My sister and I visited the Plaza and we like how big the place was. It was amazing to see the museum and the church next to each other. The beautiful flag of Nicaragua on the other side of the plaza gives you a feel that you are truly in the beautiful country of Nicaragua

In the Plaza flanked the city landmarks, the cathderal ruins, the Palacio Nacional, National Museum and the park containing Carlos Fonseca's tomb marked by an eternal flame. The huge black and red flags represents Sandinista paying homage to the revolution!

Neither the place nor the adjacent buildings are worth a visit to Managua - except you are interested in urban planning. This Plaza and the adjacent open spaces are symptomatic how not to create urbanity. The attempt to make a heroic gesture ends up by leaving vast dull spaces without any attraction. that is the reason why you hardly see people there. I could not find a single restaurant or café in the whole area. A waterfront, what a chance for a city to have an attractive area! Instead, the Malecon, the promenade at the lake ist crammed with ugly playgrounds made of plastic elements. It costs an entrance fee and is closed between 12am and 2pm. So where are the public spaces where people meet? They meet in the shopping malls! The capital of Nicaragua, delivered to consumers temples!A failed city concept! And they could have known better, Leon and Granada could have taught them.

Very quite place, relaxing location to evaluate events in life, history was made here. seems to be a calm and safe place.

Stark square bounded by city landmarks including the Cathedral and the National Palace of Culture. Also the tomb of the FSLN founder.

This plaza is really ugly and there is nothing interesting to see. The cathedral is to one side and then the national museum and the casa del pueblo face each other. None of these are remarkable.

A pretty area for walking and relaxing. At Christmas, they were decorating the trees. A historic spot.

Whatever your needs you will find it here and the prices range from the less expensive to a little higher end

There are several sites to check out in the plaza area, but some of the buildings are closed to the public, so it's a quick stop. We stopped here and walked along the main street to check out the "trees of life" that line the street. It's a central location, so it's conveniently located near many touristy spots.

Was very nice with much to do and see, at the time there was a festival of some type that filled the streets with people. Nice atmosphere and one of the buildings was VERY old and interesting to look at.

This is an interesting place to visit and take photos. It's located at the old Cathedral and the Museum in downtown Managua. The cathedral is old and the architecture is amazing, and it's interesting to see the earthquake damage. Be careful: there have been reported thefts targeted at tourists in the plaza.
