I love Tyler State. I have memories of this place from first grade to now (I am 22). Beautiful and a lovely run or walk in the park.
I love this park. Its right outside of Feasterville-Trevose area of PA. Close to Phila. There is 1711acres in Bucks County. The Neshaminmy Creek meanders its way through the park dividing it into sections. There is 10.5 miles of hiking trails (paved) an additional 4 miles of unpaved trails, and 9 miles of Bridle trails. You can walk with the crowd or follow the trail and it seems like your all alone and its very peaceful. There are picnic areas that have tables and grills. There is fishing along bank of creek or you can put in a canoe. Non motorized boats are allowed. (Electric motors also) There is a nice covered bridge that you can hike to called the Schofield Ford Covered Bridge> Built in 1874. Pick up a pamphlet when your there because there's a lot of info. about the park and its activities. Some of the hikes can be strenous. There are uphill trails but I dont think that too bad if you do some walking on a regular basis and have no bad health problems. Theres lots of parking. Theres more than one lot to park in. Also, you can bring your dog as well as your horse! You could push a wheelchair....but the pusher should be in good shape because once you go onto the other side of the creek most of trails go up hill. This is in the main area...there are plenty of othere areas in the park where you could be on flat or mostly flat ground. Play area for the kids too.
