The place could have more infrastructure. However, the view from the upper level is nice! Lack of translation at least of the main history (a resume) and irregular stairs. I can't remember if there is another access to the upper level ... Please, ask before going there.

Situated way out on an artificial spit, this fort offers a history lesson as well as a beautiful vista out on the ocean and back to the city. Reconstruction was happening during my visit but nearly every room was open to explore. It's not a big fort, but the fact that is is right above the surf zone makes it special, more so if you are there when the tide comes in.

Despite 20,000 visitors being in town for the World Cup, the fort was closed. I realize that Brasil played later this day, but it is only your most famous attraction. The fort is on a beautiful beach and in a spectacular location, though it appears small and run down from the outside. The beach/sand bar out to it was fun for the kids.

Bearutiful location. A nice view of the Bridge. After 800 m walk along a platform you will reach unique construction.

All city tours of Natal will go to the fort. The fort is not big nor too small. It is very well preserved and has a nice view of Natal. It is worth the visit while in a city tour.

A very pretty old fort located practically in the ocean, on a small island. The view is magnificent, the fort is well maintained, nice walk around the walls and inside the fort. Has a little cafeteria selling soft drinks and snacks, pretty clean yard inside. The fort can only be accessed by foot, walking along a nice road built between the mainland and the fort's island, and there are also drinks available at the beginning of this trail. The only things I noted is that there are a lot of halls that have trash sitting around inside and that on our way to the fort there is a lot of trash floating in the water on the side of the road.In summary, I think it's a nice way to spend an afternoon, do recommend it for a few hours.

Fort of the three magis, good history spot with great views of the bridge and along the coast, nothing to dislike other than length of walk since roads closed off for World Cup fan fest

It´s one of the places linked do the history of Brazil from the beggining, telling more of the improvisations from the Portuguese army to keep the Brazilian possession and from the Flemish invasion at the time Natal was called the New Amsterdam (nice stories told by the guides, who are not official - I don't know if their English is good, but they worth the tip. Astonishing 360o view. Entrance is almost free, very cheap. Been facing some restorations. There was a nice exhibition in the room beside the entrance, but I haven't seen it this last time.

Humbertoo

The very first and oldest part of the city, built to defend the newborn city of Natal. Spectacular view of the seaward aproach.

This place is for sure an important spot of "potiguares" history. Although it kept many thing intouched , they changed inclunding modern bathrooms and a coffe , and even a souvenirs store. Which for takes out a true part of history of the place.Last was it was under reconstrution since they found some arthfacts which i dont really know for sure.

There you will get a great view of the city, however you'll have to be careful with the pick-pockets surrounding the main access.

Paulogf

It´s a place in which you can recover the history but it´s under reconstruction and because of it it´s a little bit dirty. The view of the city is nice.

Carimbada

The Fort of the Three Wise Men has in star shape architecture and was built on the reefs. A little history of Brazil and the world can be found there. The guides are volunteers and the amount paid is at the discretion of the visitor.

Very interesting visit. Tells a lot about the history of that part of Brazil, especially in regards to the battles between the Portuguese and the Dutch.

Everyone must go here and so it really pays to get this one first thing in the morning. It is actually much further away than it seems and will take some time to arrive as the beach is a very long one. Be sure to have eaten before as food options are limited besides agua de coco and other street food, which you will pay a premium for.
