3 of us bought Groupons and went for our first skydive in July 2014 with Skydive Midwest. Upon arrival, we checked in and were each handed a hefty packet to sign. This was probably the scariest part of our whole adventure. The staff was very professional and welcoming. Our classroom time was quick and answered all of our questions. We each then were assigned a tandem partner/instructor who got us all geared up and ready for our flight. I purchased the video package and so glad I did, it gave me an on-ground interview, in flight picks and awesome video and still shots at 14,000 feet up!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE VIDEO!! Once loaded in the place everyone was real nice, our instructors walked us through what to do, when to do it and so on. They double checked all of the gear and made sure we were 100% attached to them and off we went. It was absolutely awesome and I cannot wait to go again!!

My husband's 40th birthday weekend was this past weekend. And Skydiving Midwest was the highlight for my husband. Similar to the review below, their website says to prepare for a half to whole day affair, BUT he jumped on his time scheduled! Which was awesome, left us with more time to play. The wonderful women who checked him in were so so so friendly and never ever pushy on the video upsale. Which made us feel more comfortable. We got the video and pics, totally recommend!!! Awesome pics! The video gave me and our fam a better idea of what he experienced. :) My husband said his guide Andy was safety first at all times, including the safety check at the beginning. Grade A experience! We are already planning on bringing 2 more people by end of summer!

Our family, led by my 75 y/o father, went tandem skydiving here yesterday and I can't say enough good things about this experience. The staff was friendly and helpful; the facility was clean and the plane wasn't too scary. Didn't have as long of a wait as they indicated may happen on the website, but it was a beautiful day. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and the video/pictures are worth every penny! Must be 18 y/o to dive but really young kids were there watching!

I have ALWAYS wanted to skydive and my husband has NEVER wanted to skydive. As we are both pilots, he could never understand my desire to wanting to end a flight without the airplane. Well, he loves me and knowing I wanted to do it, he said he would go with me! We were married on Friday the 13th and decided to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary by going skydiving since it landed on, of course, Friday the 13th! Long story, short: the first words out of his mouth upon landing were, "WOW! I wannna do that again!" I guess all of the careful preparation we had to do under their expert guidance helped to put his mind at ease. We also purchased the video and have shared it friends and family. Even if we do not go again, we have the most incredible wedding anniversary memory we could ever imagine!

Wasn't my idea to even do this but my kids insisted and the next thing I knew I was on the smallest plane I've ever seen. My partner was so caring and compassionate as I was terrified. I truly appreciated all the safety measures and the guys that made this truly a memorable experience. P.S. Get the video!

My husband and I went here last October to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We had previously tandem jumped in Lake Taupo, New Zealand 2 years earlier, so we kind of knew what we were in for. If this is your first time skydiving you MUST get the video and photo package. We did that in NZ and were SO glad we did.We were the first group up that day and the weather was great. The staff is great and really laid back which helps with the nervousness. They aren't nervous or scared, why should I be?? The jump was exhilarating to stay the least. Afterwards, we quickly purchased our next jump which we will do later this year. We live so close (~8 miles) that we can quickly run out there if the weather is good. Can't wait for the next dive!!

For those of you who hate long reviews: Go out to SDMW and take the jump of a lifetime! The facilities are great and the staff could not be more accommodating, professional and friendly! You will not regret it! And here for those who do appreciate more detail: I surprised my wife for her 40th birthday with a 3-day trip to Chicago. One of the surprises was meant to be a jump on her 40th birthday (14,500 feet tandem). Online booking was easy and a short 60odd mile car rental trip from downtown Chicago later, we were greeted with the warmest and biggest smiles. We arrived at 11:30 check-in for a planned 12 noon jump. Unfortunately the weather was not on anybody's side. To make it short: We decided to give up at 5pm and left SDMW rather disappointed. But please remember: All hopeful jumping customers were at least as disappointed as the staff. The staff do not want anything more than happy customers and most of all: They want to jump, too. So, if you are ever faced with a similar situation, PLEASE do not give out to the staff, they REALLY want you to jump and have a great time. Since my wife was really disappointed, we decided to return 2 days later (on our departure day back to Europe) to challenge the weather gods one final time. We arrived just after 12 noon and my wife was in the air within an hour to get her first ever jump. I could not wipe off the grin until now (and we are already back in Europe. One advise: Select the DVD&Photo option, you will not regret. We have already watched the DVD three times (and we only landed in Europe 6 hours ago!). Thank you to all at SDMW for making my wife's birthday a very memorable one. Special thanks to Brittany (girl power!) for bringing back my wife safe and sound from 14,500 feet and to Neil for a spectacular video and photo shoot. Also many thanks to Laura and Emily at reception, you have been terrific in accommodating us on both occassions. On the transatlantic flight back my wife monitored the altitude on the inflight monitors until we reached 14,500 feet to remember the moment when she voluntarily jumped out of an airplane. Finally: When SDMW say "plan a full day" - they mean it! Weather is unpredictable and you may have to wait for hours. So, bring some food and (non-alcoholic) drinks and make it a nice day out. Would we go back? YES, absolutely no doubt. I think my wife has just found a new hobby that she will definitely pursue. Wishing all you skydivers great weather, fantastic jumps and most of all safe landings (always)! Thank you from Ireland, we will be back!
