Bring your blanket and basket. But there are lots of venders to choose from. The event is continuous lot's to see. Plenty of bench space. Get there when the gates open. Plenty of directed parking.

We've attended these games for years, and have never found any others that even come close in size, quality, number of vendors, entertainers and events. The mid day mass pipe bands are the biggest I've ever seen. The Gathering has grown in popularity over the years, and we will continue to attend the third Saturday of every May.

This is a very nice family event with lots of activities, vendors and food. You can also bring your well behaved dog tot he event. Includes Scottish music, bagpipes and drums, dog herding sheep, Scottish dancing. Artistic craftsmen exhibit and also display their skills.

We've been going to these annual games in Fair Hill, MD for many years. It's not like a Renaissance Fair or a carnival. You can sit in the stands and watch the hammer throw, sheaf toss, etc. Many of the competitors return year after year, so it's fun to cheer on your favorite. You can walk around and watch the pipers play in front of judges, listen to live entertainment, or watch sheep get herded by dogs. It's pretty much the same vendors and events every year, so some of my family are bored with it and don't go back anymore. Even though there are beer trucks, it's a calm atmosphere, family oriented. Some kids may find it boring as there isn't a lot for them to do.

for a Scottish experience. Very traditional treatment of Scottish Games you would find in Scotland.Piping groups were excellent and Scottish country dancing was very good.

The Scottish Games event in beautiful Fair Hill, MD is so much fun. The games themselves are incredible - big strong men tossing telephone poles and boulders ( that's not the technical Scottish terms). The event also has good food, great music, and many other interesting demonstrations. I especially like watching border collies work sheep. If you're of Scottish descent, you'll love it. Even if you're not, it's great fun for someone who likes this type of thing.

I absolutely love attending the Scottish games! The ticket price seems a little steep but the activities, dances, & exhibits offered make it such a great value! My 20 to 30-something friends and I have been together several years in a row. We like to watch the feats of strength and the marching bands. The food vendors are fabulous, too - if you're a meat lover! Great way to spend a day!

It was a great 1 day festival & games. There was good food, dancing, bagpipes, shopping, and lots of kilts. R.E. Piland, Goldsmiths were there and they had some great new things.
