the view from the top is great and the architecture of the Minaret is worth a look, but the journey up is not so pleasant. you have to wait a lot because they allow only 4 at the time. there is almost 100 really steep high stairs and the space is really tight, you feel cramped up between the walls and the people going up. the price is 1 euro but it's not recommended for people who dont like tight places

yes, especiallyfor the muslim visitor you may feel yourself at home and see the respect of people even our religious to keep and respect our buildings as minaret, mosques etc..

It offers a nice view on the town however you might rather consider visiting the castle where from you can enjoy the same panoramic view.It is a bit boring as well but the ticket is cheap.

97 steps in a very narrow tube. climbing up steps by steps and in the end you "have" to step out to a totally thin outside balcon which is just 3-4 meters around the Minaret cap. Everything is beneath you

We just had to get up there with my family! It was a challenge for sure, as it is a very narrow and never ending spiral staircase, but was worth it. Great view with the feeling of completion.:)

This is well worth the climb to the top if you want a good view of the town. (See pics). Beware, not for those scared of heights. The walkway around the top is only wide enough for you to walk around sideways with your back to wall. (Unless your very skinny or a child). Also, the spiral staircase is extremely narrow too! There was a queue to wait in, but we went across the road to the marzipan museum to kill time. The museum was well worth it too. However, I'll write about this separately. (and hopefully the queue would be shorter afterwards). It was! All in all, it's worth doing as it's not as if you find these dotted about wherever you visit.

It's more of a fun thing to have seen and climbed, than real content.Very narrow and steep stairs, getting even narrower towards the top. 97 steps takes you 26m up, just when real claustrophobia starts to set in, you find yourself on a ledge, only wide enough to turn around while hugging the wall and saying a prayer. For extra safety, there's railing about 80cm high. Out of the ashes into the fire, truly. This was quite uncomfortable, and then you have to navigate the 97 steps down. I had muscle ache for three days after this. Still, fun to have been there and done it.

About 100 steps and fee of 300 HUF to climb. It's just to say you did it because the view is better from the castle.

My heart started racing toward the top of the climb as the minaret narrowed but then I felt the fresh air and stepped out to see a beautiful view of Eger and the surrounding areas. Only 300HUF and lots of smaller kids and families were going up and down as well.

96 steep steps around and around until you reach the top. Great experience don't think I could do it again as not fit enough. Not for the faint hearted. The outside landing is extremely narrow ( you couldn't pass anyone). On the way down we climbed down backward it's the best way.

Old turkish You can go up and downstairs on a narrow spiral staircase, which means NARROW, so if you are overweight or higher than the average please stay down!97 steps, and after it beautiful panorama around, to the castle, city, etc!Max 8 prsns in a round, because the staircase is a one way street.Worth the wait!

ntimus

If you want to visit it consider that it is closed during winter time (from November till April) and you can't climb up the stairs. So we could see it only from outside.

We did not go up the minaret. We were content to sit next to it, watch the street scene, and enjoying musing about the clash of cultures and religions that occurred in Eger five centuries ago. The minaret itself appears to be in good shape, as are many of the surrounding buildings.

Really nice experience - or then Your nightmare! Steps are demanding, don't be too tall or wide or have problems with Your feet or hands. Going up asks power, coming down test Your nerves as every step is possibility to slip. Top is not for those who are afraid of height. Very limited space, but what a great feeling and nice view!250huf is really low price.

If you climb to the top you get good views over the town. Plus for children it is fun to climb the narrow circular stairs. Try and pick a time when fewer people are around, as when it is busy you get a blockage, as there isn't room for people to go both up and down the stairs at the same time. If you don't like climbing minarets, you can get similar views from the castle, which is an easier climb.
