The Point is about a mile north of downtown Ketchikan. You have to call them and the owner, Terry, will come pick you up in their shuttle van. Seems a bit inconvenient but totally worth the effort! Great shop with beautiful artwork and stained glass hangings done by Terry, a nice little yarn shop, and a yummy cafe with the best red velvet cupcakes ever! It's a great setting on the water and away from all the overpriced commercialism that has overtaken many of the Inside Passage towns. Also the only local yarn shop that I know of. Make the trip!

Check this place out if you are interested to photo shoot the bald eagles. This cafe is not only a charming village cafe where you meet the friendly locals having coffee but you can also get a lovely clear view of the bald eagles teaching their young to dive in the sea for food. When we were there a flock of 12 bald eagles were busy diving...wow it was really a bonus for eagle photographers like us. The locals are so friendly. It was raining when we decided to get back to our cruise ship and the owner despite that she was busy , dropped everything and gave us a lift back to the pier for free. They offered free shuttle to and from the pier. So if you are interested to check out this place gave them a call or just take a 15-20 minutes walk

I love the food at the Point. One benifit to having a small menu is that the food is always fresh and delicious. The only issue I have had was finding a seat during the lunch rush.

A charming little shop away from the touristy areas but easy to get to from the port. A combination of cafe, art gallery, bead and yarn shop, and scenic photo spot. I had a wonderfully prepared latte, stepped out back to take in the scenery and watch float planes land, browsed the art pieces throughout the shop, and bought some unique beads to take home. From our cruise ship we walked up Front St, through the tunnel, and took a short bus ride the rest of the way to The Point.

A lovely sandwich and coffee shop with a great view. Fresh soups, sandwiches and desserts. Live music on Wed and Fri from 11-1. Lots of beautiful art by local artists and an excellent yarn and bead shop too.

I went to Terry and Cheri Pyles Gallery at The Point in search of a specific item, and was so impressed with the selection of beautiful pieces available for purchase. While inside, I discovered this was an art cafe. Everything looked and smelled so good, I asked my husband to meet me for lunch. We looked out over the water and watched the ships, boats, and seaplanes while we dined on their version of scrumptious tuna salad on delicious home made bread, and a selection of home made cookies. Cheri chatted with us and we got to meet Terry. We found them to be friendly and interesting. A pleasant experience should be duplicated, so we returned for lunch the next day - this time before the bacon quiche sold out. (YUM)Lunch at The Point , for us, was a unique opportunity to eat among artistic creations inside while viewing the Inside Passage outside.
