Dracula And it's opening night, as they say in football it was a game of two halves. In my opinion, the first half of the evening was Focused too much on atmosphere and not enough on action. The second half was much better. The cast do some amazing acrobatics and climbing which the production could have made more of. The team make all of the sound effects from 3 booths in the audience, while novel and effective it's also very distracting, we spent as much time watching how they made the noises as watching the performance, when you go I defy you not to keep looking That said we had a really enjoying evening out and a big clap to the cast and production staff, it's a really novel interpretation of the story which deserves to do well. Go see it. Another fantastic production brought to Newcastle by the team at the Vic, well done yet again.

Interesting interpretation of the Bram Stoker classic. Can't say that I was entirely on board with all artistic choices but certainly worth seeing and an enjoyable evening. Hope to visit the New Vic again soon.

This is a great theatre in the round. The performances are always really good and offer a different aspect to theatre. There is a good view of the stages from all of the seats. The atmosphere is warm and cozy.

I never write reviews unless they are bad. But I had to come on here to just praise the New Vic Theatre . As I said in my title this place is excellent ! You need to visit it ! The booking system is fantastic .... You get to speak to the people at the venue and not some ticketmaster person ripping you off. The staff ,in my years of visiting do all they can to accommodate you and find you tickets etc. The theatre have done all they can to make tickets accessible to all with their pricing structures and offers . Reduced rates for disabled, free for carers, free and reduced tickets for under 26 , first night and four people offers , massively reduced rates for those on benefits . This theatre really has gone out of its way to make theatre visits accessible to all.It has a massive range of diversity as to what is on and i can not praise this place enough.Well done vic theatre ! You are fabulous! Just to add , watched 'The Borrowers' last night . Best thing I have seen in 44 years !

The Borrowers is excellent. Fast paced, action packed and kept all ages entertained. Can't fault production at all.

We have been coming to performances at The New Vic for more years than I can remember and have found every visit an experience and cannot recommend it highly enough. Theatre in the round is something everyone should experience and this is one of the best.

Came to see the show on 24/12/14. It was brilliant. Our children loved it, they were entertained from the start to the finish. This is our second visit here and we will definitely come back. Nothing negative to add.

Bought the grandchildren to see this today. They really enjoyed it. They particularly liked spotting people they had seen at previous plays.

Just got back from seeing The Borrowers.Had our usual box, really good views from here and the girls love it.Very very good, different than your usual pantomime, but in my opinion far,far better. Our girls love the theatre and the eldest has now expressed a desire to join the Saturday morning classes. An excellent cast, couldn't fault it at all.The old shoe, the huge big bird, the Borrowers climbing the 'trees',the 'sailing' in the cutlery tray, one could continue and continue.Very helpful and friendly staff.A big congratulations to you all.Happy Xmas.Oh,the snow village at the end was magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Went to see The Borrowers play on Saturday afternoon. It was fantastic. Excellent cast and acting and the way they did was just brilliant. I booked quite late and seats up on the balcony but we could still see perfectly. This isn't the first play I have seen here and I have never seen a bad one. The staff are always helpful and it doesn't matter where you sit you can see everything with it being in the round. It's a perfect place to introduce children to their first experience of theatre.

my daughter and I took my grandchildren to see The Borrowers. It was fantastic. I love this theatre as they tend to do something which is just that little bit different. Last year at this time it was 101 Dalmations. The actual theatre is a lovely place too, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Support your local theatre, visit one of the productions, you will not be disappointed.

The building, the professionalism of the staff, as a large majority of them are volunteers, and the performances we have seen have all been excellent. We have always had a wonderful evening when we have visited the New Vic, I would highly recommend it, we have always selected and reviewed the plays well before making our booking

Lovely theatre. Great atmosphere.Tickets are cheaper than that of nearby theatres. The only negative - Car park can be very busy on evening performances and is quite dark.

Fantastic Theater that involves the whole community in what it does.... plus a great cafe.My daughter is involved in the local drama classes and really enjoys the experience.
