This was our first visit to River Run. The course was great! Great conditions and lay out. The pro shop and course staff was great. Guys at the pro shop/marshals were super friendly. Devon and Larry were great and very helpful. Krystle the cart girl was as sweet as can be and all of the course taking good care of us. Inside at the restaurant was a different story, the staff was horrible and not very personal. The girls seems flustered easily and messed up on our drink orders and dinner. They seemed annoyed that we were even there, if you don't like your job it's time to get a new one. Don't expect to make any money when you seem annoyed that someone actually comes in for food and drinks. Other that our experience at the restaurant, we would say River Run is great place to go! We will defiantly come back!

Course was in very good shape and very fair for both men and women. Gary Player did a very nice job designing the holes and the staff was friendly.

What an awful golf course. Does Gary Player even know his name is attached to this place? I've played about 10 courses in the Ocean City/Delaware area and this is the worst one. And then at a rate of $124 it's a complete ripoff. We asked about the driving range and were told go on over, there are free balls to hit....yep, there were about 15 balls to share between the 3 of us!On the course, there is no hole by hole map on the scorecard; no hole maps at each tee box, and no GPS. So you are on your own to guess where each hole plays. Most of the fairways have no 'first cut' and most of the greens don't either. This place is about on par with the $25 muni course down the street.Oh yeah...a hot dog is $5.50 and a tuna sandwich is $10. The beer cart came around once in 18 holes.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. YOU WILL BE SORRY. YOU READ IT HERE

The course was fun to play. The only downside was that on the day we played it was cart paths only and one of our group has health issues that prevent him from walking the course. We assumed they would give him a handicap flag but they do not use them. Check before you go if you have that issue.

Need to let the people running the golf end manage the front of the house. People on course ; Starters, cute cart girl, friendly ranger, etc. were terrific! Course was solid narrow in places not overly long good shape in general. The only downside was the wait/bar staff. If you dont like people from out of town you might want to get another job. We were there on 2 occasions with different staff but the same attitude. Complaining about being over worked with about 4 tables full and expecting you to be thrilled when they finally got your drink order right. Those ladies need to be working somewhere with limited customer interaction or a restaurant with lower expectations...like fast food. Overall good place with nice golf experience but eat elsewhere unless you are grabbing a hot-dog to go.

Just came back from our fall Ocean City, MD golf trip. This time we played three of the "Freeman" courses on a package deal. The middle one was River Run in Berlin. Parking lot layout was a little unusual, with the main entrance area devoted to residential real estate sales, but the pro shop and club headquarters is just another iron shot down the road, maybe 150 feet. Check in was quick, easy and professional. There is a small bar and restaurant to the left of the pro-shop. We arrived a little early, and they were quite accommodating in moving up our time. Staff was friendly. Service was excellent. The course itself has some interesting holes and features. Some nice scenery enhanced the day. Greens were well kept, but I had difficulty with the reads. Fairways are relatively narrow, and require well placed shots. Ocean City had just had a lot of rain, and some wind in the week before our arrival. Drainage and muddy conditions were a problem. Also, lots of leaves and rough made in hard to find your ball if even a bit off fairway. Pace of play became an issue because of lost balls. Also, paths were not marked off clearly. We lost our direction once, as did the other cart with us.The previous day we had played a different course which had an excellent drainage system. the difference was very obvious even though it was a day later and had another day to dry out. I would suggest that you check the weather, and if you are not committed to a previous course, this would be a good course to play if it had ample time to dry out. Try to price it competitively. If you get the course in the right conditions, I think you would be satisfied overall, for the right price.

Course had a nice layout, but they had a lot of rain in days leading up to our round and the fairways were very mushy. Even though it hadn't rained in a couple of days, still very wet. Staff very nice.

I went on golfnow.com and played for $35 -- which is dirt cheap for the shore. So for what I paid, I was more than fine with it. However, if I would have paid the regular price of $75 -- I may have been a little disappointed. This course is rough in spots but by no means unplayable. The greens were slow and some of the tee boxes were bare in spots. All that said, i'd go back because I know the facility is trying to bring it back to high standards, Maintenance crews were out and about. The staff is superb!!! Give it chance or go pay $140+ at the other Ocean City golf courses. If the sun is shining and your with friends -- who really cares as long as the course isn't a dog track -- and surely this is not. I went as a single and got paired up with 3 delightful guys. We laughed and carried on like we'd known each other for years.

they had the sprayer sprinkler system on while we were on the fairways and the sprinklers were watering the woods. Would not allow golfers on the course without short sleeved collared shirts way to pricey for 18 holes $60.00. we were monitored constantly on the course. course is choppy and unkempt.

Supposedly lost greens and fairways to recent excessive rain.....but the course was swamped due to watering. Greens were so slow it was practically comical. We won't be going back. We hadn't been there in 15 years when they forced us to play despite conditions that should have closed the course.People were good and the 19th hole for watching the end of the British Open was fine. Otherwise a waste of vacation time and money.

The River Run Golf Club & Community is a beautiful piece of property only 20 minutes from Ocean City, MD. Take 90 or 50 to 589 North and go to Beauchamp Road (traffic light) and make a right and it's just down the road a ways on the left. Eighteen holes of Gary Player designed golf with 5 tees on each hole: Black; Blue; Gold; White and Lady's Red. It's a challenging course, but not so hard as to be discouraging to the average golfer! It's a beautiful setting, right on the bay. Home sites are available and the property also has a restaurant in the clubhouse, a swim club and a marina. I almost forgot, you can get there by boat if you wish!I play golf there and my wife and I even eat breakfast there when all the Ocean City places for breakfast have long lines. The facilities are lovely and clean, the golf course is very well maintained, and the staff is as nice as can be...not one of your snooty country clubs. Golfing is open to the public with reservations. I make mine through OCGolfing at 866-ocgolfing or http://www.ocgolfing.com (whose staff is also extremely nice). Rest rooms and refreshments (including a roving cart) are available throughout the golf course. The River Run Golf Club is just a really nice golfing experience only a few minutes from Ocean City. You'll like it.

Played this course for the 1st time on 11/10/12. Very pleased with the shape of the course. Good layout and the greens were rolling very smooth. I will be coming back again. The course does lack signs at tees that show the hole layout but you pretty much get what you see. There are markers on lay-up holes that tell you the distance to the marshes.

FloodPro

Course was in OK shape. The spacing of the tees were too close, but overall well worth the costs especially the replay rate.

Not an outstanding or particularly interesting golf course, but then again, the prices are reasonable.
