Thus was certainly a tasty & different treat! The moscato gelato was superb, not overpowering but leaving a hint of the sweet wine flavor. Try it when you come. It's truly divine!

Easy to "do" in one day. Lots of palazzi and churches to gape at -- many are decrepit but that is part of this town's charm. Recommend spending two nights to enjoy the local eateries.

Ragusa Ibla is a beautiful baroque city and a world heritage site really worth visiting. There are a number of baroque churches, a pedestrian area for shopping and amazing views of the beautiful surrounding coutryside.

It's a pity that one of the most beautiful baroque area of Sicily is just abandoned to its neglect.Most areas are buried in waste, many private houses are closed and left to decay and some of the attractions are closed to visitors. Furthermore the tourism office is closed on weekends and, despite the opening hours shown on site, probably also during the week. This is not what I mean for protection and promotion of a territory.

Ragusa Ibla is a lovely place to visit. We spent several hours just wandering and we're lucky enough to find the cathedral open. Another large baroque church but this is worth seeing inside because of the large glass Coppola letting light stream into the church. We were on public transport and from the bus station in Ragusa we took the 11 or 33 bus to Ibla. They are small local buses clearly marked Ibla, so easy to find. Times of running, though, remain a mystery. They seem frequent though. One word of warning - if you want to ride back to the bus station, you get the bus exactly where the driver drops you for Ibla. Tourist office told us it stops outside the gardens but it didn't. It may be different in high season.

This place has breathtaking views but the stairs are long. Avoid them if you have an elderly person or a push chair .

Amazing place, but is not actually fitted for elderly people - the best view is from high stairs that is quite a big challenge to climb

A baroque town on a hill, with winding cobblestone "streets", ever narrower alleys, balconies with flowers, great views, beautiful surroundings, friendly people, and a small downtown with several good restaurants.

This city (also set of the famous Commissario Montalbano), is a gem to visit. All in white stones goes up, where you have the chance to see a great view at the top. Really worth visit and have a walk around.

A lot of stairs, a spirit of an ancient city. It is a must if you go to Ragusa! At the end of this part of the city there is a very nice garden (park) that is worth visiting,

Small cute town with a lot of history. Stores close down around lunch time for a few hours. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Lots of great dining options to sit outside and people watch. My family and I stayed in town here in Ragusa Ibla at a small bed and breakfast and thankfully had family from Ragusa to help show us around. Even though we stayed here we did a lot of traveling and visited nearby towns (Marina di Ragusa, Siracusa and Modica). If you want to visit these nearby towns I would recommend a rental car if you do not have someone to drive you around.

We went to see Ragusa Ibla because of Montalbano. A very strange and differentvisit and town. Very run down with no traffic or people except for tourists. We have travelled a lot but never seen anything like it. It´s not picturesque rather ugly.Walk around it and see the views. Don´t miss the difference between Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla.Ibla is quite an experience, almost like a ghosttown.

very picturesque hilltop town. Well worth walking down the little alleyways. Some excellent restaurants to go with the architecture and the views. Beautiful by day and night.

Ragusa, like Noto, was rebuilt following the earthquake of 1693. The hilly location provides many steep lanes leading to unexpected views and structures. The Cathedral is a beautiful structure. The town is very walkable. Good food including an excellent gelato stand.

....if you're listening. Anyway, well worth the visit. Never mind the Montalbano draw, this is a really striking place to visit.
