We stopped here with my two smaller children and handicapped mom (not in a chair). Everyone was able to do everything. It was a nice little trip though history and interesting enough to keep the kids involved. They were able to go in the buildings see and even touch things. The weather is obviously a factor to consider here, you will be outside for a large part of the time.I had wished the river was in better shape, it was pretty low and the rubber liner did not make for a picture perfect setting. The gift shop is pretty little and I was surprised to see few ethnic things for the kids to choose from.

We were looking for a place on our GPS to have a picnic lunch and we found this park. What a find! We were not expecting such an informative, neat experience! The adults and kids all learnt something. The volunteers were so friendly and really went above and beyond to teach us new things. Everything was free. If you have the time, plan for at least an hour to soak it all in.

On an off chance we were driving through Minot ND when we saw a sight that caught our eye! This park us amazing! The buildings and stories, tourism centre, everything. We're gonna plan a summer trip just to see the water features, can't wait for our next trip....

Small park in the middle of Minot. Several cool statues and buildings to see, along with a big center/gift shop. Place in kind of run down and not well maintained, but a nice place to stop for awhile.

We visited this park after accidentally discovering it while driving by.Our kids loved it, the replica church is amazing in its exact detailing and size. The other buildings in the village setting were beautiful replicas as well, they were great hands on discoveries for our toddlers. The grounds are very well kept, boasting many areas suitable for family fun.

Just a walk in the park. It's kinda pretty, and somewhat educational for kids. Nice visiting place, not too busy

It was very nice to walk through the past. Kids stayed occupied as well as the adults. A bit disheartened to find out all but one on the buildings were original. Others are just replicas but still nice. The woman in the visitors center however was very rude. Trying to get answers out of her was basically impossible so we just gave up and talked to the maintenance grounds keeper. Lovely man full of knowledge.

There is nothing quite like the Hostfest in Minot. It happens every year around the end of September and it is amazing. Tens of thousands of people (mostly Scandinavian, I am assuming) travel to this little North Dakota town to celebrate all things Scandinavian. There are sooooooo many concerts. Several stages, and music happening everywhere. Some of them cost more than the $36 entry fee, but most are included for no extra charge. This year we saw Diamond Rio, Williams & Ree, and Ricky Nelson Remembered (Ricky's kids)...all included in the admission price. We ate tons of ethnic food, shopped 'til we dropped, or felt like it, and had an absolutely great time. There is so much to do here......we usually drive over and back in a day because the hotels are so expensive (due to the oil boom in the area), but wish we could stay for 3 or 4 days....there is enough to keep a person busy for that long! It is a great time, and a terrific bargain. Go to Hostfest! You will be glad you did.

We liked it all! The Stavekirk was awesome! The Heritage House had some really great artifacts. And the gift shop provided plenty of relevant gifts for the family. Couldn't stop taking pictures...

This place is beautiful in the summer. There are picnic tables and a walking path. The church has wood that is very intricately carved.

I've travelled through Minot lots of times & didn't know this park existed. I had heard about the Stave Church, but the other buildings, monuments, beautifully landscaped grounds and friendly people made this a highlight of the North Dakota portion of our trip! Follow the signs to the Tourist Info Center & it's right there.

This is a pretty little park. You can visit in an hour or less. The stave church is quite special as are the other wooden homes and storehouse.

We had a blast visiting here, and it was free. They even allow pets on a leash, and we especially enjoyed the audio in the church. Extremely nice ladies in the church and 1st cabin, and truly enjoyed the visit! Will definitely go back and take the family.

This is the most beautiful hand carved church, I have ever seen! It is an exact replica of one in Norway that was erected in 1250 A.D. It is in a Scandinavian Heritage Park that has lots of other things to enjoy!

Nice place to hangout, to chill out with friends and familly. In winter, the lake get frozen, and you can walk on it. Has a pretty church, inspired in scandinavian culture, all made by wood.
