We stayed at Pocono Manor this weekend and took a horse drawn sleigh ride after checking out - the driver (Ron) made this a very enjoyable experience - he introduced us to the horses and the other attractions, gave us blankets and a great ride - he prompted and answered all questions from the kids and the adults - and he even took group pictures after the ride - I highly recommend it.

Went for a very nice sleigh ride here - was cheap enjoyable. Would go again. Staff was very friendly and the guy who did the sled ride was very nice and seemed to enjoy himself.

On a recent trip to the Poconos, my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to go for a trail ride. I am an advanced rider, with 20 years experience, and my boyfriend has ridden a handful of times (walk, trot) but is a beginner. Therefore, we usually have a hard time finding a trail ride experience that fits both of our levels. Most rides are either on slow, tired horses or are advanced rider only. We stumbled upon The Ranch's brochure at our resort, intrigued by the fact that they claimed to accommodate all levels. We were not disapponted! This was hands down the best vacation trail ride experience we've ever had. We shared a 1 hour trail ride with another couple who were beginner/intermediate in level. The horses were sound, bombproof, and yet responsive. We rode Dakota and Onyx, though the three other horses on our ride were equally friendly, calm, and forgiving to less accomplished riders. They know their job. Allison, our tour guide, was friendly and informative, and willing to shape the riding experience to our levels. We trotted several times. Once the less experienced riders felt confident and comfortable we did a short stretch of cantering, twice. Everyone was thrilled, advanced riders feeling like they got their money's worth and beginners brimming with pride that they trotted and cantered on a trail on safe mounts in a controlled trail environment. At the end of the ride we were given a coupon for a future trail ride with them. It was an extremely positive experience. I recommend The Ranch for all levels looking for a fantastic riding experience in the Poconos.

My fiance and I were so happy to find this place. Of all the trail rides we've been on this was by far the most interesting. The guide tailored the experience to that of the group and we actually got to trot & cantor. We enjoyed their elaborate trails and super friendly staff. Can't wait to go back in the spring and ride by the waterfall. PS.They have really lovely goats and a pony you can pet. They're just like little puppies!

My niece loves horses and rides often. They were very nice and took her around to meet the horses. One guide stayed with the group of girls that were not experienced and the other guide stayed with Madison and they got to do some trotting, etc.

I was very much looking forward to horse-back riding during my stay in the Poconos. Just like the people at the Inn, the stable staff greeted us like old friends when we went in to book a ride, simply because we had run into them the day before while we were out hiking. We did the beginner woods ride, which was nice, but very much for beginner riders. One hour of slow walking through the woods. This of course is not a fault of the Stables - it was a beginner level ride after all! Intermediate and Expert level rides are also available. The horses are beautiful and friendly. The rise was a but pricey, but worth it to be able to spend time with the gorgeous animals. It is definitely a good thing to do if you are staying in the area.

I decided to learn the skill of horseback riding and hooked up with this facility. Since I wanted to take the lesson first I needed licensed instructor, and they have one - Felicia. She came during her day off to give me the lesson and then provide 1 hour trail ride. With Felicia training I felt quite comfortable to go on the trail first time in my life. I certainly recommend this facility and this instructor to anyone who wants to learn the skills and enjoy the ride. And their trail in Poconos is beautiful as well!

What an incredible first horseback riding experience! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. You can tell that the owners take wonderful care of their animals. We did the hour-long wooded trail. The terrain was a bit challenging as a beginner but it was very beautiful! I believe our guide's name was Roxanne. She was absolutely wonderful and very helpful with my first time riding. Will definitely be back here again, this time, to do the waterfall ride!

Lets start this off by saying I have over 10 years on horse experience and was a trail guid at one of my past stables. We took the hour and a half ride on Saturday at noon. Had another couple with me and my boyfriend for this ride. They said they could walk trot canter no problem.... Not! People if you don't have experience say it. It's for your own safety. Anyways our guid would not stop talking. And I could here here well 4 horses back. She had us full out cantering up rocky hills which was bad for the horses no matter what u do.AnywaysWe took an hour trail on Monday morning at 11.30. What a different ride this was! Sooooooooo much better. The other couple didn't show up in time do it was the guide me and my boyfriend. Alot nicer relaxing ride. She was safer and cared for the horses more. We were talking about horses and horse people stuff the whole time. To conclude if you have experience go on a private trail. You get more out of it.

Very nice beginner trail ride. It was mostly walking, with a few minutes of trotting. The guides were competent and friendly, and were knowledgeable about the horses and their personalities. One rode at the head of our 6 person group and one rode behind us. I felt very secure having them with us. We rode through the woods. I would have enjoyed seeing the waterfall, but that trail was too difficult for beginning riders. The scenery was nice, and we saw several deer. I'd recommend it.

Very friendly staff and horses! Reasonable prices and great location. Glad we checked out reviews online and didn't take advice of resort staff - this one was worth the longer drive. Robin is a great guide and very patient and informative - especially if you're a first time horseback rider (which we weren't).

I'm a city girl and this was my first time on a horse. I chose Zip and he was a gentle and obedient soul. Felicia F. led the 1 & 1/2 tour through the beautiful Pocono Manor forest where I rode through streams, up and down hills, and viewed a lovely waterfall. Felicia and the rest the Ranch staff love what they are doing. The stable is extremely clean and the horse are well taken care of. Also they have ranch cats, goats, and bunnies! Most importantly Zip and Felicia were very patient with a scaredy cat like me. When I visit the Inn next year, I will definitely take this tour again. Although I am a newbie, this ranch caters to all experience levels.

We came here so our three year old son could experience horses for the first time. What a great place with great staff. They were so friendly and made our son feel so comfortable.

I was recently at the Ranch at the Pocono Manor this past Sunday, 8/17 for an afternoon horseback ride experience. My girlfriend and I drove out all the way from NYC (over a 2 hour drive) to this place from the good reviews I've read. Well, we had a great time here! The staff are very knowledgeable towards the care of their horses and the horses were all in good temperament (this told me that the horses were happy because they were taken good cared of here). The courteous and professional staff made the experience very comfortable and enjoyable. We did the 90 minute trail ($70/person cash cost) which led us through wooded areas and we even stopped by a small waterfall along the trail. The trail was rocky at some points, with some uphill and downhill, and we even trotted a few times on flat terrain, which was quite exciting for both of us. A small river way followed parallel to our trail at one point, and it created a beautiful nature essence to our ride. Gina, our tour guide, was very patient and knowledgeable and set the entire trail ride with a comfortable atmosphere. She was especially patient with my girlfriend considering this was her first time on horseback. Yes, it is not recommended for 1st timers to ride the 90 minute trail but I really wanted her to experience it since it included a waterfall stop. I confess that it was very tricky at times for her (horses like to stop and feed on the pasture at times) but she definitely would not have wanted it any differently. Thanks to Gina, my girlfriend had an incredible and enjoyable time horseback riding along with our entire trail group of four riders. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an incredible horseback riding experience. 1st timers or veteran riders all the same! We loved it and will surely return here if we wanted to venture on another horseback ride experience.
