How many legislature buildings in North America have thousands of kids playing in the area? The pools in front of the legislature are free wading for everyone and it is great fun to see so many enjoying themselves.

Our guide at the Alberta Legislature gave us an excellent tour. I learned a lot about the history of the building and the past premiers. There is also a hall that displays the Famous Five and their impact on Canadian history. The building was beautiful. I was really pleased that we were allowed to take photos inside. The tour is free and it is about 45 minutes. There is also a gift shop and centre across the park from it.

There is a free tour of the building that leaves the lobby every hour on weekdays. The grounds area turns into a "magical winterland" during the holiday season. In the summer, this a great place to people watch and cool off your feet in the fountain area.

We learned a lot about Canadian law making and history. The building is beautiful, especially the main hall. The guide had many anecdotes and was able to answer all our questions.

The Alberta Legislature recently received a face lift and the cupola is no longer covered in tarpaulins. There are tours available and access to the LRT and an attractive gift shop in a nearby pedway. The grounds are quite attractive year round, but are especially nice as families can wade in the fountains and reflecting pools. If you are with a tour guide ask about the place on the third floor where you can hear water running. There are lots of othe historic factoids to make the visit interesting.

A wonderful thing to do for the holidays! This is free, and my 6 year old was dazzled by the children, the building... everything! Plus walking at night in the grounds with the lights and music is awesome.

Very romantic and beautiful at night with all the lights. A free activity and worth the time to take for a evening stroll. Suggestion - I can be cooler than what you think because of the wind so dress accordingly so you stay warm.

Whether you go on the tour of the leg or just go to hang out, its a great place to visit. Year round it is a buzz with people. From the gardens , fountains and wading pool to the majestic building this is a must see in Edmonton.

Decided to take the kids to see the Legislature Building as they have all learned about the political system in school and thought it would be fun for them. What I didn't anticipate was how impressed we as adults were as were the kids. Absolutely beautiful gardens, gorgeous building (felt like we were in Europe with its architecture), the fountains out front were quite spectacular. Once inside, didn't realize they offered free tours. The guides were excellent, and wonderful with the kids. We managed to see quite a bit inside, and embraced the beautiful gardens outside. Definitely worth taking an hour or so and enjoying the building and property surrounding it.

Check out the amazing, kid-friendly wading pools out back of the legislature! Several pools for wading, splashing, even swimming, some with shade and benches nearby to keep parents dry. A great place to rub shoulders with locals from around the world and stay cool in the summer. And right at an LRT stop.

The building is beautiful both inside and out with beautiful huge marble pillars in the atrium. A very interesting and free tour was given with lots of interesting info. The grounds outside the building are also beautiful and well cared for with beautiful fountains and pools of water as well as sites of interest. There is also a nice little museum inside where you can try on costumes worn by the politicians in earlier days. Also a good sized gift shop with many beautiful locally made items. Definitely one of Edmontons most interesting and beautiful points of interest.

Limited menu in a cafeteria setting that is adequate but less than it used to be. Better choices just north on 109 street. Ok for coffee break or light breakfast.

Beautiful building and surrounding gardens. Did not go inside but just walked around. The fountain and reflecting pool add a classic touch

The grounds and parks are beautiful, especially the changing of seasons from summer to fall. The fountains are relaxing and the flowers are bright colors.

We drove around the site twice and couldn't figure out where to park or if there were tours available (as it says on their website). Signage is definitely poor.
