I booked this event after a suggestion from one of the female members of my team, and although you might think it is just something "for the men", the feedback from everyone was extremely positive. We had a tank paintballing session, followed by hot food and then a woodland paintballing session. However, over half the team wanted to leave early, and the paintballing would not have been practical, so the Armourgeddon team changed the afternoon activity for the rest of us and we got to drive some other vehicles around. The food was surprisingly good for a hanger in the middle of a field - hot lasagne which everyone seemed to enjoy, and which was better than that served in several pubs I've been to before!Overall the event was great fun, and a very memorable day - I would go again personally (maybe for my son's birthday one year), and I'd throughly recommend it to all - the staff are friendly, very accommodating to requests and you can't do this anywhere else!

Took my son for his birthday!Superb experience and well worth paying to go in the back of the tank with him driving.Staff fantastic, facilities really well done compared to what I was expecting.Only complaint would be that the initial price of a CD of photos was £20 but when no one wanted them, dropped to £10 each - Price them at a fair price first off :-)

Went along with my teenage son for a tank paintballing session and had a great time. The location is a bit basic but has everything one needs for an activity out. Clothing provided was good and practical and the instructors were excellent and professional, paying good attention to the safety aspects. Tank driving, turret and gun handling was revealing - must be a tough job in the real battlefield. Really enjoyed the two hours which went by in no time it seemed. Pity we were not allowed to pot shot at the cows in the field who I noticed made themselves scarce when the paitballing started!

Me and my 8 year old son visited for the 'Dads and Lads session' 1 x lap of the course with the instructor, 2 x driving myself, 3 x shots each at some static targets and a bit of reversing....just about right. Arrived on site, good friendly greeting and we watched in the viewing area until it was our turn. Luke our instructor was a great bloke, friendly, informative and witty. Overalls and helmet supplied and a safety briefing beforehand before....well getting on with it. Luke very knowledgeable and happy to chat to answer any questions, engaged well with my son and they both laughed at me when my son scored more hits on the firing range. The photos were £20 for the disk containing in our case 138 images which i thought was good value and there is none of the hard sell and up-selling that i have experienced at other events. You either wanted them or you didn't!There is an area that sells drinks, sweets etc. Costa it isn't but you are in a barn in the middle of nowhere and Tom manning this again very friendly...no complaintsSmall museum attached which both my son and i thought was well worth it....its full of tanks and boy stuff!!I am not sure what more you want from a tank event and its the staff that made this a very nice day out..hate giving 5 stars but little choice when they put such a big grin on both my and my sons faceThanks Lads

I bought this experience for my Husband and myself and we both thoroughly enjoyed it ,Great staff, we were soon supplied with overalls and helmets and had a safety briefing before getting in to the tank, Lee explained how everything worked and then we were off round the course. We had a look at the various military vehicles in the museum and then had a coffee before we left. Will be back with family to see the tanks in action again very soon.

the Armourgeddon tank paintball thought was quite a good gift, certainly different. Booking took awhile as my voucher was through Well Wicked experiences and the corespondents was very slow! Took just over 2 weeks from sending my availability and getting a place booked! Anyways on to the day it's self. The post code was spot on, and the small museum is reasonably well stocked. The day I had booked was for the tank paintball (just one of the several activities they have). Starts off with a little talk about e vehicle history and safety elements, followed by 1 lap each of the circuit driving the FV432, just about long enough to get to grips with the simple controls. You then take it in turns as gunner and loader on a static target range, each get to fire 3 paintballs. Quick pit stop for a cuppa whilst between the 3 crew discuss who will do what roll when faced off against another vehicle. Then off to 'the battle' which consisted of 2 vehicles driving parallel (about 4 tanks widths apart) along a track marked with 6 posts a few meters apart, at each post each vehicle stops and fires 2 paintballs, at the end the tank with the most hits out of 12 wins. My only reason for not giving the experience all the stars is because of the battle being over in a few minutes. Would have been nice to have been able to do say 3 runs so each member of the team could swap roles and have a bests of 3 type situation. This would certainly have made the experience exciting, also it would give people the same experience, as mine consisted of driving a lap fire 3 paintballs and then drive another lap. Over all I would still recommend a visit, and if so go either as a group of 3 or 6 as I think that would certainly add something to the day.As for the photos available at the end of the experience, vastly over priced! £20 for them to burn a disc for you!

I went to Armourgeddon as I had been given a voucher for my 40th birthday for a tank paintball battle for two people. I brought a friend along and neither of use really know what to expect. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who explained that we were waiting for one more person who had signed up to complete the three man tank crew. In the end they didn't bother turning up, which suited us fine as we had the tank to ourselves. Paul, our instructor couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and although he has probably had to run through the same briefing information hundreds of times, he seemed genuinely enthusiastic and we learned some really interesting stuff (such as what explosive reactive armour is!). We then suited up and hit the tank course where we were taught the basics of how to drive, which was easier than we had expected, then how to rotate the turret, load, aim and fire the gun at various targets. After a coffee break and a battle briefing, we then hit the course again where we went head to head with another tank full of instructors, which involved some nifty driving and lots of paintball blasting. I don't know whether they were going easy on us but we beat them 7-6! Once that was done it was all back to the base and we had a look at the photos, which I decided to buy despite being a bit pricey (£30 for the full CD) but then when else are you going to get pics of you looking this hardcore? Absolutely brilliant fun from start to finish. Totally recommended!

Good booking process - woman was friendly and efficient. Great anticipation in the car on the way down - three boys all very excited at the idea of learning to drive a tank. Location easy to find with satnav and postcode. Good museum with authentic military equipment, very well presented - Russian, German, British and American tanks, trucks and memorabilia. The tanks you drive are real ex army tanks - very impressive. Gave a vivid impression of what it might be like to serve in the army.Experience itself was a bit of a let down - don't think the instructor has much idea about how to teach, nor did he make much attempt to find out about who he was teaching. . Basically took the sergeant major approach of shouting at you. Fine for one of my boys (used to it at home?) - simply didn't work with the others, who ended up terrified: one of them made a mistake when loading - shouted at; another mistake, shout a bit louder, and so on. They do take very good photos of the experience, but you are charged extra for these. Hint: if you refuse to pay the (steep) charge for the photos, they immediately reduce it.Sad and disappointed car journey back. All agreed that they could think of considerably better ways to spend £300. Maybe a few female instructors to lighten the macho and aggressive atmosphere? Maybe a quick chat with the parent beforehand?

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my sons, both in their 30's and they loved it. Been on several driving experiences before but both said this was the best , great fun, a real "Boys" gift. I had fun just watching, spectators have to pay £5 but you can also go in the tank with them for £15 . The museum is also very good lots of exhibits.

Just come back fro the tank driving experience - wonderful day out. Instructor was excellent - very clear instructions and always put safety first without it being obtrusive.Driving the tank was wonderful - you start off with a trip around the track with the instructor driving so then he shows you how to drive it yourself and you set off with him in the turret giving any instruction you need. There are hills, hole, puddles (unless its dry presumably) and slopes around the tracks they use so you get all sorts of challenges.Basically it was AWESOME. I just want to tell people I DROVE A TANK!!Now - where can I buy one???

This was bought for my son and I by my wife for Christmas. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but we arrived early and had a look around the Military museum - mostly vehicles with a room with some guns and knives etc. When we were ready for our "go" Joe, our instructor, got us kitted out in a one piece suit and a helmet (there are wellies if it gets muddy), and we headed out to "Martha" our tank. There is supposed to be a 3 man crew - Driver, Loader, and Aimer, but our 3rd man had not arrived on time so we set off around the track, the two of us taking it in turns to drive, and a couple of shots at static targets. Once the other guy arrived, he had a go at driving, then we had a break for tea/coffee before the Battle. Joe talked us through the procedure for the battle against another Tank, and we decided who would do what job.I'm not going to tell you what happened next, because you should really go there and experience it for yourself, and I'd be surprised if you don't have a great time! We'll go back again, it is great fun for all ages - there was a hen party there, and a group of pensioners, and some newly weds. They have a range of other military themed activities you can try out as well.

Got a voucher for my birthday from my husband who was really pleased it lived up to expectations. Very pleasant team on site, well run. Fantastic collection of army vehicles on display to look around whilst you wait. Drinks and snacks available. Toilets clean. There was a children's birthday party going on, which looked phenomenal with the amount they seemed to be doing! My drive was brilliant, one lap being driven, one lap driving, and a short course with the hatch closed - the only place you can do this! Definitely recommend to anybody looking for a thrill and all round great day out. A disc of photos taken by their guys is £20, which is pricey considering they are not edited, but we went for it anyway - some great shots. They do tank paintballing too...

We visited today. We bought the experience as a Christmas gift for our daughter as she has always wanted to drive a tank. Her fiancé also went in as a passenger and my husband and I were spectators. What a wonderful morning out for all 4 of us. The staff were all very friendly and in my daughters word " it was awesome". We also enjoyed looking round the museum which was included in the £5 spectator fee and for the driver and passenger. Picnic tables provided, so enjoyed our packed lunch in the sunshine. Refreshments also on sale. They also had approx. 40 photos for sale and this was sold to us on a disc. Great planning all round-well done.
