An important touristic objective wich may not be missed.Inside you'll find the bones of a saint named Saint Parascheva, who is the saint of poor and ill people. If you will pray at her side you will feel more peacefull . Beautifull walls painting can be admire. The cathedral is face to face to the City hall, also a historic building.

I was here last year on April, on Sunday, maybe not the best moment to visit the Cathedral as it was full of people. No fee to enter, but too crowded.

Although under restoration for the last years, the imposing air of the Metropolitan Cathedral from Iasi is something you will feel no matter if you are outside or inside the Cathedral. The construction of the church started back in 1833 and what we can see now is the result of years of hard work and of plenty of great personalities'opinions and contributions. Besides its architectural importance, the Metropolitam Cathedral is famous for the fact that here are the relics of the Saint Parascheva, relics that bring together hundreds of Christians all year round, but especially on 14th of October, when the Days of Iasi City are celebrated. You can find out more about Iasi and its main tourist attraction at the following link: http://www.rolandia.eu/iasi-city-many-facets/

The metropolitan cathedral is a very masive and imposing construction in the center of iasi. For the people here it is very special because there we can find the relics of saint paraschiva which is tought to be the shielding of Moldova. I was here on the 14 october when by the ortodox calendar is the saint parascheva day, the day when all people that want to come and say a preier, bring flower to her relics and ask for wellnes, for happines, for peace, are heard and listened from her. It is a day when the city of iasi is full of pilgrims. For me it bringed a special energy and peace inside myself. If you come to iasi don't ezitate to come to the cathedral and see by yourself what mixture of feelings can have.

It is of course an architectural monstrosity, the inside painting is a modern style, and it is really getting wrecked inside! Was there a fire or something? I've been visiting for almost 20 years, and it looks worse every year. But is it worth the huge investment to maintain it? It must be a real money suck. Maybe they should tear it down and build something more beautiful! Or go back to using the old Orthodox cathedral next door. So many lovely churches in Iasi but this isn't one of them.

Loved seeing this gorgeous place during my visit. It's a beautiful sight and I highly recommend it. Should be kept cleaner tough.

Being there at Xmas whereas everywhere they try to enlighten the city with decorations, you reach an outside looking dark place in reconstruction ...Inside it is a typical Orthodox church and looking nice but nothing exceptional, with intolerant priests ...My visit was taking place in the context where Orthodox church is claiming from the state billions of investment, constructing one to four churches per month whereas barely you get one hospital repaired or constructed per year in the country ... a country where most medical requests have to be paid privately ...

They should drop the fences separating church from the city. Nothing spectacular. Nothing for the average tourist

Big and representative Orthodox Church, it's definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately they are not very organised touristic wise but it is beautiful and its big garden as well.

It is nice, but nothing to write home about. It is hard for me even to remember now how it look on the inside. If you only have time for one - go for the 3 hierarchs.

Has not cjanged, which is good. Partially under repairs. Inside is in the similar condition as in the past. Long line to see Parascheva saint.

As written in many reviews, this church, which is actually the Metropolitan Cathedral and is home to the chiefs of the orthodox church in Moldova, houses the holy relics of Saint Paraschiva and there is also a huge festival in October when hundreds of thousands of people come to pray at the saint. What I personally like about it is the architecture. It is not typical for a orthodox church(Romainan, Greek or Russian). It is interesting, beautiful, more related to western architecture, with a huge inside area and very beautiful inside paintings. At almost every moment there is something going on in there so it is not like visiting a museum, you can actually feel the spiritual life in the air.

The Cathedral Church of the city has the wonderworking Holy Relics of St. Paraskeva who was from Thrace. I have been to the Church numerous times and venerated the Holy Relics.

we went there on easter eve this year, this is the biggest church in Iasi area, its very nice, inside the church there's the holy body of St. Parascheva that make miracles, hundreds of thousands of people visit in the 2nd week of every october in Iasi to commemorate St. Parascheva. in that same time there's a week long of celebrations in Iasi.

This is a very beautiful church, located close to the centre of the city, very easy to find. People come on pilgrimage to this cathedral every year on the 14th of October, when it is the St Parascheva's Day, the patron saint of the city. It is worth visiting and inspiring. I definitely recommend it.
