This treasure has a scenic picnic area with lovely picnic lunches and cheese platters on offer. There are enough play areas for children of all ages, even a cooling pond for toddlers to cajole in.Lastly the wines produced on this farm are excellent. Will definitly recommend any time.Wonderful experience!!!!!!

I was greatly impressed by the beautiful landscape surrounding the wine estate. We had a nice lunch picnic and got useful insights into the wine produced there by a lively, chatty tasting guide, who told us about the history of the winery and explained the smells and tastes of each wine. I especially liked the 'Three Cape Ladies' pinotage blend

Take a tip from me. Book your picnic basket and go and relax here. Take the whole day. Dont waste your time other wine farms. Wine were great and Hendrika our somelier were awesome. We did not book for a picnic but the accommodated us anyway Picnic basket is filled with gourmet goodies and me and the wife just loved it here.Like the sign say. Wine eat sleep... 11/10

We stumbled upon this wine farm between stellenbosch and butterfly world and thought a picnic on a wine farm sounded romantic. When we arrived we received a very warm welcome and our host went carefully through the menu with us to discuss what I could have as I am pregnant. They have tailored almost every dish to be acceptable to the strictest pregnancy diet. We then spent a glorious afternoon resting on a comfortable mattress under a huge umbrella on a sun soaked lawn. If you want a taste of luxury go to this wine farm. The food was delicious especially the biltong pate! Wish we could go back everyday!! Cannot rate them highly enough!!

An excellent and inexpensive attraction in South Africa's Winelands can be found at Warwick Estate. Tasting guides assist you in sampling about 5 wines. Our guide, Yolanda, was brilliant. What a pleasant, smiley girl to put us in the mood!We returned the next day for the Gourmet Picnic. Yolanda remembered us and had set out a table and cushions on the lawn. Following a great picnic & a superb bottle of wine, we made good use of those cushions to relax and admire the lake & grounds. Yolanda sorted a coffee later. The tasting is free if you purchase just a couple of bottles of their superb wine. What a bargain!Happy memories - those bottles came back to England in our suitcases.

We were recommended to visit Warwick by a sommelier in Cape Town as as family orientated smaller winery. Our visit this morning fulfilled those expectations.First impressions- small and more personal than some of the big estates (we had a bad experience at Boshendal yesterday which is just a huge money making machine)First of all we were warmly welcomed by a manager who took time to explain the facilities, wine tasting, picnics and their wine safari.Visiting with our young daughter we opted for a tasting, coffees and drinks whilst our daughter took advantage of the facilities for youngsters. She had a ball, got totally soaked in the water features, played pétanque with the other children. There is even an old UK George VI postbox & red phone box in the grounds-quirky talking point.Visitors took their picnics on the lawn by the lake set out beautifully under huge umbrellas with beanbags. The set up looked impressive with quality looking glass wear and silver wear. People looked very relaxed enjoying the offerings. Our tasting comprised of 6/7 wines. Our host was informative and very well versed in her profession (I studied viticulture in the early 80s, didn't confess, not a wine snob & I'm open minded) as well as being exceptionally polite. Sadly the unoaked Chardonnay 'first lady' is no longer available (proving it's not just us who now love the simplicity of unwooded whites) so this was supplemented by their Pink Lady rose. Usually never a rose drinker but what a treat. Crisp, dry, clean with an excellent nose. The skins are replaced for just two hours giving it it's tinge of pink, even I was most impressed. We spent a couple of hours escaping the unbearably hot sun in the shade of an the old oak tree (which showered us with acorns at every breeze) We had a lovely time and can certainly recommend as a very relaxed experience. Tasting R25 per person

We were a group of friends and we had a great day at Warwick. The picnic baskets were well prepared, different types of food, wine tasting was good...but the amazing thing was the location! Table with umbrella on the lawn, facing the lake, and many cushions on the ground to chill around and relax. Great experience!

We phoned in and booked our picnic as well as one of the pods. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and escorted to a pod called "the Pink Lady" which was a covered table and picnic area- private and secluded. The picnic was awesome with an assortment of salads, cheeses and baguettes. The summer salad and dressing were heavenly. I also enjoyed the potato and sundried tomato salad. The cheeses were accompanied by a ginger jam which really complimented the cheese. The killer though was the cheesecake that can only be described as heaven in a bottle. An amazing picnic experience.

The picnics may rate highly but if you were thinking of going to Warwick for just a wine tasting I'd recommend you give it a miss! There are so many superior wineries to visit with a more intimate and personal tastings on offer than here. The wines are acceptable enough but nothing special. The host we had was poor and read the tasting notes from the back of the bottles. We'll not be going back to Warwick.

What a stunning venue for a special picnic. The venue also encourages children to have fun allowing parents to relax and enjoy themselves. The food was of a high quality and delicious. A real treat.
