It was highly recommended by our friend to take Route 20 instead of Route 40 driving back from Quebec City to Montreal. It was a longer drive but since it was recommended, why not..What a surprise, this relative modern church is just amazing huge. From the top, I believe it is an octagonal structure with the organ facing the altar. There was no column for obstruction. The stained glass was very beautiful and the ground was well maintained. Definitely a hidden treasure for a peaceful stopping place between Montreal & Quebec City. Interestingly, one side of the bonze roof was partially polluted by the near-by pulp & paper factory while the other side still had that constant green quebec roof top!!Excellent bathroom facility

I have visited this facility on numerous occassions over several years. I always enjoy touring the beautiful grounds found here. There are flowers and gardens, ample palces to sit and reflect, and wonderful walkways. The churches, the Basilica and the Chapel are steeped in history and so impressive. The stained glass windows in the Basilica alone can take several hours to enjoy. Every window tells a story, a tour with someone who works at the Shrine is recommended. There is even one that depicts the emblems of each Province in Canada. Can you find it?This is a location where peaceful reflection and quiet enjoyment can be enjoyed. There are several masses that can also be attended if you chose.

People have to know that this is a very special place as it display a very beautiful basilica, surrounded by quite a landscape.Go into the woods and follow the stations of the cross in statues, ending with the rosary bridge. My parents used to bring me here when I was little, lots of souvenirs...If in the area, stop for a relaxing break and a moment of peace

Our Lady of the Cape Shrine requires a less-than-scenic route to drive to it. The Basilica is located amidst closely built urban neighborhoods of narrow roads. However, when you arrive, the location is very beautiful. The building rests on land along the St. Laurence River complete with grassy grounds and even its own monument park and rosary bridge. The original chapel is still in existence to be viewed, and the new, large chapel is different than the usual cross-shaped cathedral. The stained glass is beautiful. We did not take in the entire gardens or gift shops or restrooms. We also did not take any kind of tour.

Beautiful setting and church on the edge of the St. Lawrence River. Lovely grounds with the stations of the cross in statues.

Beautifully preserved Basilica and gardens. The architecture is incredible as are the stained glass windows The gardens are very inviting. The Rosary bridge, the Stations of the Cross are lovely. A beautiful visit for sure. Right on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. There is a gift shop, restaurant and bathrooms on site.

How sad a person would attend the culturally significant location of Our Lady of the Cape Shrine and refer to it as ugly, yet happy to use it's washrooms. We see what we expect to see at times and what is in our hearts.Sometimes prior research before a visit yields great benefit to one's experience. Our Lady of the Cape Shrine is a wonderful treasure.

it's a very special place. The religious significance of the place - the miracle of the eyes - is clear from all the literature available and the fact that Pope John Paul 2 visited as a pilgrim with 75,000 Catholics attending was impressive. The chapel itself is big and conducive to meditation and contemplation. The grounds are well manicured, under the supervision of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Two other pluses - the lunch dining facility is very adequate, with several options available. We were in a large tour group and of course the food ran out for the latecomers but the staff were quick to do special order sandwiches. The other is the gift shop with an incredible range of art and religious objects on sale.

I used to live nearby this Shrine. It's an impressive place. Unfortunately, it requires lots of maintenance, so it has lost some of its beauty, but nevertheless, it remains a place to see if you go to Trois-Rivieres. You can visit the inside of the Shrine, and then have lunch outside, but the St-Lawrence River. Great view. There is a really extensive park, lit up at night. Worth a stop. Free parking. Free visit.

Special place in December with their expositions of madonas and the outside lights in the snow.We enjoyed our visit.

What a huge and ugly place. We stopped here as we were bicycling through Trois Riviere. A short nap in the park was long enough after a brief time in the lobby.

The Church is beautiful, the gardens are serene to walk around. There was a procession at night by candlelight, music playing and we were lead around the pond and statue of our Lady of the Cap. Our family enjoyed mass there and the shrine experience.

A nice place to take the kids when darkness comes early. We found it to be an enchanting Christmas décor!

This was the first stop in our church tour of religious sites in Quebec. We stayed at the nearby Maison de la Madone, attended mass and participated in a candlelight vigil. The cathedral is magnificent, and the mass held there was very inspiring. The photos of the chapel and the church tell a lot.
