I have been here many, many times. We even found the pet cemetary a few years back. What amazes me is the size of the prison in comparison to the population of Aruba. Baby Beach has remained the same. The homes up in the oil refinery look to be abandoned. Some appear to be lived in, but then others look to be ready to torn down. We explore

Very goo to get pictures in the anchor. Seroe Colorado is on the way to baby beach. Stop and get a coconut nearby the anchor and take pictures to wild donkeys during noon

Totally found this place by chance when were were visiting Baby Beach. Super high point on most extreme southeast tip of the island. We went back to watch the sunrise on another morning. Tons of amazing views in all directions of the island. No shade or restroom - nothing to eat or drink - and all volcanic terrain so wear appropriate shoes. But take your camera! Be patient trying to find it - it is not well marked. Basically - take a left at a 'park and ride' bus stop for the locals...follow that around to the right and then you will see a road that goes up and up to the left. Again - be patient and explore. That is the best way to enjoy this island IMHO.

In the years we have gone to Aruba we have stayed in the Saveneta area and literally, on a daily basis, we travel through this area on our way to Baby Beach. If anything I would classify the area as a transition from the residential and tourist areas to the very rough other coast of the island. Lots to see in this interesting area including a desert like environment, cacti, wild donkeys, the closed down refinery and a small residential area. If you have a car it is worth a visit.

This is a community on the southern most part of the island adjacent to the oil refinery. The drive to this part of the island gives you a sense of what how Aruba’s people live. Baby beach is located near by. On each side of baby beach is a restaurant. Either pf these would make a place to stop and have a lunch or a beer. The best part of this area is the view from the site of the old light house. The light house is gone replaced by a beacon. From this point you can see views of both the south coast and much of the island. The best way to find it is to go to the center of this small community and just head south and weave your way through the streets until you find the road leading out to the light house. It will the only road that takes you south out of the community. My suggestion would to come here and then work you way up visiting other attractions to make a half day or full day trip. The roads are good so you do not need a four wheel drive.

At this place, the rugged coast of Aruba can be seen well, with steep cliffs, huge waves and a beautiful rock arch. The cliffs are too steep to descend from above, but it offers a nice view. It is a short walk from the car park, beware of the cacti.

Seroe Colorado LighthouseSan Nicolas, ArubaThere are other gorgeous very small natural bridges in the Seroe Colorado Lighthouse area toward the Baby Beach. Seroe Colorado is the home of Baby Beach, Rodgers Beach and Colorado point at the southeast of the island. The Valero Oil Refinery Company in located down toward this area. The volcanic rock cliffs are beautiful. The island prison is located in this area; you can see it from the Lighthouse. Last year (2012) I believe the lighthouse was painted red but this year (2013) I see it is painted black. You will come across donkeys and goats in this area. Be careful with the donkeys, they will come up to the vehicles because we saw people feeding them carrots.

Baby Beach, Roger's Beach and the Colorado Light house are all near by in Seroe Colorado. The area its self is the natural desert environment common in Aruba with it's natural beauty. Anywhere you can see the coast is beautiful from the sands on the western coast to the rocky coast on the southern end. Great views.

My wife and I trekked here and was in awe of the sights. Rugged yet gentle. It brought back memories that I didn't know existed from a young brain. We walked along the sand and breathed the beautiful fresh breeze into our hungry lungs. It is just magical.

If you're in the area, perhaps visiting Baby Beach, you can get to the edge of Aruba and get an interesting view of the ocean, rock terraces and a harsh terrain all around you. Don't bother making a special trip to see it. We saw a number of wild donkeys near the big Red Arrow, just down the road.

This is our favorite place on the island. Wear sun protection and good shoes so you can hike to the edge. It's worth it!

Went twice this week to see, never could locate- some signage initially, but once you get near Baby Beach there's no more signage and couldn't locate....

If you like natural beauty, don't miss Seroe Colorado. It's a great place to see what Aruba looked liked many years ago, probably just like when it was first discovered. Other than a few roads, the landscape is natural and untouched. The anchor tribute is so appropriate and very significant. While you're at it, don't forget to enjoy an afternoon at Baby Beach. You won't be sorry!!!!

12 June 2012. This lighthouse is located on the South end of the Island, and although not the site we expected to see but the scenery was breath taking. The lighthouse is located on volcanic rock and the cliffs are beautiful. Nature is so great it transported me into a peaceful place. You can see the prison and Valero oil refinery from this hill top. The lighthouse is located in the San Nicolas area by Baby Beach and Rodgers Beach. We almost got lost but found a gentleman and his son and they pointed it out and told us how to get over to it. I must say we said to the guy that is it but we went over anyhow. It was the best thing we did. I don't think my pictures could have captured that view but atleast they give you an idea. Needless to say on the way back we stopped to see the gentleman and his son and gave them some dollars just because they led us to that beautiful spot. We pasted a man with donkeys and a coconut stand on the way to the lighthouse. I don't know maybe the could have painted it copper and atleast put a sign explaining a little more about it. But the site will transport you. My teens loved it too.
