You know of the Hippocratic oath ? It comes from Hippocrates of kos, and it’s creation the Asklepieion on Kos.This place is full with history, and unlike most other places I visited is not clogged up with pushy salesman trying to sell you t-shirts or miniatures of what you saw. You do need an accredited guide for this though, be sure to choose a good one. Otherwise, the place itself is pretty arid on what concerns guidance on what is what.If you do get a good guide, the tour is brilliant. The place is huge and you can relax in the shade of a tree whilst listening to a tutorial on Pericles, Hippocrates, the Asklepieion, modern medicine and some greek language you understand even today… It is worth your time and if you are in KOS, you must see this.

This is a Place that we always go to, and we always take a ride with bicyckle up there. It's intressting and relaxing to be there, when you coming up there you can sit down and whatch the cats and people, take a frappe in the cafe, and after that go in and watch the ruins of this old hospital.

Large ancient Greek and Roman site in a good state of preservation .Guide leaflet a bit perfunctory and signage could be better, but well worth the effort and not bad value for money

The Asklepieion was where Hippocrates was said to have started the healing arts of what is now modern medicine...It's a perfect location of say the Hippocratic Oath again... I did!!!!!!!!

Asklepieion is a " must " when you vist Kos island.The most famous ancient hospital and there is a lot to learn during your visit and the feeling you get is difficult to describe

Its worth the climb to the top for great views and a great sense of the layout of this famous site. Avoid being there at midday on hot days! Travel there for free on the red land train or take a taxi or bus, but do go!

This ancient hospital is well worth visiting linked in to the island's history and Hippocrates it is better preserved and presented than many sites. for €4 (€2 if you are a pensioner with proof of age). Make sure you go with a guide as it benefits from an explanation

This is an amazing place. Well preserved and with good story boards. Try to imagine what it was like back in time and you will get goose bumps. Climb to the top and there is the wonderful aroma of pine trees - put there to help healing. Wonderful views of Kos town and over to Turkey.€4 entry fee and €2 for OAPs (with identity!). Nice little café in the shade of the trees but a monopoly so expensive. Get there on a number 7 bus for €2,20 return or a taxi for €9 one way.

The sheer sense of history and the stunning views are sensational. For my part I would make my own way by public transport or the local tourist train as organised trips leave you too little time and often link it to less meaningful places.

This is a must visit for anyone. You can climb the steps and take great pictures. (There are a lot of steps though and no handrails) The view from the top is breathtaking.

This is definitely worth a trip, it cost us 12 euros there and back in a cab from Kos Town. It costs 4 euros each to get inside to tour the ruins, which are very interesting to look at. It's worth the 4 euros for the view from the top alone, absolutely gorgeous with a panoramic view of the Tigaki coastline and Bodrum, Turkey. The scale of the place is astounding, it was a very, very big school back then! There's a beautiful walk way from the car park the entrance which is covered by a canopy of trees. There's also a cute little cafe that sold the most amazing orange and strawberry juice! Yummy! The nice man who owned it also called us a cab to take us back into town. We were only there for an hour or so, but it's definitely worth a trip. We loved it :)

a bit of history in the form of broken columns but the view is magnificent. You can see Bodrum, Turkey from there.

Age and seismic activity haven't managed to level this amazing archaeological masterpiece. Well worth a look to see the birthplace of the Hippocratic oath.

Worth a trip to see either by car or land train. Cheap to get in ( 3 or 4 euors, small cafe and "shop" worth taking own drinks as it will get hot
