If you are around the north of Tuscany near Massa or Carrara you should definitely visit Tellaro is a beautiful little town on the side of the mountain facing the sea! Very picturesque worth for the scenic pictures!

Staying in this town was great access to Portovenere and all the villages along coast line.Reasonable prices for cake, coffee and toasties in morning to set you off for day. Will definitely return.Visiting villages 1 day return to Montorosso 5.7 euro or get 2 day passes for 22 euro and do them in 2 days separately on your travels over 2 days. One tip if you arrive a Pisa and get train to La spezia don't get off at the 1st La spezia stop as this is not CENTRAL for hotels. All in all great experience my favourite village is Venazzia beautiful place.

Visited Tellaro with my family in July 2014 and we had a great time exploring the little streets, taking the amazing views from the top and enjoying the dolce vita on the main piazza. I honestly think Tellaro is on par with places like Riomaggiore in the Cinque Terre (if not nicer as it is less touristy and has great views). Try some of the foccaccia from the little takeaway place on the main piazza. And the ice-cream!!! The little beach cafe on the beach is also lovely and very friendly. We ate at Polpo di Mare on the main square which had amazing seafood!

This small village was the highlight of our roadtrip through Italy. A big perk that we found accidentaly searching for a place to sleep. We found a nice spot on the public beach between rocks and even with bad weather this place is magical, like from a movie.

The village is very beautiful located against the hill and nice walks beside the sea. Much kess touristic than Cinque Terre. Little shops sell local specialities but very expensive.

Not far from Cinque Terre but far less touristic, a wonderful original and beautiful place, with nice walks to do and very good restaurants.

This old fishing village was cut off from its neighbours as the coastal roads were not built until the early 20th century. The heart of the village is the church and the small piazza with restaurant and a large terraced cafe.We stroll up there on foot as the views are breathtaking along the coast. We also fight for a table facing the sea and the 3 little islands across the bay. Tino, Tinetto and Palmeria. This is one of my most treasured pass time.It is also the fashionableHangout place for people from Milano or Firenze.Do not miss this wonderful experience

We added this stop on to a visit to Lucca - it's about 35 minutes north. Tellaro is a really small town built into the cliff rising from the water. There's no sand beach but people were laying out on the rocks. Not a lot to do other than enjoy the beauty and marvel at the village.

Tellaro is small but very beautiful with a nice little free beach and great multi-colored houses. Parking is limited so get there early to find either a free or pay spot. Stroll through the many little streets with great history and charm. You can then take a very nice 30-minute walk along the main road to Lerici, a larger seaside village with many more restaurants, a large free beach, and shops, and continue on along the seaside board walk to San Terenzo. There are also much longer hiking opportunities from Tellaro to Lerici through the mountains. You can easily spend a whole day in this area and you will not forget the incredible views you will experience.

Is not yet discovered by large amount of tourist, so no shops, just some little restaurants/bars. It's a short walk down to the harbour at sea, but worth the walk. A little harbour...an old church and the beautiful blue sea.

If you like to take pictures, this is your place! It's very small and very good preserved. Colors of the houses are vivid and geometries are tipical of Liguria architecture. There's a good view on sea landscape. During the week-end, especially on summer, you will for sure be part of wedding photo shooting.
