My boyfriend surprised me by booking this Murder Mystery Train Ride - for a long cold winter - it was a nice break and "different" sort of get-away. The actors and actresses are excellent - they work hard and bring their A game. I think your experience is largely based on your attitude AND the other guests in your train car. We had a few fun people in our car - which brought many laughs. Unfortunately as a couple of two - we were seated with strangers for the dinner/train ride - and they were wet blankets - barely a smile arose on their face. We had fun nonetheless. The dinner was average - so don't go for the food. Our soup was cold and the salad - lifeless. Our entrees were hot - chicken better than the salmon. Nothing special, but decent. Would I go again? Maybe - when they had a new mystery to solve.

Fun trip. There Halloween night, so many guests were in costume. The show was fun and food very good. Too bad it was dark, so we couldn't see outside the train for the scenery, but otherwise great time.

My wife and I took the trip not for any special event but just to do something different and fun. We were dissapointed. They use words like Chef's choice and 5 star dining. Wow...food was not good frozen then dethawed and then cooked and back to room temp again. They had us packed in so tight I had to stand up if I wanted to stretch. The actors were great very entertaining but I am sorry to say nothing else was worth paying 70 dollars a person for. I love the idea of the place.. unfortunately this one didnt work for me.

I called them to set up a referral dinner for our clients and from the first phone call, everything was great. They took my reservation of 30 people and gave me meal choices I could pass on to my guests. They made sure we were altogether in the same car on the train(there are 3 different cars) which was really nice, because I wanted to make sure we were altogether to enjoy the evening as a group. We all arrived and the nastalgia was great. There was a conductor yelling "Aaallll Aboard!" which just added to the evening. The train was very clean and the tables were all done up with nice linens and silverware. Each section has their own waitress or waiter, and ours was on top of her game. Very attentive. Train starts moving and off we went. At the same time, the show starts and different actors and actresses come through the cars giving you the plot and how they fit in. Not only was it a bit suspensful, but also very very funny. There is a woman, and I am sorry I don't have her name, but she has curly hair, that is part of the show and she took the show away! She was amazing. Great range, she sang, had great delivery on jokes. She was great. Honestly they were all great. Meanwhile, you are being served a 5 course meal. The meal was great! I had the Prime Rib and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. Soup, Salad, meal, and desert. It all wraps up as your heading back to the starting point and they give you a card and a last pitch on what the motives were and who the killer might be. On a side note, there is a lot of interaction with the guests. They picked someone from our train who was supposedly the person who was killed, so that made it fun as well. We had 30 guests with us and every single one of them were grateful for the evening. I would highly recommend trying this attraction out. Great for couples or big groups. They definately take care of you. Now another bonus was I paid with my AAA credit card and I received an extra 10% off my total bill, which was great as well. 2 Thumbs up for sure. If you are looking for something new and exciting to do, go check this out, you will not be disappointed. Also, as far as planning, it is an entire evening event. Train boards at 6 and you get back to the station at 10. Also, they do different mysteries and I believe in October they have a Magic event, so there will be a guy doing magic at the tables and stuff, so that would be fun too.

The quality of the dinner was average but the wait staff was great! The actors/actresses were really good. Was a fun crowd and fun evening out. My only suggestion would be to give out a prize to those who guess correctly who the murderer was. Other dinners like this I have attended, you hand your guess at the end as to who the murderer is and why you think they were the one and then they read out some of the answers that are funny then draw a name from all the correct answers and that person wins a prize. Even if it was a small souvenir T-shirt or mug or something. All in all, go for the fun entertainment. The price is par with other murder mystery dinners I have attended.

Went on the Saturday night Murder Mystery dinner run with another couple. The food was good - prime rib and salmon. The murder mystery show was really good. The actors were very talented and had everyone laughing. The only downside was that they had us in the dreaded 'third car'. On that car the windows were covered on the outside with a film that made it impossible to see out. You could tell the train was moving but you couldn't see anything. The owners of the train are aware of this problem as there have been other adverse reviews but for whatever reason have decided not to remedy the situation. So, when you make your reservation, request cars one or two.

A little expensive, dinner average and the mystery show was less than exciting. Train ride was nothing exceptional. A so so experience.

My husband and I went on whim and loved every minute of it. My husband got to be the murder victem! The food was WONDERFUL! We are planning on going back for our 1 year anniversary!

For a so called 5-star dining experience, the food was catered in and was lukewarm and mediocre at best. The entertainment was tragic. The worst part was at the end, I was prepared to accept the overpriced fee of $70 per person as somewhat worth it, to just simply experience it, but the train stopped a 1/2 mile short of the depot so they could hold us hostage for a 1/2 hour so they could run everyones credit cards, even though we had given them the card previously, when we purchased the reservations. 3 1/2 hours of total misery. I do not reccomend going here unless you have it on your bucket list and just want to say you tried it. Wait staff was excellent.

I've been on the murder mystery dinner train twice. I found it while searching for a nice place to take my then-boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday in September 2012. The food was good, the entertainment was good. They had lots of innuendoes and the best part was when the slightly larger woman with the big eyelashes did a "sexy" dance to proud Mary with the lights off. Hilarious! Then, that Christmas my boss took our entire company to the train. It was fun, despite the fact that some of the jokes were similar (what can you do?) and I was seated next to my boss. They didn't turn the lights off during the proud Mary dance this time (bummer)... But it was hilarious to see my boss's face when the lady shook her chest in front of him!! She never bothered me or my boyfriend so it was fun to see others squirm. Then, my sisters both ended up going with their SOs and they also had a lot of fun. I would recommend going--but maybe not twice in one year.

Beware!!! Whatever you do, avoid the dreaded rip-off "third car"! It HAS NO WINDOWS! LOL. It sounds ridiculous, a train with no windows... but seriously, we took our 4 year old on the Easter bunny/cotton trail express ride... and after walking through the first 2 cars, with their bright large curtained windows, we arrived at our table in the overflow car: small windows with shutters! Open the shutters and voila! Opaque windows! Haha- What a nightmare. I actually got a little motion sick from the snail pace & rolling of the car because there was nothing to see! Anyways, you better ask, because the price is the same! Oh did I mention the fact this car has no air circulation, and the young children were crying because they were bored out of their minds after 15 minutes. This was 90 minutes of hell for the adults. The operators should have absolutely warned us there was no visibility. Instead they took our last minute reservations... now you've read this, you can't say you weren't warned!

We took the dinner train with a group of 8 for a friends birthday. THe train left right on time at 7 and although both dining cars were full, we had plenty of room between our table and the others to move around as needed. We were fortunate that our friend agreed to "play" one of the parts, so the action was largely centered near our table. The actors were funny, yes, lots of sexual innuendo, but I thought only one of the actors relied too heavily on that. They all brought a little something different. Very friendly enjoyable atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive and did a great job despite having to circumnavigate the actors who were frequently near our table. The food. Beer cheese (can't go wrong with that), rolls that were mediocre. If they were warmed they would have been very good. Excellent tomato parmesan soup. We all had the prime rib. Perfectly cooked, but definitely not prime. It was not as tender as I would have liked. The salad was romaine with 4 dried cherries and some walnuts with a vinaigrette that had seperated. I have a thing with lettuce ribs. I prefer tender leaves. They could make the salad much better by substituting a mesclun mix. It was the only course I really didn't care for. Cheesecake for dessert was very good. In the end, it was a great night out with friends. Arrive early. Although a tiny town, Blissfield has some cute antique shops. Don't speed in town.

Train ride was bought as a gift for my wife's 30th birthday, we were both excited as we had done a lot of rail travel in Britain and Canada, and had some wonderful trips and meals. We came an hour earlier than departure as requested and expected drinks and canapés but got some cheese dip and some crackers to pass the time until we left. The wait staff were very good, but the food when it came was awful. The starter salad had some milky flour sauce with unwashed lettuce, the main of salmon was just pan seared with some uncooked rice, the best thing was the cheesecake dessert. We don't know why everyone raved about the food, but we think that this was on the other Dinner train that goes from Charlotte MI. The ride was fine and ran to time but very slow, around 4-5mph as they have a c.10 mile track. The slow speed figures as they probably haven't replaced the track since the 1830's. The carriages were interesting though, old Pullman's from the 1930's. Frankly they need to do a longer run at higher speed, i.e. faster than walking. The entertainment was okay, you got the sense they got lumbered with bad scripts, think you had to drink a lot to get into it. The singing psychologist was the best actor. Overall I'd avoid it, at $90 per person if you're into trains - save the money. Such a shame I haven't had a good Michigan train ride yet -- Amtrak's delays on the Wolverine are biblical. Try ViaRail in Canada if you're a train buff in MI, Windsor to Toronto is only $88 return if book in advance.

The train was comfortable and cool. The actors were very funny and entertaining. The prime rib and the sides was excellent. I would suggest you go and enjoy yourself!
