Had a fried hotdog sandwich while I was here. Excellent bar atmosphere and lots of momentos posted to look at! Great time and great ride!

The Moonshine Gulch is an experience! Very friendly locals, happy dog, and warm fire. Food is a little pricey and nothing special, but made to order. Remember you are paying for the experience and hospitality. Nice beer selection including some local brews. We will be back.

Sunday afternoons the Moonshine Gulch hosts a variety of local musicians, indoors or on the porch, depending on the weather. Eclectic group of local musicians playing everything from Irish jigs to country to blues...musician's choice. Locals stop to enjoy to enjoy a cold brew, a burger or warm up by the fire and listen to the music. It's a small, old building so be be prepared to share a table or stand if it's cold; bring your lawn chair and sit outside if it's warm. Check out the decor! Friendly people and dogs. Limited menu, surprising selection of beer, soft drink and snacks. Nice stop if you're out for a drive or riding the nearby Mickelson Trail.

The alleged structure is said to be very old and turn of the century, not to sure of that. If so, neat. Very laid back with real people to visit and chat with, however some maybe taken back by the less the usual health department standards here. Did not experience the live entertainment but locals swear by it. Lunch for four with two rounds of pop was $56, way more then it should have been. Deffantly NOT with $56, that was my only complaint. The ride down is breath taking, but if you ride a motorcycle, two of three ways out is rough gravel roads. Worth a look - see, just don't expect four star dining.

If you like quirky, friendly out of the way places then this is a one you don't want to miss. Stop in for a burger and a beer...take time to chat with anyone that happens to be in there...especially Betsy (she will make you feel right at home and comfortable). Hope you like dogs...as there will always be a couple running around in there which to me just adds more charm and a welcome feel (I enjoy a dog at my feet while I eat). Take the time to look at the walls, ceilings and every nook and cranny. If at all possible, save this for a cold or rainy day when you want to while away a couple of hours, the wood stove will be fired up and make it a cozy stop.Always a warm and wonderful place...a real treasure, it's been here for a long time and despite all of the graffiti and oddities that adorn every square foot you'll find nothing crude or offensive...So, please show the respect Betsy and her place deserve...they are real jewels.

This is a unique little bar in Rochford, SD. Nothing quite like it. Always stop here when we are in the hills. It reminds you of a cabin in the woods. Business cards, hats, t-shirts, $1 bills are hung on the ceiling with peoples names that have stopped in. Big & Rich stop in once in awhile. Betsy owns and runs it and we go to see her and enjoy Great food, cold beer and a fun jukebox ready to be played. I know if you stop once it will be on your list the next time you are there. It's off the beaten path but well worth.

Stop by in August with the suggestion of friends, and we are sure glad we did. Met Betsy - the owner - who is sweet as can be and her hospitality was awesome. It was later in the evening and she was still willing to cook us burgers/fries. Great little bar - definitely will stop again if ever in the area!!!
