The park is lovely and very peaceful. It is good to spend some time with your family at the weekend. I have been in this park many times. The animals are happy because they have bigger areas to run around and hunt for their food also a good life with the caring people. The people who take care of them are very loving. You can see many kinds of animals here. Birds, parrots, lion, tiger, elephant, giraffe, monkeys, crocodile, snakes, a big turtle, and etc... Have a great time. Don't forget to be there earlier because it is a big park and not easy to see everything.

The park is large and nicely laid out. Wide paths and plenty of trees and shrubs make the park a lovely green place to walk around. The children's area with small animals and the main aviary were closed to the public when we were there which was slightly disappointing. The monkeys were not out on their monkey island, although they could be seen in their sleeping area. The viewing areas are good for most of the enclosures - especially for the large cats, the bears and the hyenas and wolves. As mentioned in another review, the eating facilities are poor - very little choice - but what there was, was not insanely priced, which was a pleasant surprise. There are plenty of toilets around the park - extremely useful. The shop is a total disappointment - only selling a couple of t-shirts and a selection of fluffy toys. A let down.It would have been useful to know more about the specific animals on show rather than a generic board located at each spot. At other zoos that I have visited, it has made you feel more involved to know about the age and origin of each animal - how long it had been at the zoo etc. Here, this information was really only provided for the elephants. It is also good to know when the animals are due to be fed, as often this is when they are most active and visible.Overall, this was a pleasant day out - helped by lovely sunny weather - but there was a feeling that the management could do better in terms of the information provided and educational opportunities that have been missed. The entrance fee at 3TL per adult (less than a pound sterling at current rates) was ridiculously cheap!

I was very impressed with the Izmir wildlife park (Doğal Yaşam Parkı). The park is very spacious, aesthetically constructed, and has lots of playgrounds for children. The park also has many observation places that offer really good views of the animals. I was particularly impressed with the views of the tigers, lions, and pumas. The animals themselves were very active while we were there, which made the visit very fun for both me and my kids.I think that for an inexpensive wildlife park, they have a great variety of animals. The park is also known for having Turkey's only rainforest exhibit and for having Turkey's only elephant family.Entrance fees: 3 TL for adults1 TL for studentsYoung children are freeAccessing the Park:From the Karşıyaka Iskele, cross the road, turn left, and walk to the nearest bus stop (I believe it is called Osmanbey Parkı). Wait for the 777 bus. Ride the bus until the end of the line, as the wildlife park is the last stop. It takes about 25 minutes.Website:http://www.izmirdogalyasamparki.org.tr/

We had no idea how far away this was...Took a ferry, then a taxi ride that were about 20 minutes each. The park reminded me a bit of the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Well done, except some areas had tall plants/trees near the fence that obscured the view of the animals.

After breakfast in our first day in Izmir I suggested that we visit this venue. I was especially interested in seeing the first ever baby elephant born in Izmir, Turkey. She has been named Izmir by popular internet vote. Great choice. The park is designed with great care and taste. We were blown away by the beauty of the venue and the well-thought out design. A must visit!!

Compared to the 'zoo' that used to be based in Izmir this is a fantastic improvement. The animals have lots of space, there is a great variety of animals and they seem very comfortable and healthy. The eating facilities are not very good, a little bare and not a good selection of food. It is probably better to go during the summer than the winter. I really enjoyed the snake and reptile section which was indoors.

Kamari_Travel

There are very few animals but the baby goats and sheep were adorable! The grounds are nice to walk about in and get out of the busy city. If you have nothing to do, this is not a bad place to go. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit though if I was in Izmir for a short period of time.

Very nice and natural life park. There are many wild animals and the park is really clean and tidy. The entrance price is reasonable and, worth visiting.

I have to say it is weird to see dogs in a zoo but this is a a very nice zoo. Lots of animals that appear well cared for. You will enjoy the time spent here.

Large space for animals, green area, fresh air. Animals seem happy. You can spend hours there without getting bored.

Very easy to reach from Karsiyaka, using bus 777. Very cheap Entrance (3 TL and 1 for students) and the best Quality for money you can imagine! You get a free map with a great visiting plan, the zoo is very cleap and well kept, animals look healthy and all animals have sufficient ground space. If you're a fan of peacocks you'll be very pleased because they're literally everywhere xDA great variety of animals. Facilities (WCs and restaurants) are well placed and there's always somewhere with shadow to sit. They should really put a tipping box at the exist because you'll totally want to give them more money to continue the great job they're doing!!It'd be great if they get a bike rental, the zoo is pretty big and bikes will be a great way to get byAnyway, this is a MUST SEE destination in Izmir

It is a great park, decent size for this type of parks with loads of wild life and animal to observe and experience. I would definitely suggest especially for the families with kids
