This funky store (is actually quite large) was for sale when we were there for just $1Million. If I had that kind of money, I would have bought it! They have great gifts on the first floor and a small grocery store. Upstairs they have antiques. Pretty cool.
This is a great motorcycle drive from Spearfish, and a great spot to stop and stretch your legs. It's an old building over 100 years old, where you can buy antiques or small gifts. Extremely friendly women running the store, and antiques are a good prices. My husband and I go there every fall when we visit the black hills and I always come back to Indiana with some treasured item from the store.
such a neat little place. just heard its for sale now, my daughter wants to buy it up :) 2 stories in this old store offer clothing, antiques, knick knacks, a few groceries and the like. fun little store to stop at on vacation!
A throw back to yesteryear! Quaint and nostalgic! Loved that they had most everything we needed including gas station!
Aladdin is a 30-acre hamlet in eastern Crook County, Wyoming. It lies at the junction of WYO 24 and WYO 111 northeast of the town of Sundance, Wyoming. The population is 15. When traveling in this region you must stop at the general store. This store has been there for many years carrying general goods and clothing, a bar and the upstairs loaded with antiques. Buy a drink at the bar and carry it as you shop. My wife and I spent nearly 2 hours shopping and looking at all the cool stuff. And here is the kicker. You can buy the entire town, store included, for $1,500.000.
My wife & I just concluded a 4 State road trip that included a stop at this store. First off, if you don't like "old stuff, American Pickers, or Americana" then bypass this 2 stop town. The first thing that we read as we entered the store was a "For Sale" sign (hand written of course) offering the store, its contents and 30 acres for $1.5 million. If you want something more interesting, I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. This place is old, something like 120 years old and the floors squeak, the furnishings are old and the stairs creek even more. Oh yes, this is a 2 story mega mall for Aladdin, WY.There is a smattering of all types of items from new clothing, antiques, candy bars, some canned goods, etc.. After touring the 2 floors, we did not buy anything, but I could see the potential. So I met the owner is over 39 and offered her a flat $1M for the place. She laughed and turned me down, insisting on $1.5M. This store supports a town of 15. Enjoy and visit or just blow by at 75!!
If I could have figured out a way to get that antique snow sled for $25 back to Georgia, I wudda. Oh, well. Someone else can get that treasure. A fun little stop off the beaten trail.
Entering into Wyoming we were told to stop at this place if you like history, antiques, etc. When we pulled on the lot it was like going back in time. This store is over a hundred years old and well worth the stop. We took several pictures outside before entering and was amazed to find everything as though time stopped here. You could buy new things, shirts, tees, boots belts, etc. Off to the left after entering was a fully stocked bar including Moonshine. All through the store from room to room and then upstairs it was unreal of the antiques for sale all on consignment or most of them anyway. We purchased several items, some new and some old.The lady behind the counter was very nice also. This little town only has five families and total population of 15. Also I might add the whole town is for sale for One and a half Million Bucks.I forgot to mention it has its own Post Office, Gas Pumps and a lot of HISTORY. So if you pass it by you will never know what you missed, We loved it !
