Alpine air was amazing, the intersport ski instructors were excellent and give you the most dedicated novice lessons on in the Alps, especially Nina for Skiing and Marco for snowboarding. The town of Kranska Gora celebrates Christmas in true Fairy tale style and offers the traveller a magical journey through Slovenian culture.

We drove up through the national park at twilight.Gorgeous views and we found the first snow of the season, right up at the top of one of the mountains.Felt a bit like I was driving on Top Gear- lots of switchbacks on the road. Well worth it.

This area has fantastic views. I would like to come back again but link our route together in a different way. The mountain huts are all welcoming and have good food.

Beautiful scenery. Would love to go in winter. The people are friendly and helpful and it is very easy to get out and about on public transport.

Charismatic guide who took us on a route we wouldn't otherwise have found. Lovely countryside wherever you go.

we did not like the rain but hiked despite it and drove the 50 hairpin road to #30 and the views were astounding. We have visited almost every national park in the U.S. and usually find nothing to rival them but this was great.

We rode around the national park for a couple of days on Motorbikes from the Hotel Lek in Kranjska Gora. Be careful on the Mountail pass right outside of the Hotel as some of the Hairpins are cobbled.Lake Bled is worth a visit on your travels however it can get very busy in Summer weeks. The roads are not as well surfaced as Austria but much better that Italy.Lastly make sure you stop at one of the village restaurants to see what a rural bar/restaurant looks like, the one we stopped in had pictures of the locals dating back to the 1930's as well as lots of pictures of communist times with soldiers in uniform.

This national park is very well preserved and it offers a variety of adventure opportunities as well as various leisure activities. It feels like heaven due to its natural scenery with lakes and mountains. Hence, it is definitely worth exploring when you are on holiday in Slovenia since it provides a memorable experience.

Very nice park with many options for leisure activities. The views are great espacially the Vrsic pass.

We liked everything. Driving through mountains. Walking to waterfalls. Looking around nice town of Krajnska Gora. Good accommodation and food.

ValBFarnborough

It was a moderate walk to the base of the mountains, through meadows full of mountain flowers and the forest then back along the river. Good photo oportunities

There are many good trails for day hikes. Some are difficult terrain and steep. There's often a fee for parking at traheads, so have cash available. The wildflowers are fantastic. It rains a lot in July, but It's not cold. Carry rain gear.

It is quite a huge area. However, simply amazing. You won't be able to drive to best places but you have to walk. Sometimes even 7 or more hours. Therefore, be really really careful when going on Triglav or some other mountains - remember, those are the Alps. Therefore, forget the slippers or going by yourself if you are not an experienced mountaineer. And most important - respect the signs and weather. You can get lost very easily and you may end on some climbing wall instead of on one easy going path. Numerous accidents happen in mountains because travellers are not prepared for the mountains.

The towering Alps above Kransjka Gora are for mountain lovers although there are easier walks through valleys and up the easier slopes north of the town and there are many well used cycle tracks. The summer bus over the pass (road closed for about 6 months in winter) gives easier access to some of the big mountains. Just a warning that some paths can get closed due to rain/snow damage and the tourist office map is non-too accurate and disintegrates fast.
