When you are in its hall you understand what you have read about it. Just have a good look on every wall

Went in to look at the entrance- way tiles which were amazing to see .Small shops inside and access to trains in several languages.

In the entrance foyer of this rail station you'll find one of the most significant architectural beauties this wonderful city has to offer. The walls are covered from floor to ceiling (20 feet or more to the top) with beautiful hand painted ceramic tiles depicting the entire history of the city. I'd be exaggerating if I compared it to the Sistine Chapel, but it has a uniquely compelling fascination for the eyes, and I've never seen the like of it in a train station before.

The tile art in the main entry of this station is definitely worth a look! I was really blown away by how intricate it is. Also train travel is a cost effective way to get around in Portugal. We got a reasonably priced train from Sao Bento to Braga.

One must save some time for a short visit tp this beautiful, centrally located train station. The artwork is fantastic and will take you back to a time when train travel was a very elegant way to get around. Just stunning.

The ticket office was very helpful in finding me a train to Lisbon for 20 euros the day of. The tiles in the lobby are all about the history of portugal so go there with a guide!

The station is famous for its tiles - and its true, its beautifull. Lets see. Tipical blue blue azulejos.

LickeyB

Not just an Urban railway station but a gallery of superb traditional azulejos tile panels that adorn the interior. Spend some time enjoying them and catch a later train!

A stunning entrance hall depicting various facets of Portuguese history make this well worth a visit. The work was done using tiles to create massive murals. Just stand and stare.

If you do not see it you will have no idea what you have missed. Photos do not reflect the actual beauty of this place. As for me it was one of the best attractions in Porto.

Rail station built in the end of the XIX century, it is decorated with marvelous coloured tiles (not the usual white & blue) and it is located just in downtown andused by suburban trains (steam trains not any more...)
