. Chairs are good for 20 minutes of sitting, not 2 hours. You have a wonderful ambiance to the place and you're sitting on glorified lawn chairs. Upgrade your seats y'all, c'mon now. Food and Drink:We dined out before arriving, so I can't speak to the quality of the food fare. We did order wine and I was presented with a large red wine glass amply filled with a good red zinfandel. At 9 bucks I felt it was very fairly priced. My wife had coffee and chocolate mousse cake. We split dessert and felt it was fairly priced and of good quality. You check out by having the waiter come to your table with a tablet that he swipes your credit card, you push a button indicating the tip (15, 18, 20% are the default choices) and you're done.We will return (I literally might bring my own cushion - I have a bad back) so I'm a fan thus far.

This jazz club was great and I would have given it 5 stars if the menu had more selections for healthy eaters/vegans/vegetarians. The live jazz band was great! The ambiance was very warm and cozy. The acoustics were excellent. The service was good. A great place for a date night. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but it was a good thing that we ate before we went, since their menu for limited for us. We did enjoy our coffee and fruit sorbets. All in all, I would definitely go back!

We had such a great time listening to the Earth, Wind and Fire Tribute featuring Robin Latimore. The laid back setting made it an intimate jam session and the acoustics were perfect. I will definitely become a regular. If you drive by fast, you might miss it but don't let the location fool you. This unassuming little spot is big on personality inside!

We enjoyed the AMP Trio performance on Friday, May 31 at the Velvet Note immensely. It's an intimate, comfortable space where the audience is all there to listen. The atmosphere is very conducive to being immersed in the music and really taking it all in without being interrupted by loud conversations or people walking around in front of the stage.However...this got a 4 and not a 5 because the food and drinks are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I expect to pay $9 for a beer and $12 for a margarita in Manhattan, but seriously, this is Alpharetta. In a shopping strip. We had the crab cakes and meat and cheese tasting "platter". Crab cakes were passable, may have been made in-house. The meat and cheese "platter" was literally some Kraft Colby Jack cubes, a piece of salami, and some crackers. We ended up with an $80 tab for a beer, a Scotch, a margarita, and our two appetizers. But, now we know!Go to the Velvet Note for a relaxing evening out to enjoy great music, but make sure to have dinner before you go unless you want to leave with an empty wallet!
