The view over Piran is the best from this place. OK, maybe also the tower next to the church can compare with it. However a tourist might welcome an information table or a plan, that would enable him to better understand what he sees before him. Be prepare to climb a bit!

Amazing views - I nearly didn't go up as the view from the street is quite nice, but going up to view Piran is worth the tiny amount of money. I definitely recommended it!

We were only in Piran for the afternoon, but we were told to take a hike to the town walls. We walked the steep streets up to the entrance of the walls, which was a workout in its own. To access the walls, you one Euro coin to get through the turnstile. There is a little restaurant next to the entrance that has drinks in small cooler for purchase if you need change. There are a few different levels on the walls, so if you can't/don't want to climb any more stairs, you will have a nice view of the town and sea. Worth one Euro.

Its worthwhile the make the climb to visit the town walls. The view is worth the effort !.There are some interesting small shops on the road up from the town square.

There is a bit of a climb to get to them, but interesting nonetheless and it is a good view of Piran. There is also a restaurant next to the entrance, although we did not eat there. If I remember correctly, the fee is 1 euro to get in - use a coin to access.

For a Euro you can walk along the old town walls and up a couple of towers for stunning views of Piran

Part of a private tour of cave, castle and the town of Piran. When we got there, the sun came out and it was beautiful.Climbing the stairs of the wall can be cumbersome, they are very tight.Once you are up there, the view is amazing. You are overlooking the whole town which is like a finger sticking in the sea, and you can see Italy from there as well, if it is clear.

We parked close to the old town walls of Piran (which made it easy to get to them!) and then ventured downhill into the town afterwards. The view of Piran and the Adriatic from the walls is incredible. And the admission cost of €1 is a bargain! Lots of steep stairs and ladders that take visitors to the top of the walls - likely not suitable for people with mobility issues. Dogs are allowed on the grounds of the walls (though the admission gates), but not on the walls themselves. The contrast of the medieval walls and the old city of Piran with the modern sports fields that back on to the walls was fascinating.

As you climb the hill just keep telling yourself the view is going to be worth it, because it will be. It's up the steep from the church. The very well preserved walls make for a great vantage point of the town and surrounding area. Getting to the top requires navigating some narrow stairs, though. Be sure to keep your head down or risk getting it bumped. You will need a 1 EE coin to gain access. If you forget it, the nearby restaurant will make change for you.

It's not easy getting up to the Town Walls, but it is worth the uphill walk. Have one euro ready to put in the locked turnstile to enter the grounds and access the stairs to climb to the top of the walls. The views of Piran and the Adriatic Sea are stunning and you can pretend you are a crow on the Night's Watch!

The walls themselves are interesting, but the reason to come here is for the view of Piran. It doesn't take long to get here from the center of the city, but it is an uphill walk.

This is the best place to get a 360-degree view of the surroundings. As you would expect, the stairs are steep and narrow and there is quite a bit of a climb to reach the town walls, but it's definitely worth it! As of August 2014, the entry fee is 1 euro. There is a change machine at the entry.

irenau2014

The entry is 1 € - please make sure you have change with you. And from there you can see the whole city Piran. It is amazing. Especially if you go there to the the sunset. You have to go here when you are in Piran.

make sure to bring 1 Euro coins per person so you can get through the gate. The best view of the old town - great way to get yourself oriented. And just very scenic
