rastatt castle (schloss)

We visited here with friends from Germany and thoroughly enjoyed the military museum with all its weapons and battlefield layouts. Very interesting indeed.

This palace is a unique example of baroque architecture in the upper rhine valley. It is exquisitely decorated and its location inside the city without any wall or fences gives the impression of being completely part of it close to the former market place.

What a brilliant place. A compact castle, very well presented with excellent guided tours (in German and English). Also, in one wing a military museum which is included in the cost of the ticket. Good information at the desk and excellent guides.

Had heard of but never visited this castle (palace really) and had a wonderful tour. Our tour guide gave the tour in German (4 present) and English for us four Americans even though she didn't have to as is usual in many castles they hand out a tidbit of information on a flyer for the non-native speakers - so definitely a plus. Great visit on your way to the Black Forest or France.

At the beginning of the 18th century,Italian architect D.E.Rossi planned a new residence for Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden,whose victories over the Turks had earned him the name "Turkenlouis".Versailles served as inspiration and model.You admire now magnificent halls and rooms with ceiling frescos and fine stucco.It is a feast for lover of the baroque art.

We showed up to visit Schloss Rastatt on a Friday afternoon in December only to find there were no English tours available that day. The only option to see the castle interior was to join a German-language tour lasting over one hour with a brief English-language brochure. We declined, since I've been on enough tours to know that the 20 seconds it takes to read through the English description of a room is not worth the 10 minutes of waiting for the rest of the group. Bottom line: if you hope to visit this attraction and receive an English-language option, call ahead to find out the rare times.

Castelo muito bonito. Só visitei por fora pois o preço da entrada era caro. A arquitetura do castelo é linda. Vale a visita.

Die Sammlungen im Schloss sind einzigartig! Ob30-j-Krieg über Badisches Heer, einem Teil der Türkenbeute des Erbauers des Schlosses, bis hin zur umfangreichen Sammlung zum Thema Erster Weltkrieg: so etwas bekommt man in diesem Umfang kaum woanders zu sehen. Auch die phantastische Blankwaffensammlung ist allererste Sahne, ebenso wie die Bildersammlungen. Sammler und Historienbegeisterte kommen hier voll auf Ihre Kosten!

Das Schloss liegt inmitten der Stadt und man ist eigentlich überrascht, wie gut es sich hier einfügt. Es ist wunderbar gestaltet und die lachsrosa Farbe außergewöhnlich. Die zahlreichen Figuren und der Innenhof sowie der rückseitige Parks sind sehr sehenswert, wenn auch nicht besonders groß.

Wir haben am letzten Wochenende das Schloß besucht, und haben hier auch alle gemeinsam die Führung durch die historischen Räume mitgemacht.Uns hat die Führung gut gefallen die Exponate sind teilweise einzigartig und wirlich sehenswert.Also viel Spaß bei der Besichtigung und natürlich so tolles Wetter wie wir hatten ;-)

E' un edificio dipinto di rosa. Ci siamo arrivati nel tardo pomeriggio ed era chiuso ma non penso ci fosse molto da vedere. Giudicate voi dalle foto.

Magnifique chateau situé dans la ville. La visite se fait accompagnée d'un guide en anglais ou en allemand.. Une fiche en français nous a été remise.Nous avons apprécié tout particulièrement les efforts du guide pour nous donner qq explications en français.Très belle expositions sur les armées à l'époque napoléonienne.Les averses ne nous ont pas permis de visiter le jardin.Poursuivre par le château de la Favorite

Magnifique château baroque, avec un jardin à la française. La construction a été commandée par le Markgraf Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden-Baden et débutée en 1700. Il est très bien entretenu, mais seules deux fontaines étaient activées ce jour, on pourrait dire un mini Versailles. Un restaurant terrasse à l'extrémité de l'aile gauche du château.

Дворец Раштатт — бывшая резиденция маркграфов Баден-Бадена в немецком городе Раштатт на западе федеральной земли Баден-Вюртемберг. Дворцовый комплекс и примыкающий к нему обширный парк были были созданы около 1700 г. по проекту итальянского придворного архитектора Доменико Эгидио Росси для маркграфа Людвига Вильгельма. Дворец построен в подражание Версалю, и считается старейшей барочной резиденцией на Верхнем Рейне. Есть что посмотреть.
