Our family met at a cabin here and enjoyed our Christmas. It kept everyone together without worrying about not having enough room. The kids played in the playground. Some adults checked out a couple trails and it is set back just far enough from the road for easy access but to still give you the feeling of privacy. The only shortfall was the pitch black walk out to the cars at night. The cabins had been recently remodeled and were very comfortable.

Great part with designated mountain bike trails, great hiking, nice lake with swimming beach, horse trails, campgrounds and cabins. We camped in mid November just after some snow, since we were the only ones camping in the entire park we camped in the horse camp area since they have a great bath house. Wonderful four seasons park.

We went up to watch a college game and stayed in the cabins at the park. Cabins were clean and maintained. The only pots and pans that were there was a skillet and a pot. There were no plates, silverware or a coffee pot. Bring your own sheets and pillows because that's not provided. Cabins were pretty close to each other. The campground was quiet and was about a 15-20min drive to campus. There is a lot of construction going on in the area and our GPS wasn't recognizing the new 31. Would stay in the cabins again but would come better prepared the next time.

We camped at this park for the first time last week. The campground's restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. The campsites were good sized, and ours was shaded. We enjoyed biking on the 3.3 mile (one-way) paved path. Hiking several trails rounded out our camping experience. Enjoy this park; it is representative of our wonderful Indiana State Parks.

Camp here for Notre Dame home games. Quiet campground. This park is very nicely kept. They have done a great job here. A lot of birds of prey, we had an owl right outside of our tent.

We stayed here in one of the family cabins for a 3 night mini vacation during the week; Mon-Wed. It was very spacious and quiet. Peaceful! The bike trails were awesome and the scenery was great. The only things we didn't like about the cabins: 1.) The mattresses were stiff as a board. They were the vinyl wrapped ones that stay dry no matter what. 2.) The tent campground sites all have fire rings to start a fire to cook on or sit around at night and look at the stars but the cabins don't supply these and only have the charcoal mini grills. The fire ring out front and softer beds would have gotten this a 5 out of 5!

We had a nice 3 days at this well run state park. The beach for swimming is a short drive or bike ride from the camp ground. They have a well stocked store where we bought what we needed for food. Lake Michigan Sand Dunes Park is about an hour away.

This is by far the best outdoor experience that exists in the area. There is a lot to do from hiking to biking trails to fishing and swimming. It's perfect for the early spring and mountain biking or hiking the trails in the cool, fresh air. If you're in the South Bend area, make sure to take the trip down to the nearby park to take in the views and get some exercise in. The park is also great for dogs and kids. The nature center is wonderful and there's always the opportunity to see some great wildlife in action.

We have visited several state parks in indiana. This one does not have trails that our to long or very challenging, but it does have lots of nature to be viewed from the birds nesting, to flowers blooming. You can rent boats and bikes, which is nice and the prices are reasonable. great place to take a little peaceful getaway to.

This is a great state park in northern Indiana. It has a very large lake that is great for fishing and has a very nice swimming beach with showers and changing area. There is a small but fun nature center that kids really enjoy. There are stables and horse trails for the equestrians. Historical buildings and a lot of nice hiking trails. The campground is very shade and has nice level sites. If you visit for the day there is a fee, but it is worth the cost to see all of the nice area.

Potato Creek State Park is one of my favorite local attractions. They have a six-mile (three miles one way and then you need to bike back to your car) bike trail that is really enjoyable. You cross some roads where it's necessary to be careful of traffic, but most of the trail is quiet and pure nature. Of course coasting down the gentle hills under the canopy of trees is much more enjoyable than pedaling up them, but you won't be alone if you need to walk your bike up to the top of a hill. There is a vendor who rents bikes at the camp store, but they have a limited amount of bikes (in various conditions) so it's ideal if you can bring your own. I especially like biking the trail in the fall when the trees are changing color.

The campsites are large, bathrooms are clean. Lots of things to do. Well priced. Last place I got to spend valuable time my sister before she died (2 months later). TY for the memories that will last me forever

My goal is to visit every state park in Indiana. I had 3 left to go and decided we should visit Potato Creek SP on the way home from the Indiana Dunes. We had never heard anything about this SP either good or bad. It is truly a gem and we were very wowed. This SP has something to offer for everyone. It has a huge lake with canoe/kayak rentals. It has a lovely 3 mile paved bike trail that offers a bit of a work out. Also over 7 miles of mountain bike trails. We hiked 2 well established wooded trails. There are plenty of picnic spots with modern restrooms. This park offers a beach, horse trails, boating etc. - you name it. When we arrived there was a line to get in and I thought oh it will be crowded, but it is such a large SP with so much to offer that we hardly saw anyone. Well worth a visit. I am sad that it is so far away from our house! If we can go back sometime, we plan to kayak. If you are passing through this area of Indiana or just curious about this SP, make plans to visit this summer, as it is a great time!

Beautiful state park. Very large with lakes and trails to enjoy. When we arrived, the person told us our campsite was located another 3 1/2 miles down the road...and motor vehicles only cover a small portion of the park. Grab your bike or hiking shoes to explore other areas. The park is known as a birders haven and they are working to re-establish an osprey population. Fishing on the lake while we were there was not great, but we didn't have ideal conditions either.Check this place out. And it's less than two hours from Chicago.

This is a most amazing state park- separate camping for cabins, campers, tents and horse trailers. We had our GMC Motorhome Rally here with nearby clean modern showers/bathrooms and the use of a octagon shelter for our meetings and catered meals. The beach is sandy with roped off section for unguarded swimming. Concession stand is nearby. There are kayaks, canoes and bicycles for rent- this is such a peaceful vacation spot! Environment is being returned to natural wetlands and some "prairie", so many animals can safely return including osprey birds and eagles. Enjoy your stay here in the park!!
