This great old house located on Creek Street is like a step back in time, to back when the street was the Red Light District of Ketchikan. It was interesting learning of the prevalence of prostitution in Alaska, and of Dolly's entrepreneurial spirit. The house has been so well kept, with all of the original wallpapers and accessories, and all of Dolly's little modifications and decor (like a hidden bar with a trapdoor to the creek below for bootleggers to drop off alcohol...or her 'flowers' decorating the shower curtain made of colourful silk condoms).Really unique and interesting. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because it was a very short visit, and seemed a bit expensive for the amount of time it actually takes to see the house.

My husband love stating after a visit to Dolly's that I took him to a brothel. This was a cool museum and our tour guides were wonderful. I asked tons of questions and they had answers. There were a lot of laughs with the "men's bathroom" and it was cool to see all the old fixtures. They had a video which told of Dolly's life. We learned a lot of interesting facts that I wouldn't share with children. (There were no children in the house during our tour and therefore our talks became a little risque.) It was reasonably price as you could stay and explore as long as you liked.

Then you'll enjoy Dolly's. It's a former brothel and Dolly was a very colorful lady. Stop here awhile the staff were neat The stories about the history of the brothel are interesting. Small place and a short visit but hey something size doesn't matter and a quickie can do you good.

When I say color, I mean of the 'red light district' kind. Dolly's house is a former working brothel in the old style. Great local history about a wonderful, albeit fallen as they say, woman. Located right on Creek Street (the red light district) near shopping including the gallery of a internationally known Tlingit carver.

We stopped here while walking through town. The staff were nice and sweet. The stories about the madam were interesting. If you decide to walk through town, it is worth stopping in and reading/hearing about the past.

It amazes me how small the accommodations were. I lived in Ketchikan for a summer. We saw most of the touristy stuff. This place was an interesting little bit of history.

Dollys House the first brothel in Ketchikan. What a fascinating place. Everything is as it was left when she left it to the city as a museum. Definitely worth a visit. We booked. Saxman Village tour which included the Totem Poles, wildlife viewing as well as entry to Dollys when we got off the ship in Ketchikan. We were glad we hadn't spent $160 which was the cost of the ships tour. We paid $50 each on the dock for a two hour tour with a very knowledgeable guide Ray. Be prepared for rain and wind I this town and you'll have a good time.

My husband and I enjoyed visiting Dolly's House while strolling around Creek Street. Because it was near the end of the season it only cost $15 for both of us. It's a very small house and doesn't take long to visit but it's fun to go back in time. The condoms decorating the shower curtain in the bathroom are a must-see!

It cost 10 dollars to get in and I would say it's a waste of money, but then this comes part of our tour so we did it anyways. Dolly's house is in the red light district and at that time when she bought it, it only took her two weeks to pay the house in full. She must have been very busy and very famous prostitute then. It's a small house and you can finish the tour in 10 min or less.

Was great to visit Dollys house. Apparently everything is the same bar the wallpaper which had to be changed. You get to listen to a recording in every room giving information about her. Would recommend

Very interesting to see how things use to be. Most of the house is in it's orginal state. ie, fixtures, dishes etc. It was included in our tour.

If you have extra time, check out Dolly's house. It's silly, cheap fun to fill up the day. Don't go with crazy high hopes, just go for the fun and sights...and enjoy! Be sure to read the outside captions too! "Dolly's House where both men and salmon go up stream to spawn!"

Didn't go in, sure was cute ! The " Ladies of the night" standing outside were appropriately resisted and had " attitude" to entice you to take the Tour. Looked Fun...we'd run out of time.

We visited here while on a cruise. We loved Ketchikan and Creek Street. Dolly's House is near the end of Creek Street. It is a bit expensive for what you get but seems to be authentic. It is a museum dedicated to Ketchikan's famous madam, Dolly. The house is well maintained. It contains a kitchen, dining room, Dolly's room and a bathroom. Dolly's original belongings in each room were in good condition. We loved the fact that the house had escape stairs for married men.

Very quick self guided tour. We got the tickets for free with another tour or we would have never considered going into an old time brothel. There was a quick intro by a lady at the entrance who asked us to pay as soon as we walked in, she came across as rude to me as she kept stopping her intro to ask people to pay to come in. Then she hurried us along on our self guided tour telling us she worked for tips (not sure what real benefit she provided that would have justified the tip). After we walked through the few rooms there were another 2 drop boxes to leave tips, again not sure what would have justified the tip, those came across as tacky. Overall the review wouldn't have been a good one, as this was pretty boring, but the 3 not so subtle requests for tips took it over the top for me.
