原本以为今天最大的目的地:Sitka National Historical Park并不会远,没想到走到两旁都没屋没房了还要继续向前一公里多,几乎走到了雪山脚下了除了图腾,这里其实也没啥大花头,博物馆内堂又没开放

This place is truly a special experience. It is an easy forest walk the skirts the ocean. So you get ocean and forest all at the same time. And the totem poles dispersed amongst the trees was truly magical. The contrast of nature's art and man's blended so well as to give the place almost a sacred feel. The air was so fresh. Walking the forest while listening to the waves lap against the shore, and the unique bird calls.........I will just never forget it.Truly, truly...............go, soak it in. Take your time. Feel the wonder of this place.

Totem Park is a fun and interesting park that combines the beauty of nature, history, and Native American culture. The park contains approximately three miles of trails through a patch of woods that hugs the channel. Totems, most of which are relatively recent replicas of originals created during the past century, are placed at various points along the trail. The site is also rich in history as it commemorates a minor battle between the Native Tlingits and Russian fur traders. Totem Park is one of several "must see" sites while in Sitka.

I hiked the park and was glad I did, later went back with wife and we had a great time. A very nice experience and learning experience for anyone but particular someone not from this area. It gave us a great learning experience in the local native culture.

Take the time to hike through the Sitka Historic Totem Park. It is a relaxing hike, and you get to see many wonderful totem poles, explanations of their history, and beautiful scenery. This is an important part of Alaskan history and should not be missed.

We were fortunate to do this walk on a beautiful sunny day with no rain or wind. There are plenty of totem poles scattered throughout, though not as many as I was (blindly) expecting. The forest itself is enough to make it a beautiful experience, and part of it also goes along the shore. Easy walk, we even saw plenty of strollers on the trail.

There were nice views along the trail through the park. Getting to the park was a nice short walk through town.

It was total lagniappe getting to visit this park. Whether to visit the interpretive center first or take the outdoor walk among the totem poles - that is the question. We did the walk first, which let us enjoy the majesty of these gorgeous carvings and appreciate their presence at face value. There is something about the quiet walk in the woods and then a path opening to a shimmering sea that is magical. Paths and facilties are beautifully maintained. See a bit of trash? Pick it up and deposit it in of several on-site receptables. Do your part as a temporary Park volunteer. Interpretive center is good and small enough to enjoy within an hour. Staff is friendly and very happy to show short interpretive videos upon request. High-quality souvenir items available for purchase. Easy parking.

It is a lovely walk among the tall trees to see the totem poles. Inside the visitor centre are some beautiful exhibits with explanations so you know what you're looking at. Well worth a visit.

Loved walking through the trails looking at the totem poles. The ranger led tour was exceptional and informative. I did not realize all of this history here until I did the ranger tour. Take your time walking through the totem poles because it's definitely worth it.

We went here on advice of our tour guide for our wildlife tour and found the park to be a very nice and well kept park. The totems are just wonderful to look and and it was a nice trail to walk

This park was fantastic! I would definitely recommend spending some time with a tour guide so you can learn the histories and meanings behind the totems. We did a bit of hiking, but wish we would have had much more time to spend here.

This was one of the activities that was on my must do list in Sitka. We enjoyed seeing the Salmon swimming upstream in what looked like rows. The rainforest was lovely, and there were so many different totem poles that were interesting to look at, especially in the forest setting. We also enjoyed seeing the sea gulls feasting on the Salmon. This park is definitely worth taking the time to go see when in Sitka.
