The port is great, as there are plenty of pleasure boats that can take you on various day/ half day trips. We took one that went to 'Red Island' for the day. This was a fantastic trip, as there are some lovely beaches there to swim & sunbathe on. Also a large hotel there, where you can go for a drink & use their facilities. Also restaurant just by the harbour which was excellent.

If you did not know better you might think that you were in a small Italian port. Because of its' location on the Adriatic and the obvious influence of the Venitians, the scene is similar. Wandering around the Port you see both the tourists and the locals intermingle, people visit, children play, tourists snap pictures, the smell of food infuses the air around you and merchants and boat captains hawk their wares. Spend time in the early morning before the crowds to really feel this old town or in the early evening having a drink or Italian ice while the sun sets across the sea.

Old venecian style village on a hill surrounded by the city walls. lovely walk up to the basilica although possibly not for those with a disability. Great views from the top.

A largely undiscovered destination for Americans, the northern Europeans really like this place, and now I know why. My family and I visited here in early spring, rented a Brit expat's apartment near the center of the shopping street, and truly enjoyed the town and local area. The hill with the venetian church spire atop it, once was separated from the mainland by a narrow causeway. Now it's all connected and a cool little fishing village that caters to the tourist trade. With the advent of the Euro into the economy, it's likely more expensive in 2015, but I'd return to the town anyway!

The fisherman sit mending their nets and if the sun is shining (as it was for us) it is a glorious scene with all the old boats.

Had a amazing day spent at the port of rovinj. Nice clear morning with ample sunlight and cool breeze watching the fishing trailers emptying their overnight catch along with tourist getting in and out of small cruise ships, berthed at the port for short stop-over. it was fun walking though the narrow alleys upto the church and soaking in the amazing view from there.

Beyond my expectations! Visited as last port of call on an Adriatic cruise August 2012. The ship berthed in the town. Beware though of the walking surface in the old part of town. I had to return to the ship to change my footwear! Fantastic views for photography!

The setting is absolutely fantastic, right on water, tight and winding streets, filled with restaurants, shops and sights. Stay right in town as it really enhances a visit. Do go on the shoulder seasons. I went in August and it was crowded, but still enjoyed the 3 night stay.

We caught the catamaran to Venice from here, very large car park, reasonably priced.we booked the ferry from the UK look around there was a huge difference in costs

This is a delightful old port area, with stunning views up towards the old town. There are plenty of bars & restaurants dotted around, and the whole area encourages you to stroll through the narrow lanes and soak up the atmosphere. If you walk right round the harbour you come to the bathing areas of some of the mart hotels that back onto the front.Very enjoyable - well recommended!

This port is lovely. I could spend all day sitting by the water's edge watching the working fishing boats come and go with Old Town as the backdrop. One of the busier port towns I visited in Croatia, but one of my most favorite. The vibrate colors of the old buildings lining the port make it unique. Pure eye candy.

Go away. Move along. There's nothing for you to see in Rovinj, Croatia. Not since Godzilla came and stomped on all the lovely old pink and tan stucco buildings and narrow streets filled with wonderful shops. All gone! And then there was the drought. This part of the Adriatic just dried up! All the little fishing boats were taken away and crushed and recycled as Styrofoam beer chests. So go to Paris with all the other tourists, but don't come here. Especially don't come here in April or May, or last week of September - first week of October, when all the tourists are gone. That's when me and Godzilla like to sit at a harborside cafe for coffee in the morning and then late in the afternoon when we can watch the sunset while sipping a glass or two of wonderful wine. So move along. There's nothing for you in Rovinj!

This is a small town but full of character! Take a walk to the top of the hill where the cathedral is located. It is not an easy walk but along the way, you will pass by many little shops, outdoor cafes, and interesting folk. On the way back down, stop for a coffee or ice cream and people watch by the port. The buildings are beautiful and charm is everywhere. You can't get lost even if you explore. What fun!
