I come here every time I visit the Atlanta. There is so much food variety, it makes you dizzy. Last week they had at least 20 varieties of fish from all over the world. Plan on going early and spending a lot of time. Probably a lot of money also, as the options are endless. The prices are good to very fair. The spice area is amazing. The food bar is great with a lot of tasty items to try.

Amazing market with food from around the world. Small cafe, bakery, and prepared foods also. If you eat....

Note: This is a very large food store and not a market with local farmer products. I have been going to the DeKalb Farmers Market off and on for over 30 years. Yes, I know it's crowded on the weekends and the prices aren't always as competitive as they used to be. I still like the idea of buying organic and being able to have a wide range of vegetable choices that aren't available at the chain stores. Anyone who has been there recently will notice that a lot of dirt has been moved and they are getting ready for a major expansion. It's about time. The biggest downside is that they don't offer paper products and a wide range of everyday items; it's always necessary to pick those up somewhere else. It's kind of difficult in the South to shop multiple stores on hot summer days. I'm looking forward to seeing what is offered when the open the new building. Note: this is not a good place to bring young children. It can be really, really crowded.

The market is great. It also has the best display of spices you could ever want - at a very reasonable price.

Under one vast roof you'll find the widest international selection I've ever seen of fresh produce, seafood, meats and other deli goods, as well as spices, sauces and so much more I could never fit it here. There are coffees, teas, wines and beers, bakery and dairy goods. There's a cafeteria with a fantastic salad bar and hot buffet. You can take out or eat in. The self-seating area is utilitarian with a cafeteria ambience, but it is available. I agree with another reviewer that a weekday is the least busy time to visit this Market. Bring a jacket or sweater, in case the AC is in overdrive that day. It's definitely a place to see!

I'd misunderstood this to be an upscale farmers market with cafe options. Totally wrong. It's an enormous, legitimate international farmers market with food from around the globe. Takes a bit to get oriented, and I'd advise a weekday trip if possible. Saturday mornings are a madhouse. Unusual and hard to get spices and foods make the trip a regular for many here. The breads are fantastic. Get the foccacia! Prices are very good. Plan to take your time and make the most of the stop.

A world's worth of delicious and fresh foods all in one place. I have been shopping here for over thirty years and it is still one of my favorite places. I now live several hours away but still visit several times a year to stock up on extremely affordable herbs and spices. The market has such a variety of products. There are fresh baked goods, dairy, seafood, deli, ready made international salads, fresh produce and more.

If you live in the metro Atlanta area it is worth taking a drive to the Dekalb Farmers Market. The name is misleading as it not really a farmers market but a produce store where you can find many different produce items from around the world. They also have an extensive selection of fish, meats and bakery items. Prices on produce are higher than standard supermarkets but the fish prices are better then the average store. What we enjoy is it is an experience. A melting pot of customers from many different countries. Note that is is cash only and parking is a mess.

Anything good wise you could want is here. Have patience because it's always busy but check out their wine, produce and fish sections. Take your time and stroll through the store. It's a place to meander and look at all the things you haven't seen.

We were camping at Stone Mountain and wanted to cook a nice dinner for New Years Eve. Several friends recommended the very short drive to the Farmer's Market. This is an experience unlike any other. It is about the size of a superwalmart and has anything and everything you could ever think of needing! We purchased some fresh produce and some filet mignons for dinner- the quality of the meat was outstanding. I sent my husband to get some shrimp and he came back several minutes later empty-handed asking me which of the seven types of shrimp I wanted. It was THAT awesome. I'd like to go back with lots more time to simply browse but from prepared foods to fresh items and even spices, wine, flowers and baked goods this place is phenomenal!! Cash or Check Only!!!

I've shopped YDFM for years. It is insanely busy and can be a nightmare to navigate but once you know the layout and where to find your "go-to" items it can be tolerable. Shopping close to closing time on weekends helps and going on a weekday is less chaotic. Aisles jam easily. Endless assortments of vegetables and fruits, great selection of cheeses and olives, miles of spices priced very well. Every kind of flour and grain you can think of. Breads are freshly baked and quite good. Prices can be pretty good on some items, higher on others, although nothing is what I'd consider really cheap. Parking lot is huge, parking on the outer loop is easier if you are willing to walk a bit to avoid the craziness. Avoid the day before a major food holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas) unless you enjoy crowds of heroic proportions. A true cross-cultural experience and worth the energy it takes to shop here.

If you need any type of food, it's here. Everything from wine to fish, apples to oranges, avocados to kiwis, it's all here. Bring your cash or debit card. Charge cards not accepted.

This is the most remarkable place - filled with an amazing cacaphony of foods and people from all over the world. If you're a serious shopper who wants to avoid crowds, try a week day morning before 11. However, if you are curious and want a real adventure then brave the week-end crowds and be jostled through a wonderful array of folks - just bring your smile and your patience. The food in the restaurant is always good and provides an opportunity to try some new dishes & recipes from other countries - at fantastic prices. The wine prices & selection are hard to beat - especially if you buy a mixed case & get the 10% discount. We've shopped here and watched the DKFM expand over the past 30+ years. It is a real blessing & treasure to our community.

OK, it's often crowded. The parking lot is always a mess -- everybody wants to be close to the doors, blocking those of us who don't mind a little walk -- and the DKFM itself often features jammed aisles and that clammy warehouse feel.I don't care. The prices for produce are usually far better than you can find at supermarkets, the meat/poultry/fish is good, and the quality for all is usually a step above (even if it doesn't look as colorfully nice as the stuff at Whole Foods, the Architectural Digest of markets). Occasionally there's a bum product -- the pasta sometimes has a funny flavor and the bread is hit or miss -- but, in general, if you're going to need produce and meat for a feast, stop here first. It'll be interesting when the new development -- which might be IKEA-sized, from what I understand -- is done, but even in the meantime, the DKFM will be fine.
