I would say this is top of the list to visit when you come to a Rawdon. A sight to see....with walking paths around. The area also has picnic tables so you can bring your lunch and relax for the afternoon. The Falls are something to see...they are mesmerizing, beautiful to see the water cascading over rocks. The swiftly running Falls can be dangerous so no swimming in the area.

We went for a lovely drive through the countryside to Rawdon to see the falls. I had been before several years ago when it was free (how can you charge to view nature?...) but signs indicate that it is only open on weekends. It was Tuesday. We drove into the parking lot anyway and there were lots of schools children with teachers on a tour. There was no problem accessing the lookout and was it exciting to see the falls! They are narrow waterfalls because the river of black water is compressed within the gorge as it rushes with a violent force slamming into boulders and against the rock walls and then to carry on as it courses through the gorge. The sound is deafening and exhilarating. Watching this natural phenomenon is mesmerizing. We went down a path to the right of the lookout to reach the part of the river leading to the falls where there is a large natural clearing of flat rock where the river does a turn so that we had a panoramic view of the river. We must have spent an hour there watching the water coursing past us from upstream. We enjoyed our picnic lunch, surrounded by brilliant red and yellow maples and birches as we watched the river tumble over the rocks around us. My hobby is photography and I got some great shots. It does the soul and body good to get out of the city and commune with nature. Photos of Dorwin Falls: https://www.flickr.com/photos/robinmichetti/sets/72157647841182030/

We went there for a day trip but actually there is a lot to explore. Definitely will go again when I get a chance. The view point of the falls itself is a natural beauty. We took the right decision to BBQ in the Cascades which is near by where you find the beautiful rapid along side the sites for BBQ. The site is first come first serve so you will get a really good spot when you reach there as early as possible. It is also equipped with a BBQ station which will be helpful if you dont have one. We had fun relaxing in the fast stream of water and BBQ. In the later evening we hit the beach where the water is stale and decently clean. This place is perfect for a sunny day and can have in the water.

It's a little park, but it's very beautiful. The falls are nice. Too bad we can see them directly after the enter, no effort, but there is still something to do after. Walk next to the river is very quiet and peaceful. We went there at the beginning of january and it was free to enter. But the restrooms was not open. If you want to spent some time in a beautiful nature aera close to Montreal, it's a good place and there is another things to see around as the "cascades".

Quite small, but oh so beautiful park of the Northern nature. The admission price now includes all three most popular places in Rawdon: the beach on an artificial lake, the Dorwin Falls park and the Cascades park, all within 15 min. drive from each other,I especially recommend the Cascades park - amazing natural wonder!

Kids have loved this place ( les chutes) since they were little, and now that they are teens and young adults, they still enjoy spending the day cruising the rapids in the river, settling in and people watching !Just wish that people would be more considerate of environmental concerns ( eg. garbage ).We live in Toronto but I'm from Montreal and this is my connection to la belle province and the summers of my youth !

The Dorwin Falls are not especially high or wide, but they are a beautiful cascade and have an especially picturesque shape. That being said, the per person admission of $5 seems a bit steep -- it should be something like $7.50 per car.We went with a friend from Montreal who used to take his kids there when it was free. Evidently there had been some injuries or fatalities, as the park has lots of signs posted. In fact, the signs had so many rules and regulations, that were it not for the French language you would have thought you were in Germany!
