This whole area is very interesting and worth the detour. Bring your camera! Next time I'll allow more time.

This walk is available to anyone who visits Tahbilk winery in return for a gold coin donation. The walk can take as long at 90 minutes, is relatively easy and wends its way around the 8 kilometres of the Tahbilk Billabong. It's well sign posted and includes a bird watch. On weekends you can take a boat around. Quite something!

Great scenery, a natural wildlife sanctuary centred around billabongs and the Goulburn River. If it's running try to take the Eco friendly barge tour to see the bird life and the river gums.

Interesting to hear how the company are making their land sustainable whilst on the water in comfortable boat, options to get off and on if you wanted to walk part of the way, an enjoyable way to spend an hour

A beautiful spot to take friends or family for lunch .It makes you feel like you are in the REAL Australia .So when we have guests from interstate or overseas we love taking them for lunch at the Wetlands .Also to a taste in the Tahbilk Winery. It really is a lovely outing!

We regularly visit Tahbilk. I have been going here since I was a child and a lot has changed over the last !!!!! years. The addition of the cafe has been a real bonus as it is such a lovely spot to sit and have lunch. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, but the vista helps to make up for that. We have also enjoyed the board walk and well done to the Purbrick family for their environmental work. The cellars are still the cellars which began the business so they are an interesting place to visit and the wine is very drinkable

To walk every path in the Tabilk Wetlands and Wildlife Reserve took us about 90 minutes. Coupled with a meal at the Wetlands Cafe or a visit the Tahbilk Winery (all at the same place) a visit to the Wetlands makes a perfect afternoon. The entrance to the Wetlands walk is at the Wetlands cafe. There are several walks of differing lengths, so you can spend a short time or a long time depending on your choices. All the walks are clearly signposted with their expected durations shown. When you sign in for the walk at the cafe you will be given a map.The walk costs a suggested $1 or $2 donation, which you put in a tin at the entrance. It is based around the Goulburn River and wetlands. The entire walk is level using dirt or grass paths, the occasional boardwalk and a very photogenic bridge. If you walk quietly you will see and hear several species of water birds, as well as frogs and other native animals. If you are noisy you will still see birds and the interesting wetland scenery. There are 2 birdwatching "hides" built into the wetlands, for serious birdwatchers. When we did the walk, on a Sunday, we did not come across any other people. It was a lovely stroll, and we made plenty of stops to take photographs. It took us about 10 minutes to drive from Nagambie to the Tahbilk Winery (where the wetlands are located). Some of the road is unsealed. There is plenty of parking at the Wetlands Cafe. You can get takeaway hot drinks and cake from the cafe to take on the walk, but you have to be careful not to leave any rubbish behind, as there are no bins. This walk was the highlight of our stay at Nagambie.
