My first multiday backcountry experience could not be better. Away from hustle and bustle of resorts (skied Jackson Hole resort for few days before this trip), in tranquility of eternally beautiful Teton backcountry, taken care of excellently by our guides Jeff and Nick, I had great time, skinning up, skiing down and just simply relaxing after long day out back in Baldy Knoll yurt. Even in this low snow year out West, our guides found us excellent north facing aspects snow and tree skiing. If you are hesitant about going - just do it, this is adventure that stands apart from your usual ski vacation by far. Fairly good level of fitness, and, more importantly, good attitude is required;) Thanks to TBG guys for great experience, patience, opportunity to learn new skills, and fun times!

If you need cable and internet, this is not for you.If you want night life and crowds, this is not for you.If you are lazy and need a lift to the top of crowded runs, this is not for you.If you thrive in the serenity of the wilderness, relish the challenge of traveling in the mountains; get pumped when making first tracks through incredible terrain, and dream of endless powder then this yurt is your kind of place. After more than 2 weeks since the last snow Jeff and his guides found us untracked pow for days. They have tones of experience in these mountains and know how to get the terrain you want. They are very professional and make sure every guest has everything to make the trip safe. But expect to be challenged, that is what backcountry is all about. The service in the yurt was just as amazing as the mountains. We woke up to fresh coffee and breakfast for a king, lunches were packed and dinner was quality you expect in a high end lodge but prepared on a camp stove in a mountain yurt. Living with your guide in a small space means they take care of everything all we had to do was relax and dream of more fresh turns the next day.I recommend this to anyone who wants the challenge of the backcountry and you can choose you level of service from bare yurt to full guide service. Thanks TBG!

Kudos to Teton Backcountry Guides. I escaped to Jackson Hole for a couple days, looking forward to getting off the beaten path. I contacted Diane to schedule a guide to take me touring for the day. I had a fantastic time. Matt, my guide, was very safety oriented and took me through some fun terrain. Diane was also very helpful in pointing out different options to coordinate my travels, i.e. rental gear, logistics. I will definitely contact them again next time I visit the area, hoping to get some more challenging terrain.

I had 2 days with Teton Backountry Guides’ Jeff Jung in January 2015 - cannot recommend him and the Company more highly.First of all they were very thorough in assessing my ability to make sure they would take me on routes that were challenging but that I would also enjoy.Safety is clearly paramount for Jeff and I had great confidence in him. I learnt a great deal about technique and safety during the 2 days.Apart from his depth and many years of experience Jeff has a wealth of knowledge on the geography, geology and history of the area which it was so interesting to learn from him. Most of all Jeff is great fun and morale was kept high at all times - it was just a pleasure to spend time with him in the place that he clearly has such a passion for.Would I come back? In a heartbeat!

My boyfriend and I skied our first backcountry powder turns with Diane, and we had an incredible day. Diane was incredibly knowledgable, upbeat, and she tailored the trip to our exact level, helping us feel comfortable with all of the new gear we were using but also pushing us to try some challenging terrain once she saw we were up to the challenge. I would highly recommend a ski trip with Teton Backcountry Guides!

If you are looking for something different and a little more adventurous while you are in the area, a guided day hike with this company is the perfect way to spend a day. Even though the day we went was a holiday (July 4th), the trail Diane selected had very few hikers so we basically had the trail to ourselves. On the way to the mountaintop at 10,240 feet, we stopped numerous times to view wildflowers and even managed to see a woodpecker feeding a baby near the trail. The mountaintop destination was simply spectacular with views of Montana, Idaho, and the Teton range. This is my second hike with Diane and I will definitely do this again the next time I am in the area. Diane is great at answering questions and concerns and will take you on a hike that will match your interests and physical abilities.

My 2 friends and I went backcountry skiing / skinning for the first time off the Teton pass with Teton Backcountry Guides (formally Rendezvous Backcontry Tours). We were a bit apprehensive but Diane advised us on what to expect, the equipment necessary and level of experience needed. The night before it snowed about 8 inches and continued to snow hard all day, but without high winds. The powder was unbelievable and untracked. Our guide Tony took us to terrain that suited our skill levels and was safe. He was a great guide and we certainly appreciated him breaking trail for the skinning back up the mountain. We also got a primer into avalanche preparedness and response. I would call the trip touring the backcountry. Skinning up and around the trees with spectacular vistas was tranquil and beautiful. The skiing down was a scream. Great powder turns got us all hooked. This was a fantastic experience that we will always remember fondly and will do again.

My wife and I have visited the Teton Valley several times and have always taken a self guided dayhike on one of the many scenic trails in the area. Living in a large city with 9 to 5 desk jobs we don't exactly push ourselves on these hikes into the wilderness. On our recent trip to the area we decided to take a guided hike offered by Rendevous Backcountry Tours. During the planning phase of the hike, our guide quizzed us on our physical condition and what we wanted to see on our hike. Based upon our answers, she recommended a hike that began on a trailhead at 7100 feet in elevation and took us all the way up to a ridge at 9600 feet in elevation. We had an amazing time! The view was spectacular. And, we never would have discovered this view on our own. We didn't know the trail and view existed and we wouldn't have pushed as far into the wilderness without our expert guide leading us.If you're looking for a grand adventure into the Teton backcountry, contact Rendevous Backcountry Tours.
